Eve stood in the elegant bridal boutique, surrounded by racks of shimmering white gowns and the soft hum of classical music playing in the background. She glanced at Olivia, who was beaming with excitement.
"I invited Victoria and Claire like you asked," Eve said, her voice carrying a hint of tension. "But they didn't come."
Olivia looked at her with understanding eyes. "I'm sorry, dear. I thought it might be a good gesture."
Eve forced a smile. "It's fine, really. I'm actually relieved they didn't show up. I don't think I could handle their negativity today."
As Eve stepped into the dressing room, she felt a wave of anxiety wash over her.
She slipped into the delicate lace gown, its intricate details and flowing train making her feel like she was stepping into a dream. When she emerged, she saw Olivia's eyes welling up with tears.
"Oh, Eve," Olivia whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "You look absolutely stunning."
