"Since the night of the Nine-Tails attack, the relationship between the Uchiha and the village has become increasingly tense. Shisui, I hope you understand my intentions. What I'm doing is for the sake of the village."

"Hokage-sama, I will further investigate and remind Kazuki, but I believe he won't do anything out of line."

It was time to take a stand and choose a side again. As always, Shisui chose to side with the higher-ups.

Leaving the Hokage's office building, Shisui felt a bit down.

The Third Hokage had asked him for a lot of information about the Uchiha clan and hoped he could gather even more.

This put Shisui in a difficult position.

The fundamental reason he became a double agent was that he wanted to resolve the tense relationship between the village and the clan, not truly betray his clan.

With a heavy heart, Shisui returned to the police force.

Given the tense relationship between the village and the clan, his influence was minimal.

The higher-ups were wary of him, and most of the clan elders didn't support him.

Even the clan leader, Uchiha Fugaku, was wavering.

"Forget it, I'll talk to Kazuki first."

Unfortunately, Shisui's arrival was not welcomed.

Opening the door, the tower-like Uchiha Jiho's face immediately fell. His massive body blocked the way, and he asked in a disdainful tone:

"What are you doing here?"

Faced with such a hostile attitude from his clansman, Shisui sighed inwardly.

Ever since he started speaking for the village and suggesting measures beneficial to it, dissatisfaction within the clan towards him had grown, with some openly mocking him as a traitor.

Suppressing his frustration, Shisui said seriously, "I need to talk to Kazuki. Are you going to block me here?"

"You're not welcome here."

Jiho's face remained dark, showing no intention of letting him through.

Seeing the two of them at a stalemate, with neither willing to back down, Kazuki opened the door and came out of his office.

"Are you two planning to fight?"

Leaning against the doorframe, Kazuki looked amusedly at the two who wouldn't back down.

As a squad leader of the police force, Shisui naturally couldn't back down easily.

As for Jiho, due to some personal reasons, his attitude towards Shisui was always hostile, and whenever they met, they never got along.

"You're lucky."

Glaring at Shisui, Jiho reluctantly stepped aside.

Kazuki stepped forward and asked, "Do you need something?"

"Can we talk somewhere private?" Shisui tilted his head.

"Sure."

After considering for a few seconds, Kazuki didn't refuse.

He also wanted to know why Shisui was looking for him. Was it because of the Anbu and the Third Hokage?

It shouldn't be, he hadn't even approached Naruto. Was it really necessary to be that cautious?

The two left the police force together, and after a silent walk, Shisui suddenly said, "Jiho has changed a lot."

"Not too much. After my guidance, that guy finally started using his brain a bit."

Kazuki responded indifferently. They walked to the edge of the clan, into a secluded forest, stopping at a hidden training ground.

The training ground still had many broken targets, indicating it was Shisui's secret training base.

Bending down to tidy up the broken stumps and targets, Shisui had a sincere smile on his face, wiped the sweat from his forehead, placed his hands on his hips, and reminisced:

"This is a place Itachi and I often came to."

Kazuki nodded slightly:

"I heard the young master has already passed the solo Chunin exam and even set a new record."

"..."

Shisui's mouth twitched. He knew Itachi didn't like being addressed like that.

"Yes, he has graduated. He has left his ninja team, and his next assignment depends on the clan leader's arrangement."

Without dwelling on Itachi, Shisui got straight to the point:

"Kazuki, your actions are very dangerous. The village won't allow Uchiha members to approach Naruto And the Anbu are tracking you."

Just as expected.

A hint of amusement flashed in Kazuki's eyes. Feigning contemplation, he raised his hands, lightly pinching his chin with his right thumb and forefinger, and asked curiously:

"Due to the Nine-Tails incident, the village is very wary of the Uchiha and has been monitoring us. This is common knowledge. The question is, when have I, Uchiha Kazuki, ever approached Naruto?"

"Is it just because I have breakfast across from the ninja academy?"

"..."

I give up on you!!

Shisui wanted to roll his eyes. This reason was both strong and frustrating, leaving him at a loss for words.

Konoha indeed had no restriction on anyone going to the ninja academy. Not to mention having breakfast, even if Kazuki idly wandered around the academy every day, no one would say anything.

At most, he would be watched by the Anbu.

As an Uchiha, was it strange to be watched by the Anbu?

"You don't have to go every day during school hours. Kazuki, are you there just to eat, or do you have another purpose?"

Shisui continued to probe:

"Given the current relationship between the clan and the village, any unintentional actions or mistakes can exacerbate this tension and mistrust, so I hope you can..."

"Are you telling me how to do things?"

Kazuki's voice turned cold, and his gaze towards Shisui grew displeased:

"I, Uchiha Kazuki, do not need anyone to tell me what to do."

"Kazuki, that's not what I meant. I just..." Shisui quickly tried to explain.

Kazuki interrupted him.

"Also, remember your status. You have no right to tell me what to do or not to do. If you want to order me around, wait until you become the clan leader."

Their conversation ended unpleasantly, and Kazuki left. Shisui, feeling somewhat defeated, sat on a pitted stump, scratching his head in frustration, and smiled bitterly

"Itachi, am I a failure?"

In the forest not far from the training ground, Itachi, who had arrived earlier but hadn't revealed himself, slowly walked out of the shadows.

"Shisui, perhaps Hokage-sama is being overly sensitive?"

Itachi understood Shisui's frustration.

After all, they were on the same side.

Itachi had also heard about Kazuki's strange behavior. Although Kazuki had not approached Naruto, the higher-ups had approached Shisui about it.

Caught in the middle, Shisui had hoped to resolve this through a conversation.

Unfortunately, he had failed.
