Nick didn't say anything after Crystal returned home. Crystal went to take a hot bath. Her heart was still beating wildly while taking a bath. Maybe it was due to adrenaline?
Maybe no matter how tolerant a person is, there will be a day when she explodes. No matter how kind a person is, she has her own dark side. Maybe she is like this in the first place?
Crystal shook her head.
She no longer recognizes herself.
Nick ordered takeout for dinner. Nick can't cook, but he can do simple housework, which is already a big deal. Dinner was a cold daylily, a bowl of spinach and tofu, and a pile of stir-fried small yellow croakers.
It's very plain but very homely. It's the homely style that Crystal likes.
People who look alike probably have some similarities in some hobbies. Like Brandon, Nick doesn't like to eat very much. He took two tiny bites, but he stopped hastily after moving his chopsticks a few times.
"Why do you eat so little? This fish is delicious. Can I help you pick out the spines?" As soon as he finished speaking, Crystal felt embarrassed.
Nick and Brandon looked so much alike that she subconsciously mistook Nick for Brandon.
Brandon is always very picky when eating. He actually likes to eat fish, but he is too lazy to pick fish bones. Olivia and Harry have served him, but he is not happy to be served by these two people because he feels it is too strange.
But he liked being served by Crystal.
Nick didn't say anything. He held his chin up and said, "If you come back this time, you won't go back again?"
Crystal was stunned and set down her bowl and chopsticks.
"I won't go back," she said.
Nick groaned, "Have you let go of all the people and things in the past?"
As smart as him, Nick is thoughtful. Even if Crystal didn't say anything, he could probably guess the cause and effect.
Crystal thought for a while and showed a tired smile, "Let it all go."
"Don't hate it anymore?"
"I don't hate it anymore."
Nick chuckled lightly, "I forgot what the little fat guy from the Jones family was called, but he's really..."
Crystal also smiled and said, "That child is indeed very troublesome..."
When Daniel was first born, Father Jones helped take care of him for a while, and then left. After that, the task of taking care of the children simply fell on Crystal. She had to go to school, take care of Jade, and raise a newborn baby. She couldn't sleep for more than four hours a day. During those days...
Life is simply worse than death.
"That child will cry as soon as he is put down from his arms. As soon as he cries..."
Crystal would be beaten whenever he cried, and there wasn't even a good piece of flesh on her face or body. Later, Nick couldn't bear it any longer and broke one of Jones's father's legs. Now it was better. Finally, Jones's father didn't have to go out and could stay at home. Take a good look at the little fat man.
"And that girl...called Jade?" Crystal nodded.
"At first, it was just you coming over, and I would give you a few pieces of candy every time. Later, she came over herself. The child was only three or four years old at the time. I felt there was no need to argue with the child, so I gave her candies too."
Nick saw Crystal's hard work and usually prepared some delicious and fun food for her. Later, Jade discovered it, and these delicious and fun foods became double portions.
"Yes," Crystal smiled and said.
Nick took a sip of tea and commented in his heart, "A bad family." Being able to say it with a smile like this proves that Crystal has truly let go. In fact, Crystal hated Jones's father and mother, but as she grew older, this hatred became less obvious.
Not obvious doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it doesn't mean there won't be revenge, but because hatred has become a given result and cannot be changed. It has been so long that there is no need to think about it, delve into it, mention it again and again, just wait. The regret will be healed that day.
The hatred that is mentioned repeatedly is caused by love. This kind of hatred is caused by caring too much, but why should Crystal care about Jones's father and mother, and why should she care about Jade?
She is very open-minded now. She just needs to stay away from these annoying people. These people don't deserve any of her efforts.
"Since you can let it go, that's good."
Nick was happy for her from the bottom of his heart.
"Then you don't blame anyone?"
Blame?
Crystal paused.
"You don't have anything to know or worry about right now...are you tossing and turning and having sleepless nights?"
Maybe, there is.
She blamed Brandon.
She was very resentful of him.
No matter how much she tried to hide it, no matter how much she told herself it was not important, Crystal was still resentful. She blamed Brandon and why he had deceived her and played with her feelings.
She complained even more: Brandon didn't answer the phone that day, and Brandon and Miss Green were engaged, so everyone in City A knew.
He just hid it from her.
"The trouble should end."
Nick's voice was very distant, and Crystal felt inexplicably lonely. The next second, she smiled bitterly.
"Brother Nick, how can I tie the flower if the flower is smashed?"
