Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Dylan

Out of ten people in a dorm quarter, six are werewolves. And out of those six werewolves is one Alpha who feeds on the energy of the four other humans in the dorm. It's nothing much, just how the world has turned out to be. The Alphas needed human energy to become stronger. It's more like we rely on Humans which is why I don't like to feed on human energy but my father has insisted, claiming I needed to become stronger to be able to lead my pack in the future.

Werewolves are slowly taking over but no human is ready for that discussion yet since they all believe werewolves are a thing of centuries back and werewolves don't exist anymore. Just as we exist, so does vampires too, but no one is ready for that conversation too.

Walking through the sea of students, I never thought I'd have to ever attend college. But my father had insisted since the best and most energy are stored in human youths. So basically, I'm not here to study but to feed on human energy. Doesn't mean I wouldn't get to ace my academics though.

My father is wrong however, because among these youths, there's little to no energy left. They're all drained.

"Hey man! Wanna go to class together?" A middle height guy with shiny black eyes approached me.

"But I don't know you." I said, my nose scrunching up in discomfort.

"Eiii! C'mon man! You're a loner, I'm a loner too. Besides we're roomies, best buddies yeah?" He nudged me in a friendly manner.

There was a lot of energy oozing from him. He seemed to be the hyper type of guy. I guess hanging out with him wouldn't be so bad after all.

"Well, yeah I guess." I grimaced.

Oz, my inner wolf groaned in discord, he hates clingy humans.

'Calm down Oz, he has alot of energy, he won't be so useless after all.'

Every wolf has two different sides of him, the human side which I happen to be, and the wolf side, that's Oz. We practically live in the same body. When I'm in my human form, I'm in control, and when I'm in my wolf form, Oz is in control. It's on rare cases that Oz takes control of our human form, but we both are aware of everything around us at the same time.

"Good! So what's your major?" He hung his arm around my neck, well at least he tried to because he couldn't. There was a huge difference in our height. His head was just about my arm.

"Man you're so tall." He whispered and kept his hands to him self. "Do you work out? Why am I even asking, you obviously do. You see, no matter how much I take supplements. I can't seem to ever grow tall." He ranted and sulked.

He talked too much.

"Business Administration." I said simply.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"You asked for my major."

"Ohhh…oh..I'm also in the Business Administration!! Isn't that great??! Fate is it?" He exclaimed joyfully.

I nodded.

"I think this is the first class." I stopped in front of a huge door. Few students were trooping in.

"Yep! Let's go in." He linked his arm with mine and dragged me into the class. He's like a happy little kid.

We found seats and sat, waiting for the lecturer to come in.

If you were wondering why I chose BA, my father is a businessman. A huge business tycoon at that. Yes, a werewolf who is a businessman. Like I said, werewolves are taking over and this is just normal among werewolves. Working and living like humans.

The short dude kept on rambling about how his mum had forced him to take a bitter herbal medicine before resuming school. Come to think of it, I don't even know his name.

"Hey shorty. What's your name?"

He gasped dramatically.

"Did you just call me shorty?" He smacked my arm and put his hand over his mouth dramatically.

I couldn't help but laugh at this silly action of his.

"Well if it's you, I guess I'll allow you to call me shorty. Then I'll call you Palmtree. That's our nicknames for each other. My name's Finn by the way." He grinned.

"Just call me Dylan." I said.

"Is that your nickname?"

"No. My real name."

"What?? So you want me to call you Dylan while you call me shorty? Not fair!" He pouted.

"What are you? A baby? Calling someone Palmtree doesn't even make any sense." I said chuckling. "Didn't say I'll call you Shorty though, I didn't know your name. But now that I do, I'll still call you shorty cause it fits you." I grinned.

"Don't grin, you look scary." He winced.

"Really?" I whispered.

"Ugh! Don't whisper in my ears like that! That's my weak point." He whisper yelled to avoid the students seating near to us hear.

I laughed.

"Really? But I'm a guy. That shouldn't turn you on." I chuckled.

"I'm gay." He blurted.

"Oh cool." I nodded.

"What? That's all you're going to say? You're not… disgusted?" He asked.

"Disgusted? Because you're gay? It's nothing bad. You telling me bravely that you're gay is impressive. I like your confidence." I said simply.

"Oh Dylan!" He smacked my arm dramatically, again and wiped imaginary tears from his eyes.

"Please don't be so dramatic." I laughed.

"This means a lot to me, really. All the people around me left when they found out I was…into my fellow dude." He said looking down.

"Nahhhh, come on. I won't leave you shorty." I wrapped my arm around his neck and ruffled his hair.

I mean, they were a couple of same sex couple among werewolves even though it was somehow forbidden. So it's nothing bad after all.

Plus, I liked this short dude. He was lively and full of energy. This was the first time I get along with an human quite well.

Still in thoughts, I suddenly felt an extremely strong energy. My sight, hearing and sense of smell got sharper for a brief moment. I looked around frantically, searching for who just entered the lecture hall with that amount of energy.

Finn must have noticed my strange behavior.

"Hey, is something wrong?" He asked, also looking around trying to pinpoint what I was looking around for.

I let out a huge breath.

"It's nothing." I said, turning to him with a smile. He gave me a weird look.

The entrance of the lecturer turned our attention to the front of the class.

A tall slender man with thick pair of glasses entered the class with a tablet in hand.

"Hello students. Welcome to your first class this new session in this prestigious higher institution. I'm Mr Dallas as many of you know and I'll be taking you…."

My thoughts took over, blocking out the words of the teacher.

Who could have possessed that enormous amount of energy? There were so many students in the lecture hall with different types of energy oozing out from who ever so I can't even pinpoint who it is.

'Who's energy is that Dylan? I want!' Oz told me, telepathically.

Still looking around, my eyes suddenly met hers for a brief second. She instantly looked away as soon as my eyes met hers.

Who was that? And was she looking at me before I caught her?
