Chapter 4 The Attacking Little Huya

"Ryan, can't you talk properly? I don't want to lose face!"

She wasn't comfortable loosening up to talk about this issue, but the guy kept bullying her.

At this moment, Emma's cheeks were puffed out, making her look incredibly cute.

Even though Ryan couldn't see her expression, he could tell from her tone that Emma's expression must have been quite interesting.

So he continued to laugh and said, "I'm just discussing Teddy and Big Bear with you. What were you thinking, Emma? You've been the class monitor for three years; your awareness needs improvement!"

"Ry-an!"

Emma was so furious her teeth itched. In annoyance, she even leaned forward and bit Ryan's shoulder.

The sudden pain in his shoulder made Ryan almost lose control. "Geez, are you a dog? Let go!"

Feeling the jerking of his shoulder, Emma realized how risky her action had been, so she quickly released her grip.

It was only then that she realized how audacious her actions had been—just like a young couple bickering.

Normally, she kept her distance from boys and never even touched them, but just now, she had bitten Ryan.

This made Emma blush involuntarily.

While feeling embarrassed, she also felt a sense of vengeance.

Thinking about how Ryan had been bullying her since the bus stop, Emma couldn't help but snort proudly. "That's what you get for bullying me!"

Not to mention, Emma's two small tiger teeth had inflicted quite a bit of pain.

Ryan took a deep breath and said speechlessly, "With such a sharp bite, aren't you afraid of causing an accident?"

"Who told you not to speak properly and keep bullying me?" Emma retorted angrily. Then, she thought of something and continued, "Ryan, I've noticed that you used to be very quiet in school. Why have you become so temperamental after the college entrance exams? It's like you're a different person."

Ryan continued jokingly, "Oh, come on. At school, Emma was always surrounded by a group of admirers, so there was never a chance to talk to you normally."

Despite being in the same class, they didn't interact much.

Ryan's grades were average, and his personality was quiet, so he didn't stand out. Emma, on the other hand, had top grades and a close circle of friends, mostly girls, so she didn't interact much with boys.

"Just keep hurting me!"

Emma squinted and gritted her teeth. If it weren't for safety concerns, she would have bitten that jerk to death.

Strangely, despite Ryan's teasing, Emma didn't reject it. In fact, she liked this banter.

Unlike other boys, who always made her feel awkward whenever they talked to her.

...

As they chatted and laughed, they arrived at the driving school on their electric scooter.

Since they weren't in the same driving class, after parking the electric scooter, Ryan waved goodbye under his umbrella. "See you later, Emma!"

And then he just walked away...

Gone...

With such scorching sun, even if he didn't need the umbrella for himself, he could have at least escorted her to the driving practice area, right?

"This jerk! Such a straight guy!"

Watching him walk away, Emma stomped her feet angrily.

"Hey, Emma!"

A cheerful voice called out from behind.

Emma turned to see her best friend, Lily.

There was a mischievous smile on Lily's face, as if she had unearthed some secret, and she kept eyeing her up and down.

"What's up, Lily?" Emma was a bit nervous when she saw her.

Lily chuckled teasingly and said, "Hehe! Emma, do you and Ryan... you know!"

"Nothing!" Emma denied.

"I knew you'd deny it, but I saw everything. You were under the umbrella, and he was riding a bike, practically inseparable." Lily smiled knowingly.

"No, I just missed the bus, so I asked him for a ride."

After hearing Emma's explanation, Lily, the gossip, was a little disappointed.

Ah, there goes the juicy gossip...

Looking in the direction Ryan had gone, Lily said meaningfully, "Actually, I think Ryan is quite handsome, with great skin and a warm smile."

Good looking and good skin, Emma admitted.

But warm?

She secretly rolled her eyes, thinking she'd like to bite that jerk to death.

...

"Hey,ryan, over here."

Upon arriving at the practice area, Ryan saw Will waving at him from under the canopy.

Will was Ryan's desk mate and long-time best friend.

The canopy was useless, and Will was almost sunburnt, sweat sliding down his cheeks.

Seeing Ryan with an umbrella, Will quickly moved under it, wiping his sweat and panting, "Damn, it's so freaking hot today. I feel like I'm about to have a heat stroke just standing here for over ten minutes."

"Whose fault is it for not bringing an umbrella?" Ryan chuckled.

"My mom told me to bring one, but I thought it was too girly for a guy to carry an umbrella." Will handed over a bottle of ice-cold Coke and asked, "Why are you so late today? The instructor's been here a while."

Ryan casually explained, "I ran into Emma on the way and gave her a lift to the driving school, so I was delayed."

"Okay, handsome, if Emma asked you to take her, does that mean she's interested in you?"

The gossip spirit exists in both men and women. Will's eyes were ablaze with the fire of gossip.

Ryan just smiled and didn't answer, instead asking, "How's your chat with pattie going?"

"It's okay, I guess."

Will scratched his head, changed his tone, and said with a hint of disappointment, "It's just that I feel like I have the worst luck."

"How so?" Ryan asked curiously.

"Every time I chat with pattie, it's always the wrong time. It's always when she's about to sleep or take a bath. Isn't that unlucky?"

Seeing Will's serious expression, Ryan couldn't help but fall into deep thought...

Who gave this guy the courage to say "it's okay, I guess"?

After a long silence, Ryan patted him on the shoulder and said seriously, "Will, I think maybe pattie isn't right for you."

As a best friend, he felt obligated to advise Will not to go too far down the path of chasing after someone who wasn't interested.

"It's okay, I think she's perfect." Will grinned happily.

Ryan regretted ever agreeing to help Will get pattie number on WhatsApp.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have turned into such a puppy...

"Alright, go for it then!"

Seeing how happy he was, Ryan didn't say anything more.

As a man, you have to go through some setbacks to grow up.
