"Now in front of us is the palace where the family of Lupus lives. They are the caretakers of this world, and we all owe a great deal of respect to them for maintaining the balance of power in this section of The Terran Collective." the female that rescued me said as she let Nova and I into the main structure that was beside the port that we had landed on.
The building looked like a massive set of archways. I noticed that the metal was colored a cyan blue. Above each one of the archways that were on the building, there also were white colored diamonds at the top of them.
Around this building, I saw that there was a set of white wolves that guarded the building, and they did not react to us walking past them. As I walked by these wolves I was amazed by their white fur because I could tell that they were well-treated, and that they had obviously seen battle.
This told me that the wolves were mostly a part of the life and the culture of those who work under The House of Lupus.
I followed the captain with Nova clinging to my side and occasionally looking deeply into my eyes to ensure me that I was in a safe area and that there were no Vordonians around me to fear here on the planet that was going to become our new home.
As I followed the captain through the castle, I noticed the flooring was made of marble I was assumed to show the wealth of this household; the area around me was full of rare-looking statues of different human people on both sides. On the left side, I saw male statues while the female statues were on the right side.
"All of these statues in this room are of the different lords and ladies of The House of Lupus. The pair of statues that are the furthest from the port are the statues of the newest leaders of this house".
The statues that were at the end of the hallway were of a short and fat man who had a goatee and was bald. He was wearing a robe of fur that had a wolf symbol in the chest area. He was wearing fancy dress shoes. The female was tall and slim with long, thick, and curly hair that went down to her waste. She was wearing a loose dress that seemed to flow over her body.
"Hello; what floor do you want to go to?" an AI voice asked as Nova and I approached an elevator that was at the end of the hallway.
"We would like to go to the gateway floor". The captain said in response to the AI.
The door quickly closed behind us and the elevator began to move downwards followed by a sharp shift to the left before stopping.
When the door opened, I noticed that we were no longer within the palace area of the house of Lupus. I was now on a road that looked very well-maintained.
As I started to stroll down the road the captain started to talk about how the people of The House of Lupus were divided into different groups.
"In the society of this world, our citizens are divided into different rings of the city depending on the kind of talent that you have received after you went through the Klitron process in your home world.
In our lower ring on the outskirts of the town, it is mostly a Frozen land with limited vegetation. This region is reserved for all criminals and all of those who fail their leaders in completing their function for The House of Lupus.
The second ring is reserved for all our low-class citizens who do not have that important of jobs but are still legal and have not committed any kind of crimes against The House of Lupus. They get access to the common market and decent housing.
The next ring is reserved for our middle-class citizens. This ring mostly consists of our weapon smiths, our armor smiths, our merchants, and finally the members of our strike forces.
Those who are part of our high society are our governors, lawyers, healers, specialists, and those of high importance to the survival of our planet." She said as we stepped out of
"You know what that means Nova. that we have chosen the right house to join." her as I looked at her while we were walking down the main road.
"I would be happy anywhere as long as I am with you". Nova said to me as she looked very passionately at me.
"Now as new citizens of this world, the first thing you are required to do is to go to our low society ring and register as citizens. After you do that, they will give you a scouter. with this device you will be able to translate any language into whichever language you are fluent in. and it is also used to allow access to the sections of the world that are allowed by those of your job description." The captain said as she kept walking us down the main road and we stopped at each one of the gates the guards gave us access after he showed his ID badge and explained the situation to him.
As I walked down the main road, I noticed that after each one of the barriers was passed the architecture seemed to devolve and get worse proving the accuracy of the statement that he had made about the rings of society in this world dividing everyone.
When we made it to the lower ring of society all the structures were made mostly of wood instead of metal and they were not very well lit up. This made me happy that I had been given such a rare talent.
After I got registered, I would never plan to visit the slums of this world ever again.
