"Hopefully, that's the case."

Shisui quickly shook off his gloomy thoughts, flashed his usual bright smile, patted Itachi on the shoulder, and teased:

"Not bad! You've set a new record. Are you planning to join the police force next?"

Itachi, who had always seen Shisui as an older brother and friend, couldn't help but roll his eyes at this comment.

"I have to wait for Father's arrangements."

As a member of the Uchiha clan, a genius, and the clan leader's son, Itachi had no choice but to silently accept the family's decisions.

"Are we training today?"

"Yes."

After his unpleasant encounter with Shisui, Kazuki thought about many things on his way back to the police force. The time left to him was growing shorter.

Now that Itachi had passed the Chunin exam, the time for him to join the Anbu was drawing closer.

Having unexpectedly transmigrated into the Naruto world and becoming a member of the Uchiha clan, anyone would find it difficult to be happy about it.

The most troubling aspect was the timeline.

If he had arrived a bit earlier, it would have been fine!

But he had arrived several years after the Nine-Tails night, with only three years left until the Uchiha clan massacre.

If he did nothing and allowed events to unfold as in the original story, the massacre would be inevitable.

Even if Obito, that black-hearted boy, changed his mind or was too lazy to deal with the Uchiha, Danzo, the snake hiding in the shadows, would not spare the Uchiha.

Someone needed to step up and overturn the table.

After six months of contemplation, Kazuki realized that there were ways for the Uchiha to get out of their current predicament.

It just required someone to step up and do some earth-shattering things.

For example, starting by overturning the table at the clan meeting.

Since changing the higher-ups' targeting of the Uchiha wasn't feasible, the solution had to come from within the Uchiha.

Kazuki didn't believe that Danzo would dare to raise a butcher's knife against a united Uchiha.

If the Uchiha were truly united, Danzo wouldn't dare to even think about it. If the Uchiha stomped their foot, the Third Hokage would be terrified.

"Captain, that bastard didn't say anything, did he?"

When Kazuki returned to the police force, Jiho immediately asked.

"It's fine, just casual chatting."

Smiling, Kazuki patted Jiho's shoulder to reassure him:

"Everyone, today's patrol is starting. We have a clan meeting tonight, so let's finish the patrol tasks early. Also, keep urging the personnel department. They're taking too long to select someone. What are they doing?"

The patrol tasks went smoothly, and no one in the area managed by the third squad gave Kazuki any trouble.

With the patrols done, the day's work was over.

As night fell, Kazuki, freshly washed and in clean clothes, headed to the clan shrine.

After the Senju clan became civilians, apart from the shameless Sarutobi clan posing as a civilian clan, the Uchiha were clearly the most prominent family in Konoha.

Even so, those who could enter the clan shrine to attend the clan meeting were still few.

Compared to the living areas, the vicinity of the Uchiha shrine was very quiet.

As usual, the seats representing the clan leader and a few elders were still empty, while most of the other seats were already filled.

Shisui was among them. It was noticeable that the younger generation of strong clan members didn't like sitting with Shisui.

"Captain, over here."

Kazuki arrived, and Jiho, who had arrived earlier, waved eagerly. Several people were gathered around him.

Shisui nodded slightly, but Kazuki ignored him.

Kazuki walked straight towards Jiho, making it clear to Shisui that he was still angry about what happened during the day and wasn't going to let it go easily. Shisui should understand his own situation in the clan.

"Captain, that bastard is about to become a loner."

"Yeah."

Kazuki, who wasn't focused on Shisui, responded indifferently.

He was thinking about how to lay his cards on the table later.

If things went as expected, once the elders and the clan leader arrived, the usual arguments at the monthly Uchiha clan meeting would resume.

Don't be fooled by the fact that the Uchiha are just a ninja clan; they have plenty of internal issues and factions.

There were the doves, represented by Shisui, the hardliners led by the Great Elder, and the neutral faction represented by Clan Leader Fugaku.

These three factions were always at odds during clan meetings.

The hardliners accused the doves of betraying the clan, the doves accused the hardliners of wanting to stage a coup, which would lead the clan into the abyss, and the neutrals would just watch the show unless the clan leader took a stand.

Realizing that Kazuki wasn't in the mood for a show, Jiho quickly quieted down and whispered with the others.

Soon, the elders arrived, and after they took their seats, Clan Leader Fugaku arrived last with his entourage.

Sitting in the clan leader's seat, Fugaku glanced around the small shrine meeting room and began:

"Everyone who should be here is here, so let's start today's clan meeting. Anyone with something to say, speak up."

"Clan Leader."

As soon as Fugaku finished speaking, the Sixth Elder was the first to jump up and complain:

"This month, our Uchiha police force has received an increasing number of complaints about violent enforcement at the Hokage's office. If we don't control this, over time, the relationship between the Uchiha and the villagers will only get worse."

The same old problem.

Violent enforcement had always been a concern for the Uchiha.

Even if the Uchiha restrained themselves, complaints continued to pour in.

"I will have someone look into this. We need to trust Hokage-sama. Also, all squad leaders should manage their teams well to reduce complaints from the villagers."

It was an old problem with no solution in sight, so Fugaku could only pass the buck.

Hearing this, the Sixth Elder nodded in satisfaction, but those working in the police force weren't pleased.

Shisui was the only exception, as he had always suggested that clan members be more humane and gentle when enforcing the law, hoping to improve the villagers' poor impression of the Uchiha.

Many were unhappy but couldn't openly object, so they grudgingly accepted it.

Of course, they would handle things as they saw fit afterward.

You couldn't expect the Uchiha to act like saints just because of a few complaints, right?

If that were possible, the complaint issue wouldn't have dragged on until today.

"Then..."

Successfully passing the buck, Fugaku was about to move on to the next topic.

"Why should we?"

"Uh..."

The sudden question caught everyone off guard, even Jiho, sitting next to Kazuki with a sour expression, was wide-eyed in shock, staring at Kazuki in disbelief.

It seemed unbelievable that their captain would question the elders and clan leader over the complaint issue.

Fugaku, who was about to announce the next item, was stunned.

The elders also looked at Kazuki in surprise.

For a moment, all eyes were on Kazuki.

"Kazuki, are you questioning my decision?"

After a moment of hesitation, Fugaku asked.

Facing everyone's gaze, Kazuki calmly replied

"Yes, I just want to ask, why?"

"..."

Kazuki, usually quiet, issued a strong challenge, leaving many stunned.
