As Courtney stands there, facing off against her father, she takes one more deep breath, as the general only smirks and chuckles arrogantly as they both wait for the battle to begin.
Eventually, Courtney decides to begin the battle with her own Aura Release, as she glared at her father. A powerful wave of energy quickly came to him, the lava general manages to notice this quickly though, countering back with his own Aura Release, causing a powerful Aura Clash, creating an extremely powerful shockwave that spread throughout the bridge, through the city, and just a huge radius all around them.
All remaining windows in the city get shattered as the shockwave passes, any remaining unstable buildings immediately crumbles into rubble. The river below them is also affected, as huge waves are generated just from the powerful shock waves generated by their Aura Clash, and the trees in the forest around them are blown away, as if a hurricane just passed by them.
Meanwhile, Gavin barely almost escapes the Aura Clash, but still gets hit as he gets blown away, now holding on for his dear life on a somehow, still-standing lamp post on the bridge, as he watches the epic face off between father and daughter.
Courtney then begins her attack, still keeping her eyes on her father as their auras continue to clash,
"Emburst!"
Courtney yells as she decides to land the first hit by blasting the general with a barrage of fireballs.
This manages to catch the lava general off guard, as one manages to land straight onto his face. But he immediately adapts, as the general easily blocks them with only his bare palms,
"Is that all you can do?"
The lava general mocks her arrogantly, as he starts to take steps towards her, blocking every fireball she tries to fire at him.
"No... however, based on the rules of fighting, you're the challenger here."
Courtney says with a hint of confidence and arrogance for the first time against he father, after managing to land the first blow.
Courtney then starts taking steps back as she continues to hold off the general by continuously blasting him with fireballs.
After a bit, she realizes she's still getting cornered back towards the edge of the collapsed bridge, when she suddenly takes a quick and sudden turn, jumping to the side as she then prepares another attack. She holds out her hand towards the sky, as she begins to absorb solar energy once again,
"Solar Beam!"
Courtney yells as she finishes charging up her attack, as she then points her other hand towards the general, blasting him with a powerful laser beam.
The general tries to defend himself as he quickly reforms one of his arms into a huge lava shield, as it starts to absorb the energy generated by the laser beam before slowly hardening. Courtney quickly cuts off her attack, as she pulls out her blazing wings once again, as she then charged at the general as he continues blocking with his shield, unable to react to her speed.
She breaks the sound barrier with each hit, and quickly follows up her combo attack by landing a powerful kick, breaking the hardened shield, as she follows up with another kick to his face.
The general gets pushed a few meters back as he quickly balances himself back, he then redirects all of the absorbed energy from the shield to his fist, as he quickly transforms his fist into a blob of lava, filled with charged up kinetic energy. Courtney quickly tries to follow up her combo with a powerful fireball once again, as she shouts,
"Emburs-"
But Courtney then gets cut off as she narrowly dodges a fast lava projectile, launched by the general.
The lava general then yells as he smashes his fists into the ground, transforming the entire remainder of the bridge into lava, as Courtney quickly flies up into the air to avoid it.
She then watches as the bridge of lava collapses into the river, releasing a large amount of steam as the lava cools. She then turns back to the general, as he quickly transforms into his complete lava form once again, as he then launches another lava projectile, but quickly fuses himself to it, making the illusion of flight as he makes his way towards the Solar Phoenix.
Courtney quickly dodges the attack once again as the general's self projectile passes by her, but then the general quickly reforms himself back into his normal form, as he quickly prepares another lava attack with his fists, launching it at her, but once again fails as Courtney dodges it.
Courtney then flies towards the general midair, as he transforms back into his lava state, hoping to avoid Courtney's attack. However, Courtney quickly uses Aura Release with a 50% output as she focuses it all directly at the general, stunning him a bit as his transformation deactivates.
As soon as this happened, Courtney quickly dashes towards the general once again, making a sonic boom as she transforms her legs into flaming phoenix talons, dropkicking the general straight into the foggy river below, as it still seems to continue to steam due to the bridge of lava earlier, as he coughs blood for the first time in a long time.
