Sam hesitated for a heartbeat, his mind racing with reasons why this was a bad idea but the feel of her lips against his and the softness of her touch, melted his resistance.
She tested heavenly.
He responded, deepening the kiss as his arms tightened around her.
The elevator and its troubles faded away, leaving only the two of them in their own world. Ashley's hands slid up to his neck, pulling him closer as her initial fear was replaced by a different kind of urgency.
When they finally broke apart, they were both breathless, their foreheads resting against each other.
"We shouldn't be doing this," Sam murmured, his voice husky with emotion.
"Maybe not," Ashley replied, her eyes searching his.
"But it feels right." She whispered, her heart racing. Ashley had imagined what it could feel like when he eventually kissed her but the imagination paled in comparison to reality.
