Chapter 15 - The Might of a Cultivator

Neru stared at the man on top of the spear suspended in the air. It made Neru feel that the man in front of him was defying gravity itself.

The man was donned in a white robe with a black shirt inside. He only wore a pair of wooden slippers and plain black pants.

He has black-rimmed glasses, wavy black hair that reaches his eyes, and bright skin. A gentle and refined temperament that gave him the aura of a sage who saw through the intricacies of life. It was not in line with what Neru thinks about what cultivators should look like.

'Ho? There's actually a human here? Is he stranded in this forest?' the man with glasses turned his head at Neru who was hanging in the wall through the inserted dagger.

'Interesting...' A glint appeared on the glasses of the man and instantly, he commanded his spear to move towards Neru.

'Hmm... What is he doing here? He doesn't seem to have Qi on his body. How could a normal human survive in this place?' The suspected cultivator gave Neru a cursory glance and noticed the bits of blood on his body.

Neru, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel in awe. It was really a cultivator! Who hasn't dreamed of flying freely in the sky? Neru was amazed at this moment at the powerful aura contained in the body of the man in front of him but he also felt pressured.

If the man has a bad intention. He would be surely done for!

"What's your name? Do not fear, I won't hurt you." An ethereal voice rang in Neru's ears. He felt that the voice wasn't speaking to his ears but directly to his mind.

Neru swallowed the saliva accumulated on his throat unconsciously and couldn't help but answer. "Neru..."

"Good name. You can call me Sylvian." Sylvian pushed the frame of his glasses and let out a gentle smile. There are no signs of arrogance in his expression at all.

'Hmmm... Neither arrogant nor overbearing. It seems this man doesn't look down on me because I'm just a normal human like those in novels I've read in the past.

Neru was secretly glad that that was the case. "Sir Sylvian, can you help me get down? I can't hold on any longer." Neru looked at his bruised hands awkwardly and asked for help.

"Oh... My apologies." With a wave of Sylvian's hand, Neru and the dagger floated freely in the air. Sylvian's expression remained neutral as if what he was doing didn't require his effort. "Don't come near me later. I need to deal with the leader of warmongers below. It would be dangerous for you."

'Is that the black that catapulted to the ground? I don't need to fight it anymore if that's the case.'

'It seems this cultivator in front of me is also not an ordinary one amongst cultivators. '

Neru thought inwardly and glanced at Sylvian. He understands that as cultivators, they usually look down on humans. But the man in front of him seems different.

Just like that, Neru and Sylvian landed on the first floor. At this moment, Sylvian who was on Neru's side vanished and appeared in a crater not far away from them.

"Be careful." Neru could only remind the other party. He didn't know how strong the cultivator was. But through the powers he showed just now such as flying, high-speed movement, and even an ability similar to telekinesis, he also knew for a fact that the leader of warmongers isn't to be underestimated.

Sylvian shook his head as he heard Neru's warning. "I appreciate your goodwill but it's not necessary." His deep, ethereal voice resounded in the area.

On the crater, a small tornado began to emerge. It showed a trend of non-stop growth! In just a few seconds, the tornado grew to an astonishing ten meters high.

"Tornado blast. One of this beast's abilities. It does look truly formidable. But it's not enough to stop me." Sylvian let out a sigh and said with a tinge of disappointment. "Well, I thought I would be able to test the limit of my ultimate technique, what a disappointment."

"Gatotz!"

On Sylvian's finger, a red shimmering pure ball of light the size of an eyeball began to take shape. Neru had to cover his eyes with his palms because too blinding!

The red light behaved like a laser. It reaches the raging tornado in an instant.

BOOM!

The tornado didn't even manage to resit for even a second before it collapsed. The red light moved forward in a straight line and penetrated the thick wall.

Neru looked at the destruction that ensued. The hole in the wall looks too neat! Just how sharp the red beam was!? He imagined that if was on the receiving end of the beam, he would have to die!

On the crater, a humanoid black-skinned monster jumped forward and showed itself. A gloomy aura spread to the entire place along with a nasty stench.

Slyvian hurriedly covered his nose with a white cloth and said:

"Cover your nose. If you breathe in its smell, you'll die."

'What!?' Neru was startled and immediately pinched his nose hard. He looked at Sylvian, then turned his head at the leader of the Warmongers and couldn't help but ask. "Does it release a poisonous substance in the air?"

Sylvian shook his head and let out a soft chuckle. "Not really a poison. But it's just its natural smell that can cause internal disintegration."

"That's too dangerous. If I've fought it directly. I would have died without even knowing how?"

"Fight it?" Sylvian asked in doubt.

Just before Neru could answer, the black-skinned monster ran towards Sylvian without warning. It reaches Sylvian in eight steps. It opened its mouth and breathed out a green mist aimed at Sylvian.

"Acidic Miasma? According to the book, it's quite harmful even for cultivators who have perfectly refined their internal organs. Can dissolve the kidney and reduce the red blood cells in humans."

Neru heard Sylvian mutter to himself and wisely decided to distance himself from them.

'Their battle might kill me if I'm not careful. I'm still too weak.'
