Chereads / Extreme Master ChenYang / Chapter 24 - The Thunderous Battle

Chapter 24 - The Thunderous Battle

Everyone gasped in shock upon hearing this, as two hundred million yuan was no small sum.

The One-Eyed Man and Qi Qiaoqiao's eyes gleamed with greed. The One-Eyed Man hurriedly said, "Brother, I think we should take it."

Luo Ren nodded in agreement, "Very well, then."

Chen Yang looked at Mu Jing with gratitude. He knew she was intelligent and must have her reasons for proposing this lucrative wager, likely to gain his favor.

Though the outcome was uncertain, Mu Jing's willingness to stake such a massive bet meant Chen Yang would be forever indebted to her for this immense favor.

Seeing this, Lin Qingxue and Tang Qingqing felt somewhat embarrassed.

Mu Jing added, "However, we have an ugly condition. If Master Luo loses, the One-Eyed Man must leave Binhai City for good."

"Naturally, no problem," the One-Eyed Man readily agreed.

Mu Jing continued, "And I know you, Master Luo, and the One-Eyed Man are all secular disciples of the Shaolin Temple. Your group of secular disciples has grown into its own faction now. A group of martial brothers united, especially that Shi Yonglong of the same generation, who has already attained immortal cultivation. He has even established his own Laoshan Martial Arts Academy overseas. Such a person, we cannot provoke. So today, I want you master witnesses that if Master Luo loses, none of the Shaolin secular disciples can trouble Chen Yang anymore. Otherwise, this fight is meaningless."

"Master Luo, what do you say?" Xue Lianhuwu asked Luo Ren.

Luo Ren replied, "If I lose, it is because my skills are lacking. All of the Shaolin and Shaolin secular disciples cannot trouble Chen Yang anymore."

"Good!" Xue Lianhuwu declared, "We masters present here bear witness to these terms. If there are no other issues, let's begin."

In that instant, the atmosphere became solemn.

Su Qing, Tang Qingqing, and Lin Qingxue's hearts raced with anticipation.

Huo Lei watched coldly while Mu Jing and the Xu brothers remained impassive.

As for Luo Ren, he appeared indifferent, as if nothing mattered to him. He strode to the center of the hall.

Chen Yang followed suit, taking his position.

The two men stood three meters apart, sizing each other up.

"Master Chen, your move," Luo Ren cupped his fists.

Chen Yang's gaze was calm as he replied, "Master Luo, your move."

The moment those words left his lips, the two sprang into action simultaneously.

In that split second, everyone saw only a blur of movement. Afterimages flickered as thunderous forces erupted, the floor carpet pulverized by their footwork as dust filled the air.

Flashes of brilliance shone in Chen Yang's eyes as he planted his stance, raising an iron fist to smash towards Luo Ren's skull.

The fist contained a million-volt spiraling electric current, its power exploding outward and causing ripples in the surrounding air.

This was Chen Yang's signature move, the foundation of his Eight Extremes Boxing - the Thunder Hammer Fist Strike!

The ferocious Thunder Hammer Fist Strike was unmatched, yet Luo Ren didn't even blink as he swiftly thrust out a finger force.

The One Finger Zen Strike!

It shot towards Chen Yang's meridians like a startled wild swan, aiming to cripple his arm if it landed.

Luo Ren's eye for opportunity was deadly as he instantly deployed a lethal move. In this crisis, Chen Yang transformed his fist into a Dragon Claw grip.

The Great Seizing Hand's Cloud Dragon Extends Its Claws entangled Luo Ren's arm.

Each claw was like a razor-sharp sword, capable of shattering bones and tendons if it grappled its target.

Luo Ren coldly snorted and nimbly retreated three meters back.

In that single step, he adopted the Bent Bow Stance, one of Shaolin's unique skills. Retreat like a bent bow, gathering power for an explosive counterattack of unparalleled ferocity.

Normally when a master retreated, it signaled they were at a disadvantage, inviting relentless pursuit from the opponent.

But the Bent Bow Stance cleverly concealed one's strength, luring the enemy to attack before unleashing overwhelming force.

In that instant, Luo Ren roared as his internal energy surged like a raging dragon.

"Rraaah!" Luo Ren's Vajra Destructive Force exploded forth in the Vajra Fist Imprint. His fist was like an adamantine spear, thundering towards Chen Yang's chest and abdomen.

The Vajra Fist Imprint struck with blinding speed, like a mountain bearing down on Chen Yang, leaving him breathless in the face of such overwhelming power.

There was no way to evade it in that critical moment of extreme peril. Even veteran masters felt their hearts pounding as these two formidable experts clashed from the very start.

Su Qing and the others could not see clearly but sensed the grave danger nonetheless.

Just then, Chen Yang's form shifted remarkably.

"Antelope Hangs its Horns!"

Like an antelope bounding through the mountains, he abruptly weaved past the Vajra Fist Imprint's shockwaves in an elusive maneuver.

The Antelope Hangs its Horns was untraceable, a profound skill Chen Yang's teacher had witnessed antelopes leaping and created.

Luo Ren's eyes widened as Chen Yang vanished, inwardly cursing as he whirled around in an instant.

