Chapter 100 - Blood in the Water

The day began like any other for Izzy. She moved through the halls of Hogwarts, her senses attuned to the usual bustle of students and the oppressive presence of Dolores Umbridge. The fight against the pink menace had been taxing, but she was resolute in her determination to see it through. Little did she know, today would bring a more personal challenge.

As she made her way to her next class, she noticed something unusual. Luna, her gentle and ethereal girlfriend, was conspicuously absent from her usual spot. A gnawing sense of unease settled in her stomach. She quickened her pace, her mind racing through the possibilities. Luna was not one to skip class without a good reason.

Izzy turned a corner and almost collided with Fred and George, who were talking in hushed, urgent tones.

"Have you seen Luna?" she asked, her voice tight with worry.

The twins exchanged a glance. "We heard she was taken to Umbridge's office," Fred said, his expression grim.

"Umbridge?" Izzy felt a cold fury rising within her. "Why would she target Luna?"

George frowned. "We've been hearing things. Umbridge is trying to get back at you. She thinks she can break you by going after the people you care about."

Izzy's blood ran cold. She knew Umbridge was ruthless, but this was a new low. Without another word, she turned and headed straight for Umbridge's office, her mind set on rescuing Luna.

As she approached the office, she could hear Umbridge's sickly sweet voice. "Miss Lovegood, you must understand that dissent will not be tolerated. Your association with certain elements in this school has brought you under scrutiny."

Izzy's anger flared. She pushed the door open with a force that rattled the walls. "Umbridge!"

Umbridge looked up, her expression one of feigned surprise. "Miss Black, what a… pleasant surprise. What brings you here?"

"You know exactly why I'm here," Izzy snapped, her wand gripped tightly in her hand. "Let Luna go. Now."

Luna sat in a chair, her face pale but composed. She looked at Izzy with calm, trusting eyes, a stark contrast to the fury burning in Izzy's own.

Umbridge's smile never faltered. "Miss Lovegood was simply having a… chat with me about the company she keeps. I'm concerned about her wellbeing, you see."

Izzy stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "I'm not going to warn you again. Release her."

Umbridge stood, her expression hardening. "You're treading on dangerous ground, Miss Black. I'd be careful if I were you."

Izzy felt the familiar hum of dark magic at her fingertips, but she fought to keep her composure. "I'm not afraid of you, Umbridge. And you're going to regret ever laying a hand on Luna."

There was a tense silence, the air thick with the promise of violence. Finally, Umbridge stepped back, her eyes cold and calculating. "Very well. Miss Lovegood, you may go."

Luna stood, her movements graceful and serene, and walked over to Izzy. They left the office together, the door slamming shut behind them.

As they walked down the corridor, Izzy's anger began to subside, replaced by a fierce protectiveness. She turned to Luna. "Are you okay?"

Luna nodded, her eyes softening. "I am, thanks to you."

Izzy took a deep breath, her resolve hardening. "We need to be careful. Umbridge won't stop here. But we'll get through this. Together."

Luna smiled, a small, reassuring smile that warmed Izzy's heart. "I know we will."

The rest of the day passed in a blur of classes and whispered conversations. Izzy couldn't shake the feeling that the battle was far from over, but with Luna by her side, she felt ready to face whatever came next. As the sun set over Hogwarts, casting long shadows across the grounds, Izzy knew that the fight against Umbridge had just become even more personal. And she was ready for it.

The incident with Luna had left Izzy seething with rage. Umbridge had crossed a line, and now it was time to push back with full force. She spent the night strategizing, using every resource at her disposal to bring down the tyrannical professor. She wrote letters, gathered evidence, and enlisted allies to turn the tide against Umbridge.

The next morning, Izzy moved with purpose through the halls of Hogwarts, her mind sharp and focused. She had a plan, and she was determined to execute it flawlessly. She first sought out the Weasley twins, Fred and George, who were always eager to cause trouble, especially when it involved Umbridge.

"Fred, George," she said, pulling them aside, "I need your help. We have to bring Umbridge down, and I can't do it alone."

The twins exchanged a glance, their eyes gleaming with mischief. "What do you need us to do?" George asked, a grin spreading across his face.

"Spread the word about what Umbridge did to Luna," Izzy said, her voice low but intense. "Get the other students on our side. We need to show the Ministry that she's unfit to be here."

Fred nodded, his expression serious for once. "Consider it done. We'll get everyone talking."

Next, Izzy went to see Hermione, who had always been a reliable ally. She found her in the library, surrounded by books and parchments.

"Hermione, I need your help," Izzy said, sitting down across from her. "Umbridge targeted Luna yesterday, and we need to expose her."

Hermione looked up, her eyes narrowing with determination. "What can I do?"

"Research any laws or precedents we can use against her," Izzy replied. "We need to hit her where it hurts."

Hermione nodded, already pulling books from the shelves. "I'll get right on it."

With the students rallied and the legal groundwork being laid, Izzy turned her attention to Dumbledore. She found him in his office, Fawkes perched on his shoulder, watching her with keen eyes.

"Professor," Izzy began, "we need to talk about Umbridge. She's gone too far, and it's time to act."

Dumbledore's eyes twinkled with understanding, but his expression was grave. "What do you propose, Miss Black?"

Izzy took a deep breath. "We need to present a united front to the Ministry. I've gathered evidence and witnesses. We need to make it clear that her actions are unacceptable."

Dumbledore nodded slowly. "Very well. I will support your efforts. Umbridge's time at Hogwarts must come to an end."

With Dumbledore's backing, Izzy felt a surge of confidence. She knew the fight would be tough, but she was ready. She spent the next few days gathering more evidence, talking to students who had suffered under Umbridge's regime, and ensuring that their voices would be heard.

The final piece of the puzzle was Sirius. Izzy wrote him a detailed letter, explaining the situation and asking for his support.

-----

Dear Sirius,

I hope this letter finds you well. We have a serious problem at Hogwarts. Dolores Umbridge has targeted Luna and is using her position to terrorize the students. I need your help to bring this to the attention of the Ministry and ensure she is removed from her position.

Please use your connections and influence to support our cause. I have gathered evidence and witnesses, and with your help, we can make a strong case against her.

Thank you, Izzy

The response was swift. Sirius agreed to use his connections to put pressure on the Ministry. The combination of student testimonies, legal arguments, and political influence created an unstoppable force.

In the end, Umbridge was removed from her position, her reign of terror brought to an abrupt end. The students of Hogwarts breathed a collective sigh of relief, and Izzy knew that they had won an important victory. But she also knew that the fight was far from over. There were bigger battles ahead, and she would be ready for them.

Izzy looked at Luna, who smiled back at her with gratitude and admiration. She had fought for the people she cared about, and she had won. For now, that was enough.
