Once Toshi had left, Izuku and MeiMei simultaneously turned back to work on their own projects. Izuku continued tweaking the final stages to Toshi's voice-changer. It wasn't perfect but it was close and Izuku would need more experimentation observation on how the other's quirk worked to make it perfect. Just as he was finishing with the voice modulator, Powerloader-Sensei walked into the room, sighed, and made his way to the desk at the front.
"MeiMei. How well do you think it would work if I implemented comms into Toshi's mask?"
MeiMei didn't look up at him and without breaking focus said, "Do it!"
"Mmm great feedback. The best of the best." His tone dripped with sarcasm as he stood up and made his way over to the storage closet.
He rummaged around all of the boxes and shelves where materials were kept when an idea hit him. Rushing back out of the room, ignoring Powerloader-Sensei's call of "No running in the lab!" Izuku slid to a stop next to MeiMei, his shoes squeaking on the floor.
"MeiMei!" MeiMei stopped working to look up at his excited call.
"Ok so we - or I really - need to make comms that will fit into Toshi's mask so he can communicate with his team and what not right? Right. So what if we make comms for all of class 1-A! Like we can even link them to Eraserhead's comm so when they're at the USJ tomorrowー'' Powerloader-Sensei coughed at the mention of the training facility. "ーthey can communicate with everyone! And we can make them all rely on an outside source so if they're ever out on the field and the villain has a communication blocking quirk, their comms won't disconnect! Though they'd have to wait till after the USJ because it'll take a while to make…" Izuku tapered off, his voice becoming quieter as he started mumbling.
MeiMei looked excited and started bouncing in place.
"ZuZu let's do it! But we need measurements first!" MeiMei brought Izuku out of his mutterings.
The duo turned to their teacher, both him and the other students sweatdropped. Izuku bounced up to Powerloader-Sensei's desk and slapped his hands on the wood excitedly.
"Yes. Go just don't kill anyone." Powerloader-Sensei sighed in resignation.
"I didn'tー" Izuku started only to be cut off by MeiMei dragging him back to their shared table to grab what they need
Shouta Aizawa was hoping for no more disruptions today. It was the middle of Hero Law & Ethics when those two Chaos Gremlins once again dropped from the vents in the ceilings onto the desks underneath.
'Why can't they just enter through the door like normal people?'
Oh that's right. They're not normal people Shouta. They have been dubbed Chaos Gremlins and it's only the first week. They were obviously living up to the title. Sighing, he watched Izuku and Mei jump off their respective desks and make their way to the front of the classroom.
"What now Chaos Gremlins?" Shouta sighed in the most done-with-life way he could.
"We just want to take measurements of your students' ears!" Izuku exclaimed, pumping a fist in the air as Mei took out a notebook and pencil already with the class' names on it.
Deciding not to question the antics of the green and pink gremlins, he nodded his head and turned to address the class.
"Alright Hellions. I don't know what they're doing this for and frankly I'm not sure I want to knowー"
"TO MAKE BABIES!" Mei cheered.
"ーso I will continue on with the lesson as they take measurements of your ears. Pay attention and don't let them distract you." Shouta continued, ignoring the outburst.
The class nodded in sync and Izuku and Mei took that as their cue to start with the first student closest to them. Which just so happened to be Aoyama Yuga.
Turning back to the board, Shouta resumed the lesson.
Izuku and MeiMei worked as efficiently as they could. One of them took the measurements and relayed the information to the other to record under the student's name. It went on like this for 30 more minutes, only doing about half the class so far. Which really shouldn't have taken that long but Izuku would randomly go into rants about a student's quirk until MeiMei noticed and snapped him out of it.
When they got to the student who MeiMei had dubbed "Human Taser-kun", Izuku had to hold back more analysis. His quirk was just so interesting and Izuku wanted to learn more about it and strengthen its limitations.
Eventually, Izuku and MeiMei approached Katsuki. The blonde obviously wanted to blow Izuku's and MeiMei's heads off for even entering his general proximity, but both Support Course students had measurements to take. Grumbling, Katsuki had reluctantly let the two teens measure his ears, even if the Support Course students were a little reluctant themselves.
Turning to MeiMei after the two had safely gotten away from the blonde teen, Izuku stopped them at the unoccupied desk. "MeiMei how many students have we gotten so far?"
Flipping through the notebook and counting all the pages they had so far, even some of the analysis Izuku had rambled out, she counted and replied with a "12 students".
"Right, okay." Izuku held his chin in one hand. "So we have what, 7 more students? Minus the one Aizawa already expelled."
MeiMei vigorously nodded her head. Both of them instantly got back to work and made sure not to get distracted any longer. They still had classes themselves after all.
~~~~~~
Some time later Izuku and MeiMei exclaimed out, without a care that they were interrupting Aizawa, "We finished!"
They walked to the front, turned on their heels scarily in sync, and addressed the entire class once more.
"Alright! We were hoping to make these for you before the USJ, but even we know that's impossible unless we ignore all our classes and personal hygiene without leaving the school." Izuku paused, letting MeiMei finish off.
"SO YOU'LL HAVE THESE BY NEXT MONDAY EARLIEST!"
"And what exactly are you making for my class?" Aizawa asked with a hint of suspicion in his voice.
"It's a surprise." Izuku cheshire grinned at the man before both teens jumped onto the desks they landed on earlier and hoisted each other back into the vents.
MeiMei poked her head back out of the vent to yell a quick "BYE 1-A!" before pulling back in and replacing the vent cover, successfully leaving a confused class and weary teacher in their wake.
Shouta sighed before returning his attention back to the stunned class of 19 students and resumed the lesson once more. His thoughts, however, were on the note left on his desk in the teachers lounge this morning that was eerily similar to the one from Black Wolf he found just the other day.
'Heyo Eraser! Thx 4 giving those two ur capture scarf! Helped them a lot in their little project! I haven't forgotten our deal, just been busy with my own stuff! C'ya 2nite! XOXO <3 Black Wolf'
Well at least he gets some answers. This had better be worth it.
