The morning sun cast a warm glow over Dragonstone, its rays filtering through the windows of the room prepared for William. Seated at a desk with a quill in hand, William focused on the parchment before him, composing a letter to his father in the Stormlands. It was important for him to assure his father of his well-being.
Dear Father," he wrote, "I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am thriving here at Dragonstone and am in excellent health. As you may have heard, I am now serving as an advisor to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.
I find myself hoping that one day I can bring Rhaenyra to Storm's End, to introduce her to our family and our lands. It would be a joy to share the beauty of the Stormlands with her.
I trust that everything is well with you and the rest of our family. Please convey my warm regards to everyone
Take care, Father, and know that I carry your love with me always."
Satisfied with his words, William signed his name with a flourish and sealed the letter with wax. He hoped his father would not be worried about him.
To tell you the truth, William recognizes Boremund as his father. He had raised him with care and kindness and taught him everything he knows.
Just as he finished, the door creaked open, and Rhaenyra entered the room, her eyes meeting William's, a smile curving her lips. "Good morning, William," she greeted, her voice filled with energy. "I trust you slept well?"
Rising from his seat, William returned her smile. "Indeed, I did," he replied. "And I have just finished writing a letter to my father, assuring him of my well-being."
Rhaenyra's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "I hope your words bring him comfort," she said warmly. "Would you like to take a stroll with me?"
William smile and said, "It would be my honor, Princess." he replied, falling in step beside her.
As they meandered through the hallways of Dragonstone, a growing crowd drew their attention, all converging towards the throne room. Intrigued, Rhaenyra and William followed the murmurs, their steps blending with the hushed conversations and palpable anticipation that filled the air.
Upon entering the grand chamber, his attention was immediately drawn to Viserys, who stood in the center of the room, Infront of the throne. It became clear that something significant was unfolding.
William instantly knew what it was, Daemon has returned from the war in Step Stones.
Which lead to William narrowing his eyes. Daemon would be a threat to his relationship with Rhaenyra.
If it ever comes to a fight, William could probably win against Daemon in a fight, but adding the dragon that Dameon possess. Would leave William at a big disadvantage.
Whispered conversations pulled William out of his thoughts.
"Daemon Targaryen has returned," one voice whispered.
"The Rogue Prince is back," another exclaimed.
William protective instincts flared, he knew Daemon sees Rhaenyra more than niece. He sees her as a woman.
William vowed to himself while looking at Rhaenyra, Daemon's presence would not threaten the connection they had forged. Rhaenyra was his, and he would ensure it would stay that way.
No man was going to touch her, not Daemon, or any other man.
She was his, and his alone.
