Leon Chen found himself frustrated by the realization that he had spent so much time using his visual memory abilities that he hadn't explored the potential of his other powers. Out of the 15 abilities he had mastered, only a few were useful for combat. NO.58, cold and ice manipulation, was one, but its effect on human targets was minimal.
With no time to test new abilities, Leon decided to call Lina.
"How can I assist you, Leon?" Lina's sweet voice calmed Leon's anger slightly.
"Lina, you mentioned that you'd provide protection measures when I'm in danger, right?"
"To the best of my abilities," Lina replied.
"Good, I need your help finding an ability to attack the enemies." Leon briefly explained his situation.
Lina responded, "In response to your request, I will read the content of the '583 Sub-Rules between the Heavenly Realm and the Mortal World'…"
"There's no time for that now. Just get to the point; my friends are hostages," Leon interrupted, frowning.
"Understood." Lina quickly replied, "You currently have three after-sales services left on your watch. Are you sure you want to use one now?"
"Yes, I'm sure," Leon replied without hesitation.
"Please state your request."
Leon thought for a moment, "An ability that can instantly incapacitate enemies without causing a major disturbance…" He wanted to add that it should be safe to use in any situation but decided against it, feeling it would be too cowardly.
"Please hold on while I retrieve the data from the service library."
A few minutes later, Lina responded, "Based on your requirements for an offensive ability, there are over thirty abilities that match. Considering the extent of use and your current watch level… I have selected the two most suitable abilities for you."
"Biological Electricity Control, a mid-level ability, allows you to control the electrical currents in living organisms, capable of stunning targets instantly."
"Lightning Generation, a high-level ability, allows you to create and control electrical matter."
"Both abilities have strong electric shock characteristics and, when used appropriately, won't cause panic."
"Does the watch have both abilities?" Leon asked.
"That depends on your luck. I don't have detailed data on you. My suggestion is to use the lower-numbered abilities, as they have a higher probability." Lina explained.
"Alright, I choose Biological Electricity Control."
"Biological Electricity Control, at the blue level, can reach the stage of mind control, but for now, you need physical contact. Be careful," Lina advised.
Feeling the concern in her words, Leon took it seriously.
"Biological Electricity Control, Number 87, Ability Level: Intermediate…"
Leon activated the number, hearing the familiar, comforting voice of the application.
"First after-sales service completed!" Lina announced.
"Thank you," Leon took a deep breath.
"If you go alone, it's very dangerous. If the hostages die, the Heavenly Realm will reclaim your watch. Are you sure you don't want to use the second after-sales service? I can tell you an ability to escape safely."
"No need. I can't abandon my friends. I'm not reckless, and I know what I'm doing," Leon declined her kind offer.
"Alright, good luck," Lina sighed lightly.
Facing this situation was a first for Leon. If he were an ordinary person, he might have rushed into danger without thinking. But with 108 abilities at his disposal, he couldn't afford to be timid.
After analyzing his abilities, Leon chose the most suitable combination for the current scenario.
"NO.108: Mind Reading, activate!"
"NO.87: Biological Electricity Control, activate!"
"NO.100: Super Speed, activate!"
Mind Reading would help him distinguish friend from foe and locate targets. Biological Electricity was a powerful offensive tool. For physical support, Leon chose Super Speed over Super Reflexes.
Leon was about to make his move when he heard disturbing thoughts from outside the door, mixed with a man's sinister intentions and a woman's cries for help.
"Shut up, no one's going to save you," a rough voice yelled.
A tall man dragged a woman into the restroom. As soon as he entered, his body convulsed and he collapsed, foaming at the mouth.
The terrified woman looked in shock at the sudden turn of events, seeing a young man behind the fallen man.
"Don't scream," Leon whispered.
The woman nodded quickly.
Leon untied her and removed the gag from her mouth. She was a beautiful girl, even after seeing beauties like Grace Wang and Isabella Xiang, Leon couldn't help but admire her.
But there was no time for admiration. Seeing that she seemed to be a mall employee, Leon asked, "What's happening here?"
"I don't know. The security guards suddenly turned on us," she replied, her voice trembling.
"Calm down. Do you know where the mall's control room is?" Leon asked.
"It's on the fourth floor."
"Alright." Leon nodded. He tied up the unconscious man. These guys were well-equipped; it seemed that Xi Jing would undergo a major cleanup after this incident.
Leon grabbed an iron rod. Though Biological Electricity Control required contact, using metal as a conductor, he could turn it into an electric baton, reducing suspicion.
"Where are you going?" the girl asked fearfully, grabbing his sleeve as if he were her lifeline.
"I need to save my friends," Leon understood her fear. Staying alone might lead to a breakdown.
"The police will come. Let's hide together," the girl suggested, trying to control her fear.
Leon looked around the restroom. Climbing onto a beam, he dismantled the ventilation grille. The girl didn't know what he was doing but knew he was her only hope.
"Hide in here. If you stay quiet, no one will find you. This will be over soon," Leon reassured.
The girl clutched his sleeve, "Aren't you coming in?"
"I have to find my friends." Leon reattached the grille.
"Be careful!" she whispered.
Leon changed into the unconscious man's uniform and hid him, then cautiously left the restroom.
He made his way down a corridor, heading toward the control room.
He figured the terrorists would control the control room first to monitor the mall.
Leon carefully avoided the cameras, walking a dozen meters.
'If we catch XO, we'll be rich. I could get a few million dollars and live it up,' a clear thought entered Leon's mind, indicating that an enemy was around the corner.
Leon took a deep breath, lowered his head, and walked out. Sure enough, there was an armed man on the upper floor.
"If we catch that hacker, we'll be rich." Leon deliberately lowered his voice.
The man nodded, thinking he was a comrade. "The leader said we need to do our jobs right to survive and get our share."
"Pretty disciplined," Leon smiled.
"What?" The man sensed something wrong. Just as he raised his gun, Leon's speed made him disappear in an instant. An iron rod touched the man, and a powerful electric current rendered him unconscious, collapsing with a thud.
Leon didn't have time to relax as another hostile thought from behind a door suddenly approached.
