Chapter 20 - collision

Lisa had spent most of the day with Lian Que after discussing her plan with Sam. She had taken both lunch and breakfast with her and requested her to seat in his office with.

When the sun had dipped below the horizon and working hours were over, Lisa and Lian left the building, stepping into the cool embrace of the evening.

The sky was a deepening blue, stars beginning to twinkle like distant promises. Lian's car, sleek and dark, waited for them in the parking lot and he opened the door for Lisa, his eyes scanning the area out of habit.

As they drove through the quiet streets, they sat in a comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts.

"How are you feeling?" Lian asked, breaking the silence.

"Tired but hopeful," Lisa replied, looking out the window at the passing lights.

"Sam was a great help and I actually enjoyed spending the day with you." She said and Lian looked at her for a long time, his gaze unfathomable.
