Chapter 4 - Mr. Internet

The most plausible explanation, albeit equally surreal, was that I had died and my soul had crossed into another dimension, meaning I had transmigrated. An idea supported by the multiverse theory, though unproven and speculative.

If the theory was correct, then it was possible for another world with different principles like mana and other supernatural energy to exist.

Hence, I had probably transmigrated into another parallel dimension and possessed my dimensional twin's body. And since even the multiverse theory was being taken seriously, for both dimensions to have different time flows was not far-fetched, hence, It wasn't strange that my dimensional twin was younger.

Noticing that I had gone into deep thought, Luna coughed awkwardly before saying, "I think we should let him rest a bit," while looking at her mother.

Her mother nodded at her and said, "You're right," while turning to leave. Remembering that I didn't know her name yet, I called and said, "Uh, Mrs." She paused, turning to look at me. I cleared my throat before saying, "Uh, I didn't get the chance to ask your name," politely. Her expression changed as she realized and said, "You're right, sorry about that, I'm Soleil, Luna's mother," as she looked at me with a complicated expression.

I nodded and she nodded back before turning around and leaving. Luna also looked at me with a reassuring look that seemed to say, 'You are going to be okay,' before turning around and walking out of the room closing the door behind her.

Left alone in the silence, I lay on the bed and started thinking. 'If my theory is correct, the people around me should be the same people I knew before. That also explains why my parents are the same and that bastard John also has some relationship with me,' I thought.

Also, the fact that my parents were alive and hadn't died yet meant that the events didn't flow the same throughout the parallel worlds. The fact that my parents were alive made me happy. Even if we weren't on good terms, I felt at peace.

The only thing that worried me about was the fact that the two-faced venomous bastard John was in the picture. I couldn't imagine him doing anything out of kindness. He was a manipulative psychopath who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. 'He's probably the one who caused the strain in my relationship with my parents,' I thought as I remembered what the John Park I knew had done.

He was one of my parents' business partners and a friend who my father trusted. But after they died in the accident, he did everything he could to get the most out of the company shares they left behind, even resorting to blackmailing and bribing people to get what he wanted.

I had also thought that he was the one who tried to kill us in the car accident but ended up killing my parents while I survived and wrapped his crime as an accident.

Thankfully, Jerry, who was my father's lawyer, played a big part in retaining what he could from the company shares for my inheritance.

"Well, there's no use thinking about everything as I will only end up with more questions than answers, so I should just lay down and rest for now," I muttered as I closed my eyes to sleep.

'I will ask Luna about everything later anyway,' I thought.

Due to the weight of my thoughts, sleep eluded me. After lying in bed for about thirty minutes, I decided to get up and browse the internet for information.

'Mr. Internet could probably enlighten me, heh' I thought while laughing inwardly. The pain in my muscles had already subsided, so I made my way to the desk and settled into the chair before the monitor.

As I powered up the screen, I saw the familiar information from earlier displayed on the screen.

Closing the unnecessary windows, I delved into searches about mana, mana channels, and mana cores.

Several hours passed as I sifted through the wealth of knowledge on my screen. Lost in contemplation, a knock on the door interrupted my focus.

Luna's voice followed, "Mr. Song, are you awake?"

I shut down the monitor and turned towards the door, urging her inside saying, "Yes, come in."

The door creaked open as Luna entered, carrying a glass of water. Placing it on the desk near the keyboard, she offered, "I brought you some water, in case you're thirsty."

I nodded, took a few sips, and set the glass back down. Luna pondered for a moment before asking, "Can I get you some tea or coffee, perhaps?" Her eyes were hopeful as she waited for my response.

Gently shaking my head, I replied, "There's no need. Instead, I have a few questions, if you don't mind."

A wide smile crossed Luna's face, her excitement palpable. "Of course! I'd be happy to help," she exclaimed.

Returning her smile, I gestured towards the bed. "Let's sit. This might take a while," I suggested, rising and taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

Following my steps, she dragged the chair I had just stood up from closer to the bed. With a warm smile, she sat down, facing me, ready for my questions.
