"I'M HUNGRY, so why don't you return to the kitchen and make me some sandwich?"
Gyubin may only be a middle school graduate.
She wasn't even book-smart.
But she could read between the lines.
Nam Jinho, the punk who was younger than Gyubin, was looking down on her for being a traditional wife.
"Return to the kitchen" and "Make me a sandwich" couldn't be innocent phrases if they came out from a prick like him. His words obviously had a double meaning.
He's implying that women "belong to the kitchen."
What a misogynistic pig.
"Hey, did you hear me?" Nam Jinho asked, standing in front of Gyubin with his hands in his pockets. He was looking down at her because he towered over her. But it was clear that this punk was also looking down on her. "Make me a sandwich— anything but a peanut butter sandwich, though. I'm allergic to it."
Gyubin was deeply insulted, but she smiled anyway.
