Chapter 12 - Anata Nashide Wa Ikiteikenai!: I Can't Live Without You!

Chapter 12

"Move out of the way! Move it!" This girl is named Hinami, as mentioned in the last chapter, she sort of a.. Bully. Though she is a bully, she does have a soft spot. Sora was her soft spot. During biology she gets every opportunity to be partnered up with Sora. Though Sora is fairly popular due to her intelligence it's only rare she gets picked to be in her groups. But Hinami being her true self, she couldn't let that go. She'd bribe or be forced to do something bad to them if one of the kids from the group didn't switch.

You could say Hinami has an obsession, but what she doesn't know is.. Ayane and Sora are already in love with each other. Biology comes around and Hinami is sitting just a few seats behind Sora. Sora is in the front of the class talking to a bunch of other girls. Hinami knew them all though, but she didn't care. After the girls cleared up Hinami walked over to Sora.

"O-Oh hey Sora!" Sora looked over at Hinami and wasn't amused; it was the same girl pestering her about everything good in life. Sora was seriously bothered by her, especially after hearing that she was picking on Ayane. But why Ayane of all people she did not know. What she did know was it had to stop before it got worse.

"I was just wondering Sora if you'd like to—"

"No." Sora responded to Hinami before she even got to finish her question.

"I-I didn't finish yet…"

"Doesn't matter.. I don't like how you've been picking on a close friend of mine… It stops right now.. Or else I'll have you expelled from enrolling here.. Do I make myself clear..?" Hinami felt a knot in her stomach, she had never felt this feeling before, but when Sora, the nicest girl in the school stood up to her like that she felt empty.

Hinami swallowed. "Y-Yes I understand…"

"Good I'm glad we are clear with each other… But what was it you were going to ask me…?"

"O-Oh nothing… nothing at all…" Sora looked a bit confused, but sympathetic. She didn't mean to be so harsh on her. Hinami however felt the knot turn into a bottomless pit of emptiness and she was filled with sorrow. Despite being yelled at by Sora just now Hinami sat down in her seat and day dreamingly stared at Sora for the rest of class. Sora finished with classes and Ayane was still in hers, Sora decided to go back to the dorm.

Ayane was looking at books, she picked a book off a shelf and read the first three pages. She didn't know who the author was, but she really liked the book thus far. She only read three pages and she was captivated by the words and writing style of the book. Ayane shakes her head as if trying to snap herself out of the book. Curiosity got the better of her and she closed the book and looked at the part of the book that holds the back, cover, and pages together. The author of the book's name was "Himura Hyuga". Ayane smiled, reminiscing on the fun that herself, Sora, and Himura had just a few days back.

Ayane walked up to the worker at the bookstore, it was a boy with white hair and bright green eyes. She walked up to the boy. Ayane looked at him with scrutiny. He didn't look much older than her. In fact, he looked as if she'd seen him before. His ear and nose piercing stuck out to her a little bit. Nevertheless, she wanted the book, so she walked to the counter.

The boy looked at Ayane and his eyes lit up with awe, he had never seen a girl that caught his eye like she did. It was only one glance, but she looked so innocent.

"O-Oh hello. Would you like to check anything out?"

"Oh yes sir! Here you go!" Ayane extended her arm with the book in hand, the white-haired boy grabbed the book and touched her hand by mistake. He felt a flush cross his face and he took the book quickly, as if almost snatching it from her possession.

"Is this your first time coming here Ms.?"

"Yes, it is! I don't really come to libraries though my sisters an author, so I decided to get one of her books for a read"

"Huh I see" Ayane pulled out a small bag, almost like a purse and pulled out her wallet. The white-haired boy tilted his head in confusion, and just then he realized what she was doing.

"WAIT WAIT WAIT YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!"

"Huh? Why not? It says to pay on the desk right here." The white-haired boy looked down and his chest sank to his stomach.

"W-Well you can take it for free then."

"Wait really? Thank you! Why're you being so nice to me?"

"I've just never seen a girl as pretty as you before. Your kind of making me nervous."

Ayane giggles at his confession, and the white-haired boy scratches the back of his head with a dramatic sweat bead trickling down his forehead.

"My name's Koji by the way."

"My name is Ayane Hyuga!" Ayane smiled at Koji. He blushed a little, having a pretty girl in his presents was somewhat abnormal, but feeling the warmth of a smile from a girl like Ayane felt a little heavy on his chest, as if an avalanche collapsed right on his mid body area.

"Do you have a phone?"

"Me? Oh no I don't have one at all. Sorry."

"Oh, it's alright I was going to ask for your number, but you don't have a phone, so this is awkward."

Ayane giggled again. "No, it's alright."

Koji hands Ayane the book, she grasps the book and puts it inside of her mini pouch hanging from her shoulder. Ayane started walking away to the exit doors of the library.

"Come again soon Ayane!"

Ayane turned and smiled at Koji. "I will!"

She waved at Koji and exited the doors. Koji's heart skipped a beat as he watched Ayane walk out of the library doors, not paying any attention to the next customer that was next to him. He finally turned to face the customer.

"Oh, is this what you'd like to get?"

"Yes dear."

"Alright, give me one second." Still thinking about Ayane, he takes the old lady's book and scans it, he takes the money from her hand and puts it into the cash register. He also watches the old lady walk out, reminiscing about Ayane and his interaction.

About an hour later Ayane returned to the dorm with a happy cheerful tone of voice. She takes off her shoes and continues to walk through the dorm.

"Sora I'm back! I'm sorry I took so long! I was at the bookstore and met this weirdo named Koji. He was really nice though and gave me my book for free. He also asked for my phone number, but I didn't have my phone on me, so I decided not to give it to him." As Ayane was speaking, she walked into Sora's room and saw her asleep at her desk, with a sheet of paper right under her face. Ayane smiled and walked over.

"Oh Sora… Silly girl…" Ayane stood Sora up and helped her to bed. Ayane looked at Sora for a moment and began to walk off, until she heard Sora's sleepy, subtle, and gentle voice call her name.

"Ayane….." Ayane stopped in her tracks and then turned around, walking back towards Sora.

"Yes…?"

"I'm getting sleep… Just like you wanted Ayane…"

"I can see you fell asleep at your desk silly…"

"I'm… Silly?..."

"Yes.. Yes you are.."

Ayane sat down at the edge of Sora's bed and listened to her speak. As she listened, her ears heard something next that she couldn't mistake for anything different.

"Ayane…"

"Yes Sora…?"

"Will you kiss my forehead…" Ayane let out a soft gasp, mainly of shock, but also because Ayane herself wanted to do something like that for a very long time. Ayane smiles sweetly at Sora, even though Sora couldn't see Ayane with her eyes closed.

"Of course, Sora…" Not too long before giving her answer, Ayane leaned forward and pressed her soft lips against Sora's forehead. The more Ayane held the forehead kiss, the longer she grew attached to Sora. Ayane decided to part her lips from her forehead, before she got too carried away and weirded her out. Ayane backs up a little, Sora after that didn't say a word. Ayane stayed and watched Sora sleep a little while longer. Before leaving the room. Ayane closed Sora's door and leaned against it. Ayane's heart was racing at absurd paces, but she couldn't contain her excitement, happiness, and most importantly… Love. For the first time since her mother died, the hole in Ayane's heart was filled. Ayane.. Had found her true love.. Like her mother always wanted. Ayane felt her mother's presence hug her from behind, and could vividly hear the words,

"I'm proud of you, and your sister honey." Ayane fell down to her knees just outside of Sora's door.. And began to cry.