The lava general crashes onto the water below, which is also a lot shallower thanks to the cooled lava from the bridge earlier. He quickly gets up as he starts to roar out loud, throwing a tantrum and crashing out once again as he starts stomping around and smashing his fists into the floor like a child as water splashes everywhere.
Courtney hovers up above, enjoying the sight of her father acting like a sore loser, compared to his usual arrogant attitude,
"Heh, talk about a sore loser."
Courtney mocks the general as she chuckles, enraging the general even more,
"SHUT UP!"
The lava general shouts as he unintentionally releases a powerful amount of Aura, knocking Courtney down as she's forced out of her Phoenix form. The general sees this and quickly makes a move, charging up a huge lava projectile, before launching it at full power towards Courtney.
Courtney panics a bit in shock at the sight of a humongous meteor of lava being flung towards her, but she quickly manages recompose herself, flying away just in time and dodging it before she could get hit.
She then flies around the meteor towards her father, as she charges up one final attack, using up all of her remaining firepower,
"Eternal Flamethrower!!"
Courtney yells as she blasts the general with a huge beam of flames at the general. The general managed to react quickly as he managed to make another lava shield and block against the powerful fire attack. Courtney blasts the general continuously nonstop with all her energy, as she realizes she's about to go unconscious.
She then looks back up at the bridge, where she last saw Gavin, to see nothing there, she starts losing hope as she realizes Gavin isn't there for her right now, as her vision slowly starts getting blurry, and her head starting to get dizzy, when suddenly...
"Courtney! Don't give up!"
Gavin's voice shouts as Courtney manages to snap back to reality, waking up as she looks around and sees Gavin in the forest near the river, watching them behind a tree,
"You can't lose! Courtney!"
Gavin shouts at Courtney, continuing his endless support for her as he looks at her with hopeful eyes.
"Jeez... That kid again, who the hell even is that!?"
The lava general says with frustration as he continues defending against Courtney's Eternal Flamethrower.
Thanks to that last bit of motivation, Courtney took a deep breath as she focused, as she then decided to go above and beyond, going far beyond her limits as she went all-out with her attack. She yelled and roared and screamed and cried with all her might as she released all of her remaining energy into her attack, her eyes blazing with determination as she remembered, she can't lose, she never has, and if she does... She'll lose Gavin.
She focused all of her power into her Eternal Flamethrower, focusing and compressing the blast to a smaller size as the attack's power got stronger at the pressurized point, shifting from its wide, red, blast of flames, slowly into a blue beam of light.
"This... this is for ruining my life!"
She shouted as she continued to put her life and soul into the attack. The lava general staggered back as the force continues to push him back, as the shield started to crack and break,
"This is for hurting and killing all those people!"
She exclaimed as the general continues to get even more angry and angry, trying his best to keep on fighting back,
"Grr... No, no, NO, NO!"
The general exclaimed with anger and frustration as he continuously tried to keep fighting back, constantly regenerating and fixing his lava shield as he tried to move forward, but failing continuously as well as he kept getting pushed back, every layer of his shield shattering and breaking apart each second.
"And this... This, Is, For MOTHER!"
Courtney shouted with tears in her eyes, as she let out all of her pent up emotion, hatred, pain, and everything horrible throughout her life into one, final, push... Until finally...
SHOOOOOT!
The laser finally breaks the shield completely, breaking his guard as well, as the laser shoots straight into him, through his chest, through his torso, through his heart. Courtney still continues to shoot her laser with all her might, screaming and roaring at the general, as he only glares at her. He stands there, giving up on fighting back as his heart is continuously pierced with the laser attack, as he only continues to give her a look of mockery, a grin of arrogance as Courtney looks at him with hatred.
Eventually, Courtney finally runs out of energy, as her phoenix form deactivates. She falls to the shallow river, panting heavily in exhaustion, as she looks up at the general, still standing there, as he only laughs, coughing blood as he does.
"W-well done… pants You... pants Y-you..."
The lava general says with a strained voice, as he continues to chuckle weakly, applauding her as well as standing there like nothing happened.
Courtney turns to the forest where Gavin stood, as she sees him smiling proudly at her, nodding at her with the look saying,
"Great Job...!"
