Chapter 21 - Women do make men do crazy things

Sophia got me a glass; I didn't know what was in it because I didn't care to see when she poured me some, but I knew it was alcohol from its appearance, and that was all I yearned for at that moment.

I took it from her shaky hands and gulped it all down at once, as I shoved the cup aggressively against her breasts. I could feel the burn in my chest down to my tummy, and it felt good in a way. Ahhh!!

I took a look at the crowd, who remained stuck to the wall, like they wanted to enter it. The door was right there before them; they could just run away, but still, they didn't. Were they that scared?

Ha! Suckers!!

I turned to the pretty girl who made me do all this, the reason for the immense pain I was experiencing all over.

She was fast asleep. I tried my best not to get lost in her beauty, although it was difficult, with my whole body feeling like I was assaulted with hammers. But still, I took a few seconds to look at her as she remained fast asleep. Only God knows how much alcohol she had.

I also turned back at the crowd, as my eyes met the albino guy who kept screaming at the big guy to kill me. Once more, our eyes met, and I could see the fear in his shaky, unstable eyeballs. I had the intention to get him back, that's for sure.

I just acted like we didn't just have about five seconds of eye contact, as I limped towards the girl, fast asleep on the table. I didn't even know her name; neither did she know mine. We had only met once, and here I was, beaten to a pulp for the sake of someone I didn't even know.

Sigh! Women do make men do crazy things.

I was sure my left leg was broken, with the way it was swollen below the joint, and the pain I felt from there gave me the assurance that it was broken. Probably happened when I was thrown against the counter.

But nevertheless, I didn't have the time or energy to cry or wait behind; these guys never walk alone; they had gangs, and one thing I wouldn't want is for Benny's gang to get me here, that is, if he had one.

I was about to wake the pretty girl from her slumber so we could get going from here when a thought came to my mind. What if she came with someone and was left alone, or maybe they were scared to claim her as their own? I wasn't a bad guy... in a way, so I was willing to see who came with her and maybe give her back.

"Does anyone know this young lady?" I said, with my words muffled, trying to speak with swollen lips, but they seemed to understand anyway, as they all nodded aggressively. "No! Never at all! I have never seen her in my entire life!" They all denied, so I was good to go.

I tapped her many times, but she was as unconscious as a log of wood. I even checked her breath to make sure she was still alive, because the way she slept scared me.

I had a knife in my right hand; I almost forgot. I was about to drop it when I remembered something. So I swiftly sent it across the room, and it went straight for the albino guy's left eye socket, sinking into it deeply as he fell to the ground.

The lady beside him passed out too. I think she had enough scare for one day. Yeah, I didn't forget that mother fucker. I would like to see you shout now, punk, I thought to myself... when:

_TRIPLE KILL!!_

_KEEP IT UP YOUNG MASTER!!_

_TIME LEFT BEFORE NEXT MISSION:_

_25 hours 22 mins 12 seconds_

_COUNTING..._

"Really, triple kill? What is this, Free Fire?

So the system takes count of my kills, huh? That's cool and disturbing in a way.

I raised the beautiful girl with difficulty, but finally got her on my shoulders.

As I switched to carrying her on my back, I made my way towards the door, almost slipping on the pool of blood coming from Benny's neck. I gained my stamina immediately, but the pain on my leg was really a whole lot to bear. I made my way towards the door, leaving a trail of blood and terrified hearts behind, as I made my way into the streets.

It was a cold and empty street, but luckily I managed to see a taxi driver who was kind enough to stop for us... actually, I got in the road and threatened to kill him, that's why he stopped. I knew he was a nice man; the very moment he didn't run me over, I appreciated it. "Thank you, sir," I said, but he didn't reply, trying to avoid eye contact with me from his rear mirror, keeping the car moving steady.

I noticed a cake on the front seat with some party hats and candles. God knows that if I wasn't so ticked up right now, I would just pick up that cake and have it to myself. But my pain was more than my hunger at that moment. He kept this expression of fear as he drove and kept looking at me from his rear mirror. I don't know if he didn't realize I actually saw him every time he did that, but it pissed me off.

"Ok, look here, man, I don't want to harm anyone at all. I just need you to take me where I want, okay? And quit looking at me like that; I'll pay you, there's no need to worry, okay?" I tried to explain to him, but he just nodded really fast and couldn't tell if he understood what I said, with how mumbled my words sounded at the moment…

"Ah!! Benny really fucked my face up real good.

I... I... I have only one child, and... and... and today is her birthday. Please." Oh, that explained the cake. But I wondered why he told me about him having only one child. I wasn't with his child; if anything, he should be scared I'll hurt him, not his child. I guess fear works in different ways.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, all I want is just to get us to a hotel for me and my friend over here," I said, gesturing to the girl on my lap. "Ok, sir, okay, I will do as you say, okay." That's good. "Take me to the best hotel here, but first, take us to a boutique. We need new outfits, and ta … take ….t..t

Those were the last words I remembered before everything went blank.
