I never envisioned my Sunday afternoon to start or end like this. She chased me around the living room, throwing anything she could find, while I dodged it, running for my dear life.
"How did you get this email? How did they get your email address to email you this information?" she screamed. She was right. I was so nervous in the exam hall that I wrote my email instead of hers. I hid behind Sage as she grabbed my hands.
"Stop it, both of you!" she yelled, sighed, and took a seat on the couch.
"Answer her, Claire. How did they get your email?" she said, staring at me. I avoided her gaze, chewing on my lips.
"I...I wrote my email by mistake."
She scoffed, standing up. "Really? You expect me to believe it was all a mistake?"
"See, Mother, she is jealous of me, jealous that I am a lot prettier and everything is going well for me. She wants to ruin everything!" Kaylee said with disdain.
"Here is my decision. You will continue at St. Teresa and will never attend Rome High. Is that clear?" I nodded with my head bowed. I wasn't even interested in going in the first place. I was okay with my school.
"I don't want to go to Rome High," I simply stated.
"It doesn't matter what you want or don't want. Besides, Rome High is too good for you, and if I don't go there, you can't either," Kaylee replied with a smirk before walking away.
And that was the agreement, but what changed, I wasn't sure. The next day, a man dressed in a suit came with a uniform claiming it was for me from Rome High, but Sage chased him out, saying her niece would never go to such a school. Nevertheless, I wasn't bothered at all.
**Somewhere in Rome High School**
The weather was warm for those outside the M5 base. The room was cool due to the air conditioner. It had a nice comfy sofa, a large screen, table tennis and other games, a huge fridge, and a chandelier that gave a little light to the room. It was called the M5 basement. It was where they all hung out as friends or if they weren't interested in going to class.
"Can I stop now?" Bruno was pleased as he kept doing sit-ups while Mattio sat on his back.
"Come on, Bruno, are you a chicken? The entire school fears you as the school's biggest bully, and you can't do a simple sit-up?" Mattio said, slapping his head.
"I said a thousand sit-ups. You have only done five hundred and you're complaining!" he shouted as Emiliano, who was playing cards with Andrea, rolled his eyes.
"Come on, keep going. Continue counting," Andrea added, laughing.
"I won," Emiliano announced, dropping his card nonchalantly. This was his third win and he was already bored as hell.
"Hey, you won because I was distracted by this fool," Andrea snarled as he stood up and kicked Bruno in his stomach, causing both Mattio and him to fall.
"Hey!" he exclaimed. Mattio stood up, glaring at his offender.
"I guess you have to start again," Andrea shrugged before walking to the girl whose attention had been on her phone all this time. She was seated on the sofa with a bottle of yoghurt in one hand and her phone in the other.
"Don't you have class?" he said, snatching the phone from her. Her siren grey eyes finally settled on him as the corner of her mouth curved.
"It's Mr. Afonso's subject. I'm not interested," she replied, snatching her phone back. She was an impressive beauty. Her hair was a straight chestnut colour with a strip of red in it, giving her this badass bitch aura. She had sharp grey eyes with siren-shaped eyes. Her lips were thin yet complemented her features. She was beautiful.
"I know, I just want your attention," he stated, sitting next to her as he grabbed her wrist and placed a kiss on it.
"I lost the game to Emiliano because of your rebellious beauty," he sang as Emiliano chuckled.
"Really?" she smirked, dropping her phone to face him and pulling him into a kiss.
"Aww," Bruno cooed.
"Hey, keep doing the sit-ups. This is your punishment for failing me," Mattio shouted. Suddenly, the door banged open, unleashing a very furious Belkis.
She came into the room and began to scatter everything.
"What's with the attitude?" Bruno said while on his punishment. She turned to him, her fists clenched.
"What is he doing here?" she asked, glaring at him. Mattio swallowed.
"He made a mistake. I'm punishing him," he replied. She scoffed, walking closer to him.
"And who gave you the power to punish anyone? Tell him to get out!" she screamed. He nodded and Bruno left, but this loud noise did not stop the lovebirds from swallowing each other's faces.
"What did the principal say?" Mattio said as he led her to sit down. She frowned, her eyes turning red.