Courtney smiles happily, feeling a sense of satisfaction and pride as she falls back, laying there in the water. She then turns back to the general, to see him suddenly pull out a radio phone from his belt, turning it on as he seems to call someone on the other side,
"...R...R... Reinforcements...come in...over"
The lava general suddenly says with a grin, as he turns off the radio phone and drops it, as he continues to laugh and cackle arrogantly.
"W-what did you do?"
Courtney asks him weakly, yet angrily as she lays there, unable to get up as she's still exhausted. As the general continues applauding her while laughing,
"BWAHAHAHAHA, you... you FOOL!"
He mocks her with an arrogant look, as he quickly transforms into his lava state, regenerating every injury he had on his body, as Courtney watches in horror,
"Did you really think I'd lose that easily!? That all felt like a warm-up!"
The general exclaimed, all of his energy seeming to have been regained, as the sounds of helicopters can be heard up above in the steamy, foggy atmosphere of the river,
"You spent all that effort, used up all of your energy into one strong ass attack to deal a "fatal blow" to me, putting all your life and soul into it, even saying, "This is for everyone, ahhh!!", like some FUCKING SUPERHERO."
The lava general mocks all of Courtney's effort, as she just lays there in disbelief, all of her confidence, just gone, as the general continues to laugh at her.
"You did all of that, all of that, just for all that effort to crumble to dust... That battle barely lasted 10 minutes! Don't forget you bitch, I'm the LAVA FUCKING GENERAL, and I'm fucking invincible!"
Th lava general said arrogantly as he continued to stand in place,
"And don't ever, underestimate me again..."
He says with a sly, arrogant look, as he continues laughing and cackling, when ropes suddenly start drop from the sky from all directions, seeming to come from the helicopters above.
Suddenly, special forces looking soldiers start dropping down from the ropes as well, all holding their guns out as they all go towards Courtney and start pointing at her. The general then takes his heavy, prideful steps towards Courtney as he chuckles,
"You're under arrest, Courtney Magni, for 2 counts of mass genocide, and over 300 counts of robbery and theft, over 15 whole years."
The general says with an arrogant, proud look as he surrounds Courtney, along with all the soldiers, as she can only do nothing but lay there and look around her in hopelessness and despair, as there is nothing she can do...
The lava general then throws away his coat and takes off his uniform, cracking his knuckles and other joints as if he's getting pumped up,
"If you plan on going for a Round 2, I'm all for it! After all, I was just warming up..."
The general says with an arrogant smile, as Courtney only lays there, sobbing quietly.
The soldiers then tase Courtney multiple times, leading to her falling unconscious, as they take her unconscious body to the helicopters above as they finally succeed in capturing her.
Meanwhile, Gavin is still in the forest behind them this whole time, as he watches in horror as the entire moment unfolds. He falls back in shock, unable to believe what is happening, as he feels his breathing and heartbeats getting faster and heavier. His vision gets blurry as he also starts to tear up,
"N-no... Th-this can't be..."
He says to himself in a low tone as he takes one more look at the scene, as he then watches them take Courtney away by helicopter.
The lava general then follows close by as the last few of the special forces and reinforcement pack up and leave, the general looks back one more time around him, at the forest, at the rivers, everywhere he can to check in case if anyone is there, but ends up seeing no one, as he then climbs up the ropes as well, marking the leave of the military.
Gavin turns out to just be hiding behind a tree this entire time, even during the fight, barely avoiding the sight of the lava general who stupidly didn't use his Aura Release to find him, as Gavin runs away, sobbing and crying hopelessly in pain and loss.
After that, the military invasion ended, marking the end of the day, and the end of The Great Destruction of Fallis. 95% of Fallis City and its citizens were lost in one day, along with the nearby surrounding forests, most of its river and its bridge. With its previous population count of 80,000 and the added amount of around 10,000 soldiers that came with the military invasion, it all adds up to over 85,000 innocent deaths, men, women, and children, with the remaining 4,000 either severely injured or somehow managing to stay absolutely unharmed.
What started out as a normal day for everyone, ended with a city-wide funeral.
