Chereads / Death Bringer: Eyes of Death / Chapter 9 - Alternative Exit

Chapter 9 - Alternative Exit

Flicker!

Neru got out of the way as his body disappeared.

'I can only use Flicker eight times before I get exhausted.'

The Conceptual Eye of Death and his Flicker technique use stamina as energy to work. Basically, stamina acts like fuel required to run a car. It was also for this reason that Neru became even more determined to train his body. For aerobic and anaerobic capacity. The stronger his body, the higher his stamina, and the longer he would be able to use his abilities and last in a fight.

Maintaining his Conceptual Eyes of Death was difficult because its consumption was tp high.

In the first year, he could only maintain it for a minute and needed to rest for an hour to use it again.

But as he continued to improve. In the fifth year, he could finally maintain it for fifteen minutes, and now that his physique had reached the limit of what ordinary humans could achieve, and could even go beyond that. Neru can mountain the eyes of death for 40 minutes!

But there was a problem. His Flicker technique was even more energy-intensive than his eyes. It is for this reason that he only used it sparingly and strategically.

As Neru widened the distance, he threw the dagger with all his strength into the air so that it reached 400 meters before its ascent slowed down and began its descent.

All of this happened in just a second, the spider monkey fired strings of webs towards Neru intending to immobilize him.

Without a dagger in his hand, Neru's posture changes to that of a cheetah All on his fours on the ground with his muscles looking particularly explosive.

Everything was replicated perfectly down to the minute detail of how cheetahs breathe, position, behavior, and even ferociousness. Neru's aura changed at this time not looking like human at all!

Neru evaded to the right and one of the web slings as he ran with his arms and foot on the ground like a cheetah. The spider monkey was weirded at Neru's behavior but it continued to fire strings of web with its limbs like Spiderman.

Neru jumped sideways on the bark of a tree to dodge strings of webs intertwined with each other. Then, with an explosive kick, Neru accelerated. But it's not the end yet.

Flicker!

Neru's speed was further boosted. He was like a cheetah on a human skin but ten times more explosive!

His figure ran below the spider monkey. Before the spider monkey could process what happened. Neru stood up and caught a dagger in the air that fell to his position.

"Everything is according to plan," Neru whispered calmly as he thrust the dagger into the tiny little hole in its abdomen.

Neru smiled as the dagger hit the endpoint. The spider monkey let out a screech and tried to struggle but it was too late.

Eight of its limbs, head, and muscular upper body began to shrivel like a corpse. Followed by it collapsing on the ground with a bang!

Neru breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't throw the dagger randomly. Everything was calculated down to its minute detail! The trajectory, the air resistance, the direction and height, and the force he exerted. More importantly, he ensured the timing of his movements after throwing the dagger would align with the initial calculation. In the end, it was a perfect execution with each sequence matching the other!

Only people who battled continuously every day, every minute of their life could execute such complex movements and plan in a few seconds! Neru had to time everything!

The spider monkey is faster than him? Timing beats speed in some cases! Now, everything went according to plan.

Of course, his death eyes played a vital role. Even if everything went well. If he couldn't one-shot it. The result would be him dying.

Neru didn't know if anyone could replicate what he did. After all, he was unique. He fought beasts that he grew sick of it which gave him a full understanding of them. He fought them for ten years without rest so that he could read any beasts like an open book.

'I've come so far. From hiding to save my life from lost predators to hunting one of the top of the food chain!'

Now, he finally managed to kill a Qi Refining Realm whilst he was still a normal human! A feat that few could replicate.

Can he kill a Qi Refining Realm cultivator now? Honestly, Neru wasn't sure. He hasn't fought humans in his life only beasts. He had to admit that humans are more tactical. He would have a hard time-fighting humans rather than beasts in his current state.

Of course, it only applies to elite humans. Neru bets that he could overwhelm most cultivators of Qi Refining Realm based on battle IQ, instinct, skill, and experience alone.

Neru pushed the miscellaneous thoughts to the back of his mind and stared at the corpse of the spider monkey. "Time to see if the meat of a Qi Refining Realm creature affects me. It's the only hope I have to get through the current limit of my body..."

However, there was a problem. He needs to injure himself first or do some damage to his body. But only creatures at the level of spider monkey could do that.

No matter what, the only Qi Refining creatures that he had encountered were only four. The first one was the bear that was killed by the giant turtle. One was now dead on his hands and the other was the giant turtle. He doesn't want to fight the giant turtle in his current state. As for the last one, it was the final boss that guards the potential alternative exit of this forest. One that he inevitably needs to face if he wants to get out!

After all, he was physically drained from the fight just now. He was sure that even between Qi Refining Realm creatures. There is bound to be a gap.

In terms of strength and aura, the spider monkey doesn't have the same imposingness as the gigantic turtle.

"Well, I should store this corpse first and rest. Then find a creature that has the same strength as the spider monkey but is not too powerful."
