Chapter 19 - Trouble

Oliver had gone through the entire hall. He found that the entire hall had over 150 rooms, a kitchen, an indoor gym, and even a large common room. All in all, it was quite a large place for only two people. The rooms were situated at the top, unfortunately, and Oliver was unlucky enough to be assigned the room on the highest floor. While some might see this as a great room to have, Oliver did not. He was not only scared of heights, but he also had to go up 25 flights of stairs every single day.

As Oliver was dreading his school life, Eman snuck up behind him. Just when Eman was about to say something, Oliver turned around and asked him what he wanted. While slightly surprised, he responded,

"Something came up so I have to go. It was nice meeting you!"

Oliver just nodded and got ready to start unpacking everything. By nightfall, he was completely finished and was exhausted from everything. Just when he thought the day couldn't get any worse, a knock echoed through his room.

"Hello? Is anyone in there?"

"Uh, who are you?" Oliver asked as he cracked open the door, letting a small sliver of light into the dark hallway.

"Aw, you silly, I'm your neighbor. Why don't you—"

Before the person could finish speaking, Oliver stabbed a sword through its neck. The sword wasn't a double-edged sword; instead, it was a single-edged blade that was commonly called the best. Hailing from a small island country, the blade was known as a Katana. It had multiple runic characters decorating the blade, appearing in beautiful curved lines. The blade itself was a glowing silver that seemed to resonate with the night sky. The handle and guard kept to a traditional black, while a small silver moon charm hung from the handle.

As the sword pierced through the thing's neck, a loud screech echoed through the dark hallway.

"Y-y-you stabbed me! You bastard!"

"What? Did you expect me to get along with a monster?" Oliver mocked as he rested his Katana by his legs.

"Y-you! I'll kill you!" The thing tried to lunge at Oliver, not even masking its intent. A fatal mistake.

"First Sword: Moonlight's Grace." Oliver's soft murmur echoed throughout the entire hallway. That was it. There was nothing afterward. His body didn't move. His katana, which was unsheathed, was put back into its sheath. His eyes that were focused became closed and unconcerned. As for the being in front of his door?

What being? The only thing left was a small pile of ash and dust, a pile that was blown away by a small wind.

In an undisclosed location on the campus, multiple screens were showing multiple similar occurrences. While the students were fighting for their lives, the school board watched as they silently evaluated each and every student. This silence was unbroken until a teacher suddenly asked,

"Where's Oliver's opponent?"

"Huh? Has it not begun its hunt yet?"

"Hmm, Ariel, replay student Oliver, number 110362."

The board of the school watched as Oliver swiftly and effortlessly dealt with the monster. Even though the monster wasn't that strong, to kill it in mere seconds was beyond their expectations.

"Hmm, interesting. Does anyone know what happened?"

"It was quite self-explanatory, Director. The kid slightly arched his legs, giving him explosive speed. With such speed, he did a single cut upward that split the ghost in half, then a single second cut downward, destroying the core of the ghost. His body moved so fast, the human eye couldn't process the information of him moving, giving the illusion of a silver streak appearing and destroying his foe, just like a streak of moonlight."

"I see. Ariel?"

"Student Oliver has been graded to be Non-Standard."

"Understood. Place Oliver in the Myth Elective."

"Permission granted."

"Permission granted."

Men and women of the board gave their opinions on the issue. After a few seconds, Ariel quickly made its decision.

"38 of the 54 have voted Yes. Oliver shall be placed into the Myth Elective."

"Good. Now, Oliver seems to be a part of the Mystic Association. Harold? Can you share his track record?"

"I cannot. His information has been placed as Special Class. However, he has begun to make waves in the organization. While only a Rank 2, he's cleared over 40 Fissures since he registered a few months ago."

"Heh! So a supernova has found himself in my academy, this will be fun," the Director murmured that last statement before the room fell into silence as they focused on the other students.

The next morning, Oliver was visited by Eman. As he opened the door with a yawn, Oliver opened the door with nothing but shorts on, showcasing his fit body.

"Uh?"

"Hmm? Oh, Eman, what did you need?"

"Oh, I just wanted to remind you that classes start today. Moreover, you should be receiving an email about any changes to your schedule."

"I see, thanks I guess." Oliver responded to Eman's goodwill with a lackluster voice and closed the door. He checked his email and noticed that he was placed into a new class, although this one seemed to not be through holographic projection and instead seemed to be in another location. Oliver let out a sigh and felt this would be annoying. He quickly got dressed, putting on the school uniform and prepared for his upcoming classes.

By three in the afternoon, Oliver finished his basic classes and his other class began in an hour. He didn't have anything else to do and headed towards the class location, the very peak of the mountain. While the mountain was staggering, it still took Oliver half an hour to traverse. During this time, he noticed that many halls and buildings had been built on top of the mountain, giving it the feeling of a sect from the Chinese novels he would read. As he arrived, a small dagger flew through the air toward his chest, although such a slow attack couldn't possibly hit him. With a single step, he moved his body out of the way of the dagger and stared at the source.

A young woman that could be summed up with a single word: ninja. She had lavender hair that spilled out from her mask, and her sky-blue eyes glared at Oliver. Just when she was about to say something, Oliver moved. A loud shout tried to stop him; however, it was a moment too late.