Having evaded the attack, Chen Yang's Dragon Claw Seizing Hand reached for Luo Ren's nape, but Luo Ren's spin was too swift as he launched his own Seizing Hand.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Their grappling forces collided ferociously, but neither gained an advantage in those three exchanges.

A chess game between equal masters and talents!

Chen Yang suddenly disengaged, following with a Palm Strike to Splinter Mountains!

Luo Ren grabbed Chen Yang's wrist in a Seizing Hand, not letting him shift stances. Luo Ren's legs left the ground as he coiled around Chen Yang's waist like a python.

Chen Yang coldly snorted, reversing the Dragon Claw Seizing Hand to ensnare Luo Ren's wrists and arms.

"Alligator Tail Cleave!" In that instant, Chen Yang viciously tore with both arms crossed, generating a formidable spiral force.

Crack! Blood sprayed everywhere.

In that moment, Chen Yang ripped off Luo Ren's arms entirely. Luo Ren's eyes turned bloodshot as he roared, legs locked in a stranglehold around Chen Yang's midsection. In that critical state, his legs gathered the last vestige of his internal power to nearly defy the heavens.

Chen Yang saw stars, almost blacking out from the excruciating pressure. With no other choice, he struck out on instinct.

Bam!

His palm struck Luo Ren squarely in the head.

Instantly, Luo Ren's eyes rolled back as blood gushed from every orifice before he collapsed, dead.

His lifeless body slackened, releasing Chen Yang.

Chen Yang staggered, that desperate battle having truly pushed him to the brink. Initially, they had been cautious, unable to determine a decisive victor. So Chen Yang used the risky Palm Strike to Splinter Mountains, intending to goad Luo Ren into grappling.

Chen Yang had seen through Luo Ren's fighting style and anticipated this move, countering with the Alligator Tail Cleave.

However, he hadn't expected Luo Ren's leg skill to be so formidable, nearly costing Chen Yang his life.

If not for preemptively using the Alligator Tail Cleave to tear off Luo Ren's arms and deplete his internal energy, Chen Yang would have perished in that instant.

Even so, had Chen Yang not killed Luo Ren immediately after, his own internal organs would have been crushed by those powerful legs.

It was an incredibly brutal and vicious fight.

"Brother!" The One-Eyed Man cried out in anguish upon seeing Luo Ren's death, charging at Chen Yang.

Chen Yang was still dazed, his mind a blur. He didn't even realize he had just killed Luo Ren.

The One-Eyed Man closed in with blinding speed, about to slay Chen Yang while he was defenseless.

But in that moment, an even swifter figure appeared.

Mu Jing materialized in front of Chen Yang like a celestial deity, coldly snorting, "Foolish insect!" Her kick lashed out.

Bam!

The One-Eyed Man was sent flying, crashing to the ground, unable to rise again.

"Since victory has been decided, fellow masters, we shall take our leave," Mu Jing cupped her fists. She then supported Chen Yang as they swiftly departed with the Xu brothers.

Su Qing followed behind them.

She seemed lost, having witnessed death for the first time.

This scene left Tang Qingqing and Lin Qingxue equally shaken.

After getting into the car, Chen Yang regained his senses. Su Qing sat beside him while Mu Jing took the front passenger seat as Xu Qing drove.

"Where are we going?" Chen Yang couldn't help but ask.

"To my tea house," Mu Jing replied.

Chen Yang fell silent for a moment before saying, "Thank you for your aid today. I, Chen Yang, will forever remember this favor."

Mu Jing gave a faint smile, "I did nothing. But you were willing to risk your life for those two girls, Lin Qingxue and Tang Qingqing. Yet they don't seem too appreciative. Also, now that you've killed Luo Ren, I fear the Shaolin disciples won't let this go. If Luo Ren had lived, everything could still be resolved."

Chen Yang said solemnly, "I had no choice."

"I understand," Mu Jing said. "That's why I never told you not to kill Luo Ren beforehand."

"My advice is for you to leave Binhai," Mu Jing urged.

Su Qing's heart skipped a beat, but she remained silent.

Chen Yang, however, did not respond.

"What's wrong?" Mu Jing asked.

Chen Yang sighed, "If I leave, this mess will be left for Qingxue and the others to deal with. Besides, that's not my way."

Mu Jing shook her head, "I really don't understand why you're going to such lengths to help those two girls."

Chen Yang paused before replying, "Qingxue's brother was my brother too. Her brother is dead."

Mu Jing and Su Qing were stunned into silence.

They finally understood why Chen Yang had come to Binhai, why someone of his formidable skills would work as a mere security guard. It was all to secretly protect Lin Qingxue, for her deceased brother's sake.

He was a true man of iron.

"Sister Jing, I want to return to my own home," Chen Yang suddenly said.

"Very well," Mu Jing agreed.

"And about Qingxue's brother, I hope you can keep that a secret," Chen Yang added.

"Understood," Mu Jing nodded.

Half an hour later, Chen Yang and Su Qing got out of the car as the others departed.

Su Qing looked at Chen Yang with concern, "Are you alright?"
