Queen Lucinda sat by the edge of her bed,her neck was imprinted with red marks inflicted on her by the king. Her eyes were red with unshed tears.this is the first time the king lays a finger on her,and its all because of calypso,a slave daughter.her eyes were cold with a killing glint,she gritted her teeth anger consuming her whole being.
Lord Kai invited the royal household for a soiree at his manor in ALLENIR,the king and the queen won't be available for the soiree,but Alfred,Gabrielle Alondria and calypso would go for the soiree.
The king ordered the royal seamstress to bring in gowns for his daughters.the seamstress was in the drawing room along with the queen,the kings mother,Gabrielle and Alondria,calypso knows not to step foot there,she'll only end up getting criticized an insulted.
Gabrielle chose a red gown that is covered with pearly beads.Alondria chose same style but it was blue in color.the gowns were very elegant and beautiful.
Calypso waited for them to finish selecting their gowns before she enters the drawing room.
"greetings my third princess" the seamstress greeted with a sneer,her dislike for the third princess was evidently written on her face.
Calypso didnt bother returning the greetings if people want to be rude to her,she can also do same,she don't want to waste time with the seamstress,she saw two gowns which caught her eyes.
One is a ocean green flowing gown,it has long sleeves and a V neck,the gown was embedded with shiny crystals at the hems. its simple but she knows green always looks stunning on her.
The other was blue in color,she chose it because it matches with her eyes.
"my lady,but,you're only suppose to pick one gown"
"Says who?"
"T-t-t-"
"My father is paying for it,I can chose as many as I want" calypso curtly cut her off.The seamstress fumed in anger as she watched the third princess leave with both gowns.
"You look excited today Sister" Alondria was wondering what was making her sister happy today. the soiree it much later,but Gabrielle is dressed already.
"Can't I be happy in peace now Alo" Gabrielle smiled turning from the mirror to face her sister who was leaning by the door frame.
"How do I look" she added with a wide grin.
"you look gorgeous as usual sister,but why do I have a bad feeling about your smile"
"well Alo you can take Your bad feeling and shove it down your throat,..I can't believe my happiness is giving you a bad feeling"
"Yeah because you're happy only if you're planning something mischievous" Alondria stated with an eye roll.
"Go get dressed sister,its gonna be a sweet soiree today" Gabrielle grinned.
calypso was in her room,she sprayed both gowns on the bed and was torn on which to wear to the soiree. its the first time she's attending a soiree outside the palace,and she's a bit excited,she plans on politely rejecting lord Kai today,she doesn't want to keep his hopes high.
He can marry Gabrielle its obvious she's head over heels with him. they'll make a perfect Couple she chuckled at her silly thought.
"Hey vanima(beautiful)"
She jumped in fright hearing the voice in her room.
"Sorry I frightened you" he chuckled at her scared expression.
Calypso was shocked to see lord xerox leaning lazily by her door frame,who let him into her BED chamber.
"Xerox,why are you here" she whisper yelled she rushed and checked the corridors to see if anyone is there,it could bring a great deal of gossip if someone saw xerox in her bedchamber,she immediately shut the doors.
"Am I not suppose to be here"
"Of course,this is a princess's bed chamber,its a scandal if someone sees you here"
"Stop whispering" he whispered and burst into laughter,but he stopped when he noticed she was frowning.
"OK OK chill princess,I asked Alfred about your whereabout and he told me you are in your room,what was I suppose to do"
"Isn't it obvious,tell a servant to come get me while you wait in the drawing room"
"OK..OK..OK..lesson taken I'll do that next time" he chuckled.
"You should go,I'll come see you at the drawing room shortly"
Xerox smiled and nodded.
"OK,but in case you want my opinion blue looks good on you" he complimented with a smile and left.
Calypso smiled and sighed with relieve,gosh lord xerox can be so unreasonable sometimes,how did he even know how to locate her bed chamber.
She took his advice. after coming out of the bath,the maids help her get dressed in the blue gown.
God she can't breath well,the corset is too tight.
They styled her hair in a bun letting tendrils fall by the side of her face,the makeup was light giving her pale face some color.
"Is there anything you'll need Milady" the maid asked after they were done dressing her.
"No thank you" calypso smiled. and the maids left,closing the door with a thud,she gazed at her self in the mirror with a smile,xerox is right,blue indeed looks good on her,she traced her fingers on her bare neck,a jewelry is needed for her dressing to be complete,guess she'll need to open her mothers old jewelry box to see if she can find some jewelry.
Just then a knock was heard on the door.
And Alondria's head pooped in before she came in fully .
Calypso was surprised what's Alondria doing here.
"um hi"
"Hi"
Alondria sighed looking very nervous
"my mother didn't I send me here if that's what you're thinking,they don't even know am here" she rushed her words.
"What do you want"
Alondria was surprised by the hostility in her voice but she can't blame her.
"Look um calypso am really sorry for everything,even though I don't use to bully you,I should have stood up and defended you,I wished I could but my hands were tied,
I shouldn't have just stood by the sidelines watching my mother and sister hurt you..
Am really sorry"
Calypso could hear the sincerity and regret in her voice,she's not faking the apology,but she still has to be cautious,these people are really good actors.
"What made you suddenly apologize"
Asked calypso
"The guilt is chewing me up calypso,I have no peace." Alondria sighed with her head lowered.
"Here I brought you this,I remembered my mother seized all your jewelry" Said Alondria bringing out a little jewelry box from where she hid it,calypso didn't even notice she came in with something else.
Calypso cautiously collected the box and dropped it on the dresser.
"Thanks"she muttered.
"Am really sorry,,,,,umm you should hurry we are all waiting for you in the drawing room" Alondria smiled before heading to the door,but paused mid way.
"Be careful with Gabrielle today,she seems to be up to no good" Alondria warned before taking her leave.
Calypso furrowed her brow In confusion.
What really is going on.
Why did Alondria suddenly apologized?.
She opened the box and found a Beautiful simple looking necklace and earrings,it looks simple but elegant. but there's no way she's going to wear that on she still do not trust any of them.
She went u to her closet and brought out the old jewelry box she blew the dust off it making her cough.
She opened it gently and immediately a bright blue light emitted from the box blurring her vision.
She felt her body react in a strange way,she felt as if her body was on fire,she shrieked in pain and immediately dropped the box,clutching her burning body. The pain was unbearable.
Surprisingly the burning sensation all over her body got replaced with a soothing cold,she sighed in relive,what was that,what just happened to her. her brow furrowed in confusion,everything happened so quick.the burning sensation left her body so quickly as it came.
She glanced at the box and saw what fell from it,it was a very beautiful necklace,it had a silver chain and a blue pendant in shape of a tear drop.
She took the necklace and examined it,it looks so ethereal,she looked closely at the blue pendant and discovered there were some tiny green dust dancing inside,the pendant looks alive.
"Beautiful she muttered with a smile"
She immediately put it around her neck and she felt some current surge through her veins,whatever this is she like it already.
And it matches her dress.
She also noticed an old parchment in the box,she slowly took it and opened it,she was shocked to find out the letter was addressed to her. but..this letter seems even way older than her.
She slowly opened the parchment,the content written in there made her hands shook,a lone tear slide down her cheeks,her blood ran cold.
She immediately cleaned her tears and composed her self when she heard the maid reminding her its almost time for the soiree. she placed the parchment in a tiny pocket of her dress and headed to the where the carriages were parked waiting to take them to the soiree.
Unknown to her this soiree will change the direction of her life forever,a soiree she'll regret attending.