"Now you need to go to the main building of registration at the end of this main road. There are three lines of separation to help speed up the process. The first one is for newcomers who are not married. The middle line is for those who are married or plan to be married. The final one on the right side is for those who have gone through the right of Spiritual Transference.
So, make sure that you are in the appropriate line and I will be going my way now just ensure that you show up for your work tomorrow morning." she said to both of us.
"What is the right of Spiritual Transference?" I asked her because I wanted to know about the customs of the world that Nova and I had joined.
"I hope that you will not ever need to learn what The Right of Spiritual Transference is meant for." She said as she started to back away and waved at us as she went away to the gate out of the lower ring.
After he left Nova and I got in the center line since we were planning to get married. After all, we have been waiting for this moment for four years now as a couple.
The building that I had to enter was made of metal, and had two floors and four entrances to go through to control the active traffic.
"Can you not believe it; we're about to make it official. We are going to become members that work under The House of Lupus". Nova said with a look of excitement across her face as she hugged me tightly.
"At least I can say is that I definitely would not make this decision with anyone except you, and if anything were to happen to you after we officially tie the knot, I do not know what I would do as a result; since you are the most important person to me that I have ever met."
It took almost a full hour for the line to shorten to the point where Nova and I were able to make it inside the building.
The inside was wooden and there was a massive wooden table that stretched from one end of the room to the other.
"Hello; what is your function in the Terran Collective". a middle-aged male said in a very monotone voice as he looked up at me from behind the wooden table.
"We are both healers, and we also plan to get married as soon as possible". I told him as I stood in front of him.
"All right; please fill out these forms and take a seat over there until your number is called". He said still in a very monotone voice as he pulled out two pieces of paper as well as a ticket and handed them both to me along with a pair of pens.
I grabbed her by the hand and guided her to two empty seats that were against the right wall and we both sat down.
It did not take me very long to fill out the basic information that was required for this paperwork.
Shortly after I was done filling it out the number that was on our ticket was called by an energetic young lady with blonde hair.
I handed her the paperwork that Nova and I had both filled out which she took very happily and guided us to her desk.
"I see that you are both healers. That means that you are registered for high society life. When I program your scouters, they will allow you to have access to every section of the city except the nobility region.
It also says that you are both planning to get married. If that is the case then you will both be required to go through the marriage ceremony at the high society chapel run by one of our Cardinals.
Give me a few moments and I will officially put your documented information in our computers as well as give you scouters that will allow you all the access that your talent is allowed to have in this world". She said to us before she stood up and walked into a small room behind the main room of the building.
When she came back, she had two blue circular devices in her left hand, and in her right hand she had a black card.
"These are our scouters. Keep them on your waist and show them to the guards as a form of identification and they will also translate for you. This card is used for any transactions that you will make using the account that I have set up for you both. In this world, everything that you make on the job gets transferred instantly into your account for use when you return home. You start with a total of 50,000 credits to spend since a healer is a very rare type of talent.
I hope that you enjoy your stay in the homeworld of the House of Lupus and that you do not do anything to destroy the reputation they have built for themselves". she said to us as she bowed at us and handed us the scouter devices and the bank card.
I placed mine on my left wrist, and as soon as I did it began to glow a cyan color on the outside.
Nova and I both rose from our chairs and made it out of the building.
After we did then I looked at her with a large smile across my face knowing what was to come next.
"So now that we are registered as citizens of this world do you want to buy our property first or make our marriage official?". I asked her.
"I want to buy a house first. Then after that, we can finalize our marriage and have a very fun night together since it will be legal for us to do what we have been wanting to do for over four years. I just pray that the house that we buy will be able to withstand but we will do to it." Nova said to me as she laughed and twirled in circles down the road.
"All right then house purchasing is first". I said to her as I took her by the arm and began to walk up the main road after stopping her spinning.
Now that we had officially made it into our new lives, I had not even a single idea of what kind of surprises the future might hold; but due to that, I was going to enjoy every possible moment that I could with her.
