The cops again?! F*ck!
As they moved through the darkened corridors, the adrenaline kicked in, sharpening Tommy's focus. They needed to get out fast and without drawing attention.
The sounds of footsteps and distant radio chatter from the police outside heightened the tension.
"Is there a door to get out?" Tommy asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Head on through the kitchen," Darnell replied, leading the way with practiced ease.
They reached the kitchen, and Darnell motioned for everyone to be quiet as they slipped through the narrow hallway. The back door loomed ahead, their escape route.
"Ride shotgun, don't stray off," Darnell instructed, his eyes scanning for any signs of movement.
Tommy's heart pounded in his chest as they crept closer to the door. Just as they reached it, they heard voices approaching from the other side.
Panic surged through him, but he forced himself to stay calm.
