The pain made Risha gasp. Her loud scream even made her family astonished. Well,Risha was sure they weren't her family but had no idea what else she could call them. Due to that, she once again heard those mental voices, deep and shrewd.
"What just happened? "
"Is she just a late bloomer? Were we worried for nothing? "
"Did she just have a slow growth? "
"I knew it. Useless brat!"
"But where is her call?"
"Aaah, you crazy...!"
It stopped again with their pained expression. It was not natural. Their hand and feet twisted backward, black veins showed beneath their skin. All of a sudden,it turned normal. And then Risha was exposed to their scared gaze. Though it didn't last long. With a careful approach, the one looking like Ahnaf Haydar asked, "You...who are you? "
This time, Risha had full control over her body. She was trembling, suffering from a mental breakdown. Just what on earth was happening? Her bestfriend died like that. Strange substance falling upon people and probably hurting them. Her family of seventeen years looked so unfamiliar. They had exact same face, same voice, same built yet it felt all too strange. The vibe she was getting from them was not that of a family but that of a stranger. It felt like she didn't know them anymore. Being on the verge of crying, she restrained herself and asked back, " Who are you? Where are my family? What did you do to them? "
Her voice was firm, hiding her shaken mentality. Hearing her, they glanced at each other and in a split second, Risha was hit. The one hitting her was Maisha Alam, the mother. She hit with a inhumane force causing Risha's face to bleed awfully. It bled from her forehead, her nose and even her cheek. Risha felt her nose was broken. She had difficulty in breathing. Blood fell into her eyes making her vision blurry. She didn't have enough time to react and the another hit landed. And then three of them beat her throughly one after another, each hit falling with precision leaving Risha in an unending nightmare. Risha couldn't believe it, the very people unable to even scold her was beating her so ruthlessly. Even death wouldn't been less painful than this. Exceeding her physical pain, she felt her heart being ripped apart.
"Why is she still here?"
"That brat is still not here!"
"Can human sustain this much harm?"
"Hey, why don't you just die?"
"Oh, just die already!! "
'Yeah right, why don't I die yet?' Risha thought, 'How long will it last? My family... no, are they even my family? '
Beaten black and blue, her eyes black as night was switching back and forth between absolute despair and extreme anger. She said, "Since I'm not dying and you are tired, why don't we chat?"
Her face was covered in bruises, stained with blood ; one of her eyes was closed. Her lips curled into a smile. That moment Risha forgot her pain, her despair, her anger. Her stare was bewildered as if she had lost her mind. Even her assaulters were taken aback by her response. She struggled before sitting against the broken chair, it was broken by beating Risha. Risha was bleeding a lot but she didn't care. It was as if she had lost her mind. She smiled again saying, "What's up? You're gonna kill me anyways. Can't you satisfy my curiosity before? Hey, the one looking like my brother, tell me. Did you disguise yourselves? Did you kill them? How did you do it? "
With a smiling innocent face, Shaon replied, "What are you saying, appi?I am your litter brother? Did you forget?"
He had a wicked glim in his eyes. He was enjoying her. Eyeing others, he thought, 'It would be fun to play with her. Let's delay a little and humble ourselves to act as human, her damned family. We're in their body anyways. As fun as it would be, we may even get some information from her'
Little did they know their thoughts were all exposed to her like an open book. She smiled more and said, "So you are not human.Then... what are you? Wait, let me guess. Ummm... I got it. That black smoke, were it you guys? Or was it just a mean to get into these bodies. You are parasites, aren't you?"
His smile faded and his eyes were looking so intently. Was she able to read their mind? Risha, who had no intention to hide the fact, threw some liquid blood off her face and said, "Tell me, parasite brother. You don't plan to be mute, do you?"
She was not on her right mind and having lost her family and with the hypothesis that everyone most probably faced the same the same ending. The bodies were taken over by the parasites, leaving an empty shell. She didn't know anyone anymore. She no longer cared about her own life. A stroke of fire has been lit inside her. She wanted revenge but how? Coincidentally she was alive till now but how long she would last? What if they were toying with her all along?
'It will end if I just die.', part of her said.
'But then it would be all over. All hope will be gone.' another part cried.
'But I don't make any difference.'
'Being just alive makes a difference. It means they haven't succeeded yet.'
'But they will. My life is practically on their hands.'
Risha's internal conflict continued while she heard a voice inside her, "Call him."
It was the force that was struggling to come out of her. It was the one who said her family died. Who was it?
A sudden shot of pain coursed through her body. A broken piece of chair was stabbed into her throat. Maisha Alam was grinding her teeth.
"Just die, girl."
Blood flowed like river, Risha was lying on floor, unable to move.
'Is this the end? It hurts so much.' Tears flew down her face. And subconsciously, she called, "...N-noah"
An explosion happened. Everything was covered in fog and a voice was heard.
