Chereads / Falling For The Player / Chapter 3 - Jace

Chapter 3 - Jace

I'm at my locker putting all my stuff

away to end my day and go home. I'm

tired and a bit grumpy; I had just

gotten a essay to do that was to be a

six page paper about famous authors

in history, which meant I'm going to

have to write about something really

stupid, and really boring; and then

probably help Kas write his too.

I usually don't tend to complain about

school and assignments, I just take

them and do them because most of

the time it's no problem. But it's

totally unfair if a teacher assigns

during the middle of the week and

expects it due by the end of the week.

| slam my locker shut, turning around

to find Kas leaning against the

other lockers.

 "Hello my gorgeous

best friend. How was your day?" He

asked, kissing my forehead. I

narrowed my eyes at him

suspiciously, but thought no more of

his cheer attitude.

Someone had a really good day, who banged him in the bathroom? He's usually not this cheery by the end of the day.

I sigh loudly, as he offers to carry my

books. We head out of the school,

walking slowly asI explain about my

miserable day. "For starters, I have a

six page paper to write for English, I

still have to study for chemistry, and on

top of all that, I have homework for

every class, and I've got a massive headache" I complain, leaning my

head against his arm. "I thought

people said senior year is easy. I don't

see me getting any sleep tonight."

"Aw, I'm sorry you had a miserable

day" He said, kissing the top of my

head again.

"No you aren't." I murmured.

"No, I'm not" He chuckles. I looked at

him and stuck my tongue out. I spot

his car and start walking to it, but he

spins me around to face him.

"Um, Ariella, I've got practice." Asher

scrunches up his face, looking like he

was regretting saying that to me.

Kas is always my ride to and from

school. Usually I didn't mind staying

with him at practice because |

become so bored that I'm forced to

do homework because there's

nothing better to do. Today is just not

one of those day.

"Ugh, I completely forgot!" I whined,

face palming myself. All I want to do

is go home, take some ibuprofen, possibly

nap, and cram in all my homework

that is to be done by the end of the

night. Mostly I want ibuprofen and a nap,

and the metal bleachers aren't a place

to take naps.

"Sorry, but I have some painkillers l and you can do your homework while you wait

like you always do," He reminds me.

Good enough deal. I'm definitely not going to walk home.

"'Fine. Give me piggy back ride there, then" I asked sweetly batting my eyelashes.

"Hey what's this here?" He asks

sarcastically poking at my legs, "Oh

yeah, functioning legs to walk on. You

should try using them."

I gave him... the

smoldering look. Mine is more

attractive than Flynn's

in Tangled though.

"Ugh, fine. Jump on" He mumbled, bending down in

defeat so I could get on with ease.

While Kas has his puppy dog look I can't

resist, I have mastered the adorable

smoldering look.

I giggle, hopping on his back, twining

my hands around his neck and

hitching my legs around his waist. I

feel kind of bad that he's caring my

body weight plus my books, but he'

strong enough to carry all this. He is a

football player for Christ's sakes, the

linebacker are heavier to tackle than

me!

"Come on, Lockhart, pick up the pace.

Think of this as a pre-warm up before

practice. Move it, move it" l ordered,

shouting in his ear being a little

encouraging.

He scoffed, "You're kidding me right?"

"Does this look like a kidding face to

you? Now move your ass, come on pick up those legs!" I coach, hiding the smile

on my face that shows I'm idding,

but he can't see it so he believes I'm serious.

"Literally, you are the pain in my ass,"

He complained, speed walking to the

field. "Maybe I should just leave you to walk home."

"If you dare do that I'll strangle you in your sleep. Then you'll truly understand pain!"

I laughed, joking with him; I would be

one damn good coach. We both start

laughing as he crosses the field and

sets me on the bleachers. He places

my books near me, and messes up

my hair before jogging off to the

locker rooms."You're weak, Lockhart!

No girl will ever fall for your lazy behind! Got to lay off the junk food!" I teased shouting at him.

"You've influenced me to be a lazy

potato sack!" He laughed before

heading into the building. I'm noting

close to a lazy potato sack.

I laughed to myself, picking up my

math textbook and starting some

equations. I was done with my twenty

problems when the guys had just

finished doing warm ups. And let me

tell you this, it's not a pretty sight to

watch; boys are so inflexible! Their

groaning makes me feel

uncomfortable.

I pick up my chemistry shit and start

Working on whatever we were

learning. I suck at physics, but I'm a bit better at chemistry, but I don't

even know what I'm doing on my

homework right now. Surprisingly, Kas is really good at science. Usually I just copy

him or he tutors me. But it mostly

involves me copying him and I can do

that because he practically does it

with all my homework's that I finish.

I was still stuck on the first question

when someone came up from behind

me, quietly, talking to me, "You got number seven wrong. The correct answer is

Sodium Hydroxide" a husky voice corrected me.

I turned around quickly finding the

sexy god sitting behind me. That's

right, you know who I'm talking about,

Jace Black! I stare at him in shock, my jaw almost touching my knees.

Is he talking to me? I start my

nonsense rambling that makes me

look like an idiot.

"Oh...Uhh... Yeah…Um- Uh Thanks... I knew that,"

Yeah…smooth, Ariella. I thought,

mentally slapping myself. There's no way he'd think of you as a complete weirdo.

He chuckles at my rambling. His

laugh is so sexy, I thought I died and

went to heaven! I smile worriedly,

feeling a blush forming on my face.

"I'm sure you did. I'm also sure you know that number three's answer is actually Methane?" He replies with an amused smile.

I look at my notes with the dumbest look you could ever imagine.

"Need help?" He offers.

Oh my God! This is legit the longest

conversation we've ever had! Never

mind that this was the first time we've

ever talked since October 14th at 12:33PM!

Wait, what was today's date,

again?

"Yeah- yeah. Sure, I mean if you insist…Umm."

He took a seat next to me, taking

book off my lap. Oh my God! He's touching my book! I gonna faint! Or drop dead! Maybe both if possible!
