Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Behemoth II

In a secluded mountain site, surrounded by a lush snow forest, a towering Arctic bear stood majestically, his battle-scarred fur showed it's strength and resilience.

Behind him, a sleek Grey lynx gazed up at him with an air of excitement, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"So, this is it, right?" The bear's deep voice rumbled, his skepticism evident.

"Yes, this is it," the lynx responded, her voice laced with excitement. "Now, pull that tree branch down."

The bear's gaze narrowed, his eyes fixed on the lynx. "How do I know this isn't one of your schemes, cat?" he asked, his tone laced with distrust.

The lynx's annoyance was palpable. "Valkor, I'm telling you, we don't want to stay here longer than we have to. Please, just pull the branch!"

The bear stretched out his massive claw, his movements deliberate. With a gentle tug, he pulled the tree branch down.

The earth shook, and the ground trembled as a hidden entrance was revealed.

Stairs leading into darkness appeared.

The the bear began his descent down the stairs. But just as the lynx was about to follow, the entrance creaked and groaned, the stairs disappearing into the darkness.

The earth closed behind the bear, enveloping him in silence.

The lynx was left standing alone, her eyes fixed on the spot where the entrance had been.

"No!" she cried out, her voice echoing through the forest. "No, wait! Don't leave me behind!"

But her plea was met with silence. The bear was gone, vanished into the depths of the mountain.

Valkor's eyes adjusted slowly to the darkness, able to see a bit through the darkness.

He moved cautiously, his ears perked up and his nose twitching as he sniffed the air.

The slithering sound grew louder, and he could feel the ground trembling beneath his paws.

"Show yourself, coward!" Valkor growled, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "You fight in the dark, is it because you fear my strength?"

The slithering sound stopped abruptly, and an eerie silence fell over the cavern.

Valkor's heart raced with anticipation, his eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement.

Suddenly, a massive mouth with razor-sharp fangs appeared out of the darkness, seemingly ready to devour him whole.

Valkor's fur stood on end as he felt a wave of fear wash over him.

He had never felt so vulnerable, so small, in his entire life.

The mouth drew closer, and Valkor braced himself for the worst.

But just as all hope seemed lost, the earth trembled beneath his paws, and a feminine voice boomed through the cavern. "Scram, you filthy worm!"

The mouth disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared, and the slithering sound retreated into the darkness.

The cavern was silent once more, except for the sound of Valkor's ragged breathing.

Then, without warning, the torches on the walls flared to life, casting flickering shadows across the cavern.

Valkor blinked in the sudden light, his eyes adjusting slowly to the brightness.

And that was when he saw it. A beast of unimaginable size and strength, its white fur glistening in the torchlight.

The elephant stood on its hind legs, its eyes gleaming behind a pair of glasses perched on the end of its trunk.

Valkor felt small and insignificant in the face of such enormity.

He had never seen anything like this before, and he couldn't help but wonder what he had stumbled upon.

"Mmmh, to think her descendants still exist," the elephant's voice boomed, its eyes fixed on Valkor with a curious expression. "Follow me, young king."

Valkor hesitated for a moment, his heart filled with a bit of pride by being refer to as a king.

And so, with a deep breath, Valkor began to follow the elephant, his paws echoing off the stone walls as they journeyed deeper into the unknown.

The cavern stretched out before them, a seemingly endless expanse of darkness and wonder.

A large golden door appeared in front of them, and the elephant easily opened it with a swipe of its massive paw.

As they stepped inside, the elephant shrunk its size to 20 feet, double the size of Valkor when he stood on his hind legs. "Haa, seems I can't get smaller," the elephant muttered, its voice filled with a hint of amusement.

Valkor's eyes widened as he took in the grandeur of the chamber.

Statues of various beasts, from bears to wolves, stood proudly around the room, their eyes shining in the soft light.

He turned to the elephant, his curiosity piqued. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice firm and confident.

The elephant's laugh filled the room, its sound echoing off the walls. "Well, it is not I who is important in this meeting," it said, its voice dripping with humility. The elephant paused, as if waiting for Valkor to introduce himself.

Valkor stood tall, his chest puffed out with pride. "Valkor," he declared, his voice ringing through the chamber.

The elephant looked at him in awe, its eyes shining with admiration. "A king's name indeed," it said, its voice filled with reverence.

The elephant's gaze seemed to bore into Valkor's very soul, and he felt a shiver run down his spine. "You see, I have been expecting you," the elephant continued, its voice filled with excitement. "It's been thousands of years since I've seen another beast other than that worm you encountered. It is my pleasure to meet the descendant of the Bear Queen."

Valkor's ears perked up at the mention of his ancestor, and he felt a surge of pride and strength flow through him.

The elephant's words were like a balm to his soul, soothing his doubts and fears.

The elephant's voice was like honey, sweet and flattering. "Looking at those scars on you, I'm sure she'll be proud," it said, its eyes roaming over Valkor's battle-hardened body.

Valkor's heart swelled with pride, and he felt a sense of validation wash over him.

But the elephant's tone soon turned serious, its voice filled with a hint of urgency. "As much as I want to chat more, our meeting shall not be long," it said, its paw waving in a graceful arc.

A box appeared in front of Valkor, its surface adorned with the mark of the Bear Queen.

Valkor's eyes widened as he reached out a paw to take the box. He could sense the power emanating from it.

The elephant's voice was like a gentle breeze, its words filled with wisdom. "Let me tell you the story of this dungeon prison," it began, its voice weaving a tale of ancient power and forgotten lore.

As the elephant spoke, Valkor felt his mind expanding, his understanding of the world growing.

He had been alive for almost half a century, and he knew how hard it was to get strong in this dungeon prison.

But with the elephant's words, he felt a sense of hope and determination ignite within him.

The elephant's voice was like a river, flowing smoothly and effortlessly. "Now, inside this box, it's something that will help you grow. This was prepared by the ancestors of all the beasts in this prison," it said, its eyes shining with a deep wisdom.

Valkor's heart raced with excitement as he opened the box, its contents glowing with a bright light.
