After a quiet boat ride and arriving at Hogwarts, Vincent was awestruck by the castle's grandeur. The towering spires, the ancient stone walls, and the flickering torches all created an atmosphere of mystery and magic.
He joined the other first-years for the sorting ceremony, his mind racing with possibilities. The Great Hall was filled with students, their eyes all on the new arrivals. The ceiling, enchanted to look like the night sky, added to the sense of wonder.
The usual people got sorted into their house, when Potter got sorted into Gryffindor the cheer was really big.
When it was his turn, McGonagall put the Sorting Hat on his head and his occlumency shield did not actually work against the hat, he felt the hat looking through his memories and in less than 3 seconds the hat declared, "Slytherin!" The Slytherin table erupted in cheers as Vincent joined his new housemates.
He walked over to the Slytherin table, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. The students welcomed him with a mix of curiosity and indifference, and he quickly found a seat among them.
The rest of the meal passed in a blur of introductions and conversations. He mostly talked with another first year student called Blaise Zabini. Vincent listened carefully, noting the dynamics within the house and the attitudes of his new peers.
He got escorted to the Slytherin dungeons by their prefect, and after finding a room and making himself comfortable he went to sleep as he had a busy day ahead tomorrow with classes and getting to know where they actually were.
After two weeks had passed by, Vincent had adapted to Hogwarts life. His keen intellect and disciplined approach earned him the favor of his teachers, including the notoriously difficult Professor Snape.
During a Potions class, Snape's sharp eyes seemed to focus on Vincent more than the other students. "Mr. Van Doren," Snape drawled, "let's see if you can answer this. What is the primary ingredient in a Polyjuice Potion?"
"Fluxweed, sir," Vincent replied confidently. "It must be picked at the full moon."
Snape's eyes narrowed, but he gave a curt nod. "Correct."
His current potions partner Blaise snorted "will you ever get a question wrong?"
Vincent grinned and said "Nobody is perfect."
As the days passed by something had happened In Slytherin House, news of his status as a Muggleborn had reached the ears of those in the house that did not like that very much, but the majority seemed to either not car or pretend very well, and he had credit since he was the best first year student in school right now and the points he was giving Slytherin house were good,
One day after class, Malfoy and his goons cornered him in the common room clearly trying to show off to the other and as Slytherin they needed to keep a united front to the other houses so any in house mostly happened in the common room.
Malfoy started by saying, "Well Vincent you had me fooled for a couple of weeks there, I really thought you were one of us a pureblood from a forgotten house but as it turned out you're a Mudblood."
Malfoy probably thought that name calling would get a reaction out of Vincent but he just let out a sigh and said "look Malfoy, I'm don't have the time or energy to waste on you and your limited intellect, if your supposed pureblood is superior how am i beating your grades in every single school subject?" After that Vincent made a move to try and step forward out of their blockade.
Vincent's answer actually made some of the other members of the house start to snicker at Malfoy since he was indeed losing to Vincent in every single subject.
Malfoy was irate and drew his wand and pointed at Vincent.
"You think you're so special, don't you?" Malfoy sneered. "Just because you got a few answers right in class does not change that you are a Mudblood."
Vincent remained calm. He stealthy brought his wand to his hand but it was hidden by the robe, his eyes fixed on Malfoy and he said. "Really Malfoy drawing your wand? Such a brash reaction, I wonder how you ended up in Slytherin. You clearly would fit better in Gryffindor."
Malfoy's face twisted with anger. "You filthy Mudblood."
He was about to cast a spell on Vincent.
Vincent disarmed Malfoy with Expelliarmus and did the same for his goons that had also taken their wands out and followed that by throwing a stunner at them and Malfoy, an amazing display of magical prowess, he could hear some gasps coming from the other house members watching this debacle.
Draco was on the ground and looking down after the stunner had hit him hard. He heard steps coming his way and looked up to see Vincent standing over him; it actually made Draco feel a deep sense of fear, those blue eyes did not look human, they made him feel weak.
Vincent grabs Malfoy by the hair and say, "don't fuck with me Malfoy you don't know how far I will go, your daddy will not be able to save you before I reach you if you mouth a word of this to him, so keep that in mind next time you're thinking about acting foolish"
And with that he let go of Malfoy's hair and threw him on the floor and left to his room, the rest of the people in the common room were in a bit of shock of how fast Vincent had dealt with Malfoy and his goons.
Vincent knew that he needed to do that and exaggerate a bit to gain some respect and keep those blood purist out of his way for a while, after all children don't learn.
