Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: United Front

Malakai gazed at his status panel, wonder in his eyes. He had come a long way, and his numbers reflected his growth.

He thought about his mother's words, about the leaders of the beasts in this prison being High Omega. What level was that, exactly? And what would it take for him to reach it?

Feeling determination run through his veins as he wondered what would happen when he reached level 50. Would he be strong enough to take on the leaders of the prison?

Malakai's mother called out, her voice gentle but firm. "Malakai, it's time to keep moving. We can't stay in one place for too long."

Malakai's eyes shone with excitement as he looked at his mother, his tail wagging furiously. "Mama, do you think we can hunt more of these?" he asked, his voice filled with eagerness.

Akira's expression was cautious, her brow furrowed in concern. "Malakai, you need to rest after consumption, especially with how young you still are," she said, her voice gentle but firm. "You need to let your body digest."

He took a step forward, his ears perked up, and his tail still wagging. "Mama, I'm fine," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "Look, did you see my body change? I've become strong. As long as we hunt these beasts, we'll be fine. It will also benefit us if we get to the other side, and we have two strong wolves instead of one."

Akira looked at her son, her eyes searching for any sign of weakness or exhaustion.

She thought about what he was saying and found some sense in his words.

It would indeed be better to have two strong wolves than one, especially in this treacherous prison.

After a moment's consideration, Akira nodded her head, her ears lowering in a subtle sign of agreement. "Okay, we'll hunt these caiman Crocs," she said, her voice firm.

Malakai let out a yelp, his tail wagging even harder as he bounded forward, his mother and sister following closely behind.

The three wolves moved stealthily through the underbrush, their senses on high alert as they stalked their prey.

Suddenly, a DING! sound was heard in Malakai's ears. He knew this sound all too well.

]Quest Issued: Extinction of Caiman"]

[TASK: Kill and devour all the caiman in this lake]

[Caiman killed: N/A]

[Reward: 10 Lvs each 10 caiman killed instant]

Malakai's eyes widened in disbelief as he read the quest details. Thirty levels? It was too generous, and it made him wonder what lay ahead.

He looked at his mother and sister, and they seemed to sense his eagerness. Akira nodded, her ears perked up, and Amari let out a small yelp, her tail wagging.

And so, they began their hunt. They stood by the water's edge, their eyes scanning the lake for any sign of movement. The sun beat down on them, its warm rays reflecting off the water's surface.

As they waited, Malakai's mind raced with thoughts of the quest ahead. How many caiman were there? Would they be able to find them all? And what lay at the end of this quest?

But his thoughts were interrupted by a sudden splash in the water.

A caiman had emerged, its scaly body glinting in the sunlight. Akira sprang into action, her jaws snapping shut around the caiman's neck. Malakai and Amari followed suit, their teeth sinking into the caiman's flesh.

The hunt continued, the three wolves working together seamlessly.

Akira would pin down the caiman, while Malakai and Amari would finish it off.

As time continued to pass , theirhunt showed no signs of slowing down.

They had killed 19 caimans, and Malakai needed just one more to reach the next reward.

He stood at the water's edge, his eyes scanning the lake for any sign of movement. But nothing came out, no splash, no ripple.

They had been using this strategy for a while now, baiting the caimans and then catching them off guard. But this time, it seemed like the caimans were onto them.

Malakai decided to take a step forward into the water. The cool liquid enveloped his paws, and he felt a sense of calm wash over him.

But suddenly, he felt something grab his leg, and he let out a yelp of pain. His mother was by his side in an instant, her ears perked up, and her eyes scanning the water.

She knew exactly what was happening. A caiman had grabbed Malakai's leg and was pulling him underwater.

Akira didn't waste any time. She stuck her head underwater, her jaws wide open.

Malakai felt the hold on his leg loosen, and his mother dragged him out of the water, just as a caiman popped out, its jaws snapping wildly.

The caiman was huge, its body as long as Malakai was tall. Its scales were a dark, mottled brown.

Akira stood her ground, her fur standing on end as she faced the caiman. Malakai struggled to his feet, his leg throbbing in pain.

The caiman lunged at Akira, its jaws wide open. But she was too quick, and she dodged out of the way just in time.

The caiman's jaws snapped shut, missing Akira by mere inches.

The caiman was large, its body towering over Malakai. It stared at him, its eyes filled with a fierce intensity.

It could smell the scent of its kin on Malakai's fur, and it knew that this wolf was responsible for the death of its family.

Its attacks, which had previously been directed at Akira, now focused solely on Malakai.

The caiman snapped its jaws shut, mere inches from Malakai's face.

Malakai dodged, jumping backwards as the caiman's jaws closed on empty air. He growled.

Akira saw her chance and sneaked behind the caiman, her teeth sinking into its scales.

The caiman let out a pained hiss as Akira's teeth pierced its skin. It spun around, its jaws wide open as it targeted Akira.

But Malakai was ready, and he pounced, his teeth biting deep into the caiman's neck. The caiman's eyes widened in pain as Malakai's teeth sank deeper.

But the caiman was far from defeated. It switched its target once again, its jaws snapping shut mere inches from Malakai's face.

Malakai dodged, his heart racing as he avoided the caiman's deadly bite.

Akira saw her chance and bit down on the caiman's scales once more, her teeth piercing deep into its flesh.