"I have never been this insulted, and that too, all because of that girl! Tommaso Russo, how dare he!" she screamed, causing the two couples to break contact. Everyone turned to her, their faces all holding the same puzzled expression.
"What is wrong now?" Aurora rolled her eyes.
"Andrea, your brother is an asshole," she said, pointing at him.
"Well, everyone knows that. What did he do?" he replied, still holding onto Aurora.
"He told me to make a public apology to that girl. I, Belkis, apologize to that circus animal. How dare they," she whined, standing up.
"I still haven't avenged my humiliation, and he wants to make me a fool in public. No, Andrea, speak to your brother!" He sighed, staring blankly at her.
"You know all this wouldn't be happening if you just controlled your anger," Aurora replied, taking a sip from her yoghurt.
"What can Andrea do about it? His brother is the principal, not him. How is he supposed to help you?" she added, giving a subtle smirk.
"I don't care how, but both of you have to use your power to solve this issue," she replied.
"Get me a beer," she ordered, pacing around as Mattio obeyed. He came back some seconds later, handing her the bottle.
"The reputation of the school is at stake because of your impulsive behaviour, and you think you can buy yourself out of this as usual? Just swallow your pride and apologize to her. There is no big deal," Emiliano, who has been quiet all this time, spoke, his face holding a bored expression.
"Besides, the video of you bullying her is viral. The entire Rome knows it. There is no way they will let it slide," Andrea shrugged. His hands proceeded from Aurora's waist to her lap as she giggled, making Belkis all the more irritated. Their entire relationship was already getting on her nerves. Now they are both playing lovey-dovey while she is sulking.
"It makes me wonder who shot that video," Mattio pouted. She scowled.
"It was your job, wasn't it? You were to make sure what happens in Rome High stays in Rome High," she replied, glaring at him.
"No! I will die, but I will never apologize to that girl. Instead, I will avenge that slap. A lowlife like her dared to hit me," she said with a smirk, feeling her cheeks as tears rolled down her eyes.
"Then don't do it. Make a student apologize in your place. How will they know?" Aurora mocked as Belkis's smirk widened.
"You're right," she replied as everyone stared at her with narrowed eyes. After the incident that occurred in the school, Belkis investigated who the girl who slapped her was and realized she was there to write the exam in place of someone else. Belkis reported it, and Kaylee's name was removed from the list of students who wrote the exams, but after the viral video, everything seemed to have turned against her.
**Sage (P.O.V.)**
We were finally closed for the day, and my body was aching from typing on a computer all day. Ugh, if only I had a golden spoon in my mouth, then I wouldn't be suffering like this. Well, I was close to it. That good-for-nothing stepbrother of mine had to die. Now I am forced to deal with his annoying daughter. I grabbed my bags, about to leave, when Kara stopped me.
"Sage! Mr. Russo wants to see you," she said. I frowned, completely clueless. My boss wants to see me. How does he know me? I mean, I have never seen him before, only heard his name. In fact, hardly does anyone knows how he looks, well, except for Kara since she is his secretary...
"I hope I am not losing my job again. Did he figure out I never come early?" I pondered.
"Mrs. Sage?" she called out, bringing me out of my intrusive thoughts.
"Let's go," I replied. She led me to his office and left. I took a deep breath before placing a knock.
"Enter," I heard a deep voice speak. I walked into the luxurious-looking office suited for a CEO. Ugh, he enjoyed himself here while we scrape on little spaces called an office.
"Sir, you called," I said in the softest tone I could make, my head bowed. Yes, I know I was getting old, but back in the day, I used to be a seductress.
"Sit," he replied. I obeyed, raising my head to face him, and surprisingly, he was handsome
"Miss Willson have you heard of the Rome High news" he stated staring at his documents
" Yes sir" I frowned, don't tell me his a nosy boss
" You are Mrs claire's guardian right?" I nodded puzzled
" Give your consent for her to study at Rome High" he simply said like it was an order I scoffed glaring at him
" sir with all due respect my personal life is not your business, and neither is the school I choose for my niece " I answered already irritated
" Sure, but when it comes to my school's reputation it becomes my business" he replied dropping his document to face me
"What?..."
