Chapter 44 - sunshine

Over the next three days, Lisa felt down because of how horribly her comeback had gone and Lian had been supportive and encouraging but it still sucked.

That lingering feeling of defeat seemed to loom over her no matter how much she tried to smile and put it behind her.

It was frustrating not having a clear head to properly plan her next step and the feeling worsened once she saw Ivy swiftly move and secure her position as the new CEO of the Yang group.

All Lisa wanted to do was to stay curled up in her room away from the world but her fiery spirit couldn't let her give up so easily even though she felt like she was just holding onto a tiny spark that was at the risk of going out.

She stood up from the sofa where she had been sitting for most of the afternoon, overlooking the vibrant city at a distance that somehow felt dull and distant in her view.

Slacking and beating herself up for Ivy's actions wasn't going to make her feel any better.
