Just like how Sasha got her element checked after she awakened magic, she wanted him to get his checked as well.
This was important for a seeker because it determines the path of the said seeker.
...
Julius walked by a garden and saw three boys with red hair training with swords. He noticed that they looked extremely identical.
'The triplets, I haven't even spoken to them,' Julius thought and walked towards them.
'They probably don't like me, as they will want to fight me for the throne in the future. And I have no intention of taking the throne.' Julius shook his head as he walked into the garden. The three boys looked at him warily and stared down at him.
"Hey guys, before I say anything else, I just want you boys to know that I won't be going for the throne."
The boys seemed stunned by his words as they all looked at each other.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" one of the boys said as he walked forward.
He had an athletic build. His red hair was longer than that of the others, and he tied it up in a ponytail. He stared at Julius with his deep brown eyes, and Julius shook his head.
"I just don't want to be enemies, Rowan. We can train together sometime," Julius said. Then another one came from behind.
"This is our private training space. Leave if you don't want to get hurt," another one said, and Julius looked behind Rowan to see a boy who was slightly shorter than Rowan staring at him angrily.
He had green eyes, and his hair was rather short compared to Rowan's. He was extremely handsome for a 12-year-old.
Julius smirked and turned around to leave. Who was he to change their minds on this issue? It was their culture.
'Fine, if they want to come at me, then come at me. I need strength.' A murderous glint flashed in his eyes as he walked away.
"Cedar, why did you chase him away?" the third one asked, and Rowan looked back.
"Why wouldn't I? He was talking rubbish. As princes, it's our destiny to meet on a battlefield for the throne," Cedar said as he looked at his brother.
The third brother had very low-cut hair and his eyes were green, just like his brothers'. However, he seemed to have a blue symbol of a snowflake on his forehead.
"I don't necessarily support that tradition. But I guess I can change it when I'm king."
"River!" Cedar squeezed his fists as he heard his brother's words.
"Calm down, Cedar. Just grow stronger so that you won't be lost in the battle. River has already surpassed normal novice mages all on his own. It's left for us to catch up," Rowan said with a smile as he wrapped an arm around Cedar.
Both of them looked up to River. Having a divine element and being recognized by a powerful spirit at such a young age, his future was looking bright.
...
'Damn. Why aren't all these dangerous characters looked over by the author? That River already had a spiritual pact.' Julius couldn't help but sweat.
Spirits were invisible beings that existed all around, watching over all the races from the shadows. They offer blessings to people based on their preferences.
People blessed by spirits are able to grow far stronger than others in magic. Becoming saints in this world of power would not be too difficult for them.
"Haha..." Julius couldn't help but laugh at his own position.
Being blessed by a God which he doesn't recognize from the novel, and not even given any powerful techniques or anything. He was indeed walking an uncertain path.
...
Julius arrived at an old ashen door which, by a glance, seemed to be over two meters tall.
He gently knocked on the door and in less than five minutes, Sasha came and opened the door.
"What took you so long? Come on!" She excitedly dragged him into the room.
Julius smiled as he entered, and he saw another woman wearing a long green robe sitting on a chair next to his mother.
The woman was extremely beautiful, with long, curly black hair. Her eyes were a deep shade of jade which seemed to contain infinite knowledge.
She glanced over at Julius with a smile; her beauty could definitely match that of his mother.
"So you're the little Julius. Before we proceed to do the element testing, I have a few questions for you," the woman spoke, and then a pitch-black ball appeared in her hands.
"How did you manage to awaken magic?" the woman asked, and his mother also looked at him.
"Well, we crossed that valley of forgotten dreams and then we found a small crystal on top of a huge mountain which made me awaken my magic when I swallowed it," Julius said, and the woman couldn't help but frown.
"You crossed the valley? There's something beyond that place?"
"Eh... More like in the middle. There's a mountain which the valley surrounds. There were no monsters there so it was easy going in and leaving."
Even if Julius was just a child, the woman seriously wanted to question him further, specifically on how he managed to cross the valley.
The valley of forgotten dreams had its name because the fog causes people to see strong illusions which are hard to break out of.
The woman sighed and shook her head.
"Final question. How did you pass the fog?" she asked, and Julius frowned.
Now that was a question he didn't know how to answer for sure.
"I saw a golden line guiding me through the fog," Julius said, and then the woman sighed once more.
"The world will is an absolute existence. I won't question its decision any further," the woman said, and then she stretched forth the black ball to him.
"Place your hand on the ball," the woman said with a smile, and Julius did as he was told.
In the next instant, the orb emitted a bright white color, and the woman's face turned grim.
She looked back at Margaret with a sad face, and Julius didn't understand what her expression was all about.
"Is something wrong?" Margaret asked as she looked at the woman, and the woman could only speak.
"He's awakened the element of light."
