On the other side of town, Ivy sat in her dimly lit office, her fingers drumming impatiently on the glass desk. The piercing ring of her phone shattered the silence and she sighed once she saw the caller ID. It belonged to one of the executives at the company.
"Yes, Richard?" she answered, barely able to contain her frustration at being called at such a late hour.
"Ivy, I wanted to discuss some recent... developments." The man said and Ivy's brows furrowed slightly.
"What do you have to say?" She asked, her tone bored.
"Lisa Yang has blackmailed me and a few others. I'm sure you could understand why I've decided to... reconsider our partnership," Richard stammered.
"Reconsider?" Ivy's voice was a low growl. "You mean abandon. Just say it, Richard. Lisa got to you, and now you're running scared."
"Ivy, it's not personal. She has leverage—" the poor man tried to explain himself.
