Alex and Eve made their way to Victoria's office, a maid had delivered the message calling for their presence.
When they arrived, Victoria sat behind her grand mahogany desk, her expression stern. Claire stood by the window, looking out with a distant gaze. As soon as Alex and Eve entered, Victoria looked up and addressed them. "Eve, please excuse us. This matter doesn't concern you."
Alex's eyes narrowed. "Eve has every right to be here. And I don't appreciate the tone you use with her."
Victoria's expression hardened. "Eve doesn't hold a position in the Sinclair house. She made that clear when she moved out and abandoned her family."
Eve felt a surge of anger. "I didn't abandon anyone. You made me feel like an outcast."
Victoria's eyes flashed with denial. "That's not true."
Before the argument could escalate further, Alex stepped in. "Enough. Either way, Eve has every right to be here as my wife-to-be."
