Chapter 48 - chapter 48

A new day dawned over Dragonstone, its golden rays painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. Rhaenyra and William prepared to make their journey back to the Red Keep, but this time, there was a difference— William and Rhaenyra each will be riding a dragon.

Syrax, the beautiful she-dragon with scales like polished amethyst, and The Cannibal, one of the largest dragons, stood side by side, awaiting their riders. The days since Cannibal's arrival had transformed the dynamic between the two dragons.

Cannibal had taken on the role of the older brother, gruff and seemingly perpetually annoyed by Syrax's taunts and antics. Yet, beneath that gruff exterior, there was a growing warmth. William had noticed the change in Cannibal's demeanor. The dragon had started to see Rhaenyra as someone special, not just because of her status but because he could feel the deep emotions his rider held for her.

William's personality has also changed, which he concluded that it was an effect of the bonding.

He didn't seem to be scared of anything. As if The Cannibal's ego and pride has been transferred to him.

William's hand then started to stroke the dragon's rough scales. While, The Cannibal's emerald eyes met William's, which caused an understanding between them.

They are going to face any obstacle ahead of them, with dragon fire.

With that, William mounted The Cannibal's formidable back, his hand resting gently on the dragon's rough scales.

Rhaenyra, who was stroking Syrax mounted the dragon, and smirked at her husband. The bond between dragon and rider had always been strong, and now, they were about to embark on a journey that would showcase that connection to the world.

With a graceful movement, Syrax and Cannibal spread their wings, their large figure's casting imposing shadows on the courtyard stones. One dragon more than the other, the dragons' wings beat rhythmically, and soon, they were soaring into the sky.

The flight was exhilarating, the wind rushing past as they ascended higher and higher. The dragons' wings sliced through the air, and the world below grew smaller, the sprawling landscape of Dragonstone giving way to the cerulean sea.

Syrax, graceful and regal, flew alongside Cannibal, their movements synchronized as though they had been born to share the sky. The playful taunts between the two dragons had transformed into a silent camaraderie.

As they journeyed toward the Red Keep, the city of King's Landing came into view, its red-tiled roofs and towering spires. The people of king's landing where confused to see a new dragon, larger than any they have seen.

Nonthless people still marveled at the sight that was Infront of them.
