As I left my parents' house, I felt grateful for the quality time we spent together.
The next morning, I prepared for school, gathering my laptop and notebooks.
In class, I sat down and met my friend Sarah. She asked,
"Hey, Joanna, how are you doing? I've been worried about you since...you know."
I replied,
"I'm doing okay, thanks for asking. It's been tough, but I'm trying to stay positive."
Sarah said,
"I'm so sorry about the miscarriage. I know it's not easy, but you're strong and you'll get through this."
I appreciated her kind words and we chatted for a bit longer.
After class, I spent time with Sarah at her house. We hung out and talked about everything that had been going on.
Sarah asked,
"So, how's Priscoll doing? When is he coming back?"
I replied,
"He's actually extending his trip for another two weeks. I'm not looking forward to being alone in the house for that long."
