Park jolted awake in his dorm room.
Just then...
"SHERIFF WANTS EVERYONE BY THE FIELD STAT!!!!" a voice boomed down the hallway.
"Yesterday and now this?!"
Park said as he donned the issued attire provided by the academy. It was time for physicals. They were always held three times a week. It was 5 A.M. If it was not any less clear, Park was clearly running on fumes.
[Abnormality det.....]
"SHUUUTTT UUPPPP!!!!" Park sharply responded to the mysterious voice unawares.
Park rushed down the hallway and down the stairs only muttering expletives under his breath as the only sound that could be heard was the clattering echo of his heavy boots.
The adrenaline of getting late was the only thing keeping him alive.
That and plus the mouthful that he would receive if he was even a second late.
"Why is it that today of all days that the field feels SOOO FAAARRR."
Just when the field was in sight...
Park was done for.
Everyone stood there silently, looking at him.
But something was wrong with them, black blood oozed from their empty eye sockets.
Others had half of their face gone. Only replaced by a meshwork of maggots trying to feast on their facial remains, as they bathed in the flowing black ooze.
Altogether they chanted, "Saaavvee uussss!! Saaavveeee uuussss!!! Saaaa...."
"Park?"
He felt a hand on his back.
Suddenly everyone was gone.
No one was at the field.
"Did you see that?" Park asked whoever was behind him.
"You have his power... yessssss... you will suffice for the ceremony..."
Suddenly the grip shifted to his shoulders...
Before his very eyes the scene shifted from an ordinary field of grass to a sea of bodies.
All in their varying states of decomposition.
The sea of bodies suddenly grasped at him tugging at him coughing out black blood on his boots.
He could feel something else.
The maggots.
They were under his skin.
He could feel them as they invaded every single cell of his being. Every single orifice in his body. He was full to the brim as they crawled about.
He could not even see clearly. He was slowly losing his sight.
"MMMPPH MMMPPH!!!" He couldn't even speak.
They were everywhere.
It was not real, or was it?
And then...
A sharp pain.
A terrible pain unlike anything else he ever felt.
Who was it?
Was it that person or thing or whatever it was that spoke behind him?
He could only stand in place as something dug into his flesh.
He couldn't move, he couldn't scream even if he wanted to....
Was this it?
Was this the end?
But he had just gotten here.

It was silent.
The pain was now just a numb feeling.

Park couldn't see, couldn't hear, couldn't fee...

Black steam rose from Park's body. The Maggots in his body boiled and popped. Their joint screeches altogether produced a hissing sound.
The ones that were inside his body were terminated while those that filled his facial orifices dropped on the ground.
