Lian was by her side in an instant, pulling her into his arms and holding her tight as she fell apart.
His own heart was pounding, every fiber of his being screaming to fix this, to make it right, but he was helpless against the tide of Lisa's grief.
"Lisa, we'll find her. I swear, we'll find her," he murmured, his voice trembling despite his efforts to stay strong.
But even as he spoke, the fear gnawed at him...what if they were too late?
What if Ivy was right, and they never found her? The thought alone nearly crushed him.
Lisa clung to him, her sobs muffled against his chest. "She has our baby, Lian… she has our baby… What if… what if she..."
"No," Lian interrupted, his voice firm despite the quiver in it. "Don't go there, Lisa. Don't even think it. We're going to get her back, do you hear me? We'll get our Lianna back, and Ivy will pay for this. Every last thing she's done, she'll pay for."
