Chereads / The Doctor’s Second Love / Chapter 52 - Chapter 51

Chapter 52 - Chapter 51

"What exactly are we here for?" I asked myself to get to the backyard's balcony. The balcony is long and stretches across the roof of the bungalow. Other people were sitting on summer seats by their doors, watching the beauty of the pool, the coconut trees with so many lights, and many people swimming in the big pool.

"Hello." A man said. He was standing by his door, his room was close to mine, but on the left side, that should be room 20.

I smiled at him and focused on watching those who were having fun in the pool, and it was then I saw him, sitting at the edge of the pool, with another lean white man, or, maybe I should say slim because he wasn't that bony, and with the way he moved his head while he spoke, he looked like one silly pawn of a friend.

"Hey, don't you understand English, should I speak French?" the man who was talking hollered from his corner. I knew he could just walk over to me and pull me by the arm to shun me for ignoring him, but I merely wanted him to dare.

I can't remember the last time I held a man by the arm and put his head hard on the railings of a balcony. That's unfortunately the dark part of me, the part of me I keep hidden. Violent and wicked when dealing with assholes like the man yelling.

"Come on, there are ladies here who are far better than you can ever be in your damn life." He pointed at my waist. I could see him with a side eye. "You aren't even curvy, look that little thing you have back there like a roasted fowl."

That was painful to hear, but I remained quiet till the man I had been watching all the while the other fellow was yelling, left the pool with his slim friend.

"Come on, you can come over if you feel horny, I can help satisfy your sexual craving, and I can pay you a good deal, and your man can't fight me for doing you good." Said the loudmouth. "Just come over when you deem it necessary."

He returned to his room and shut the door.

I took a deep breath as his door rattled against its post. That's the big bad thing about existing amid people very much beyond the class my mother deemed elite.

Being with the class mother deemed elites was like being in heaven, because you will barely have anyone pointing at your waist and telling you how small and unshaped your ass is, but being with the elites is the best way of mingling with the devil himself.

They are far worse than the lesser demons which includes the man who used those silly words on me, but I wasn't going to take all those silly words. I must do something to him, so he would know I don't need a man to fight for me.

Three knocks and his door opened, and with a smile, I hooked him, but with a kick below the belt, I made him fall back in his room, sparing me the chance to walk into his room like it was mine, and like a punisher, I kicked his face and he landed on the floor.

"Choose between two," I said with a wicked smile. "Either you learn to mind your business, or I make you rot in jail."

He looked up painfully. He had not seen my face that well when he was spilling all the silly things he had in stock, but now, he seemed to have realized who he messed with.

"You?" his face suddenly broke into a smile. "You could kick a man below the belt, but you don't look like you can kill a fly."

"I believe you heard me already," I added. "Learn to mind yourself, else, I can get all the police in the world to deal with you."

I opened the door and walked away. My business with him was fair. I didn't do as much as I could have done those days when I was fresh from training. The days when I go on tough missions and turn the world dark for the bad guys without taking a look at their pulse.

As for his door, I gave it so much care by shutting it gently before I edged off into the first space. I want to look for the doctor from room to room.

He must be part of our team at the charity house who had come for the outreach. He must be part of the medical team, and he must be here for the lame and those with bone issues.

I knocked at the room three rooms away from mine. The occupants opened the door. a man and a lady, both half-naked, clinging to each other like pigeons.

"How may we help you?" the lady asked with a lustful smile.

"Sorry, I was looking for someone," I replied.

"And that might be us, if possible, a popular politician and daughter of one of the biggest of them all." Said the man.

I smiled. It's quite a thing that many people here know me.

"Sorry, I don't mean to disturb your night," I replied.

"There is a club here, the person you are after might be there, especially if he is among those white fellows that frequent this place just to go him with pictures of poor Kro people dealing with what life shoved at them as daily bidding at the coast." Said the man.

I raised a brow. There were many white people at the pool when I looked out through the balcony. They might all be at the club, every one of them, including Alessandro Greco.

"Okay, thanks for the advice." I smiled and walked away from them. the sound of their door against its post said the rest.
