Chapter 1 - Vengeful Rebirth

Leah woke up from a deep sleep disoriented; she blinked, trying to make sense of her environment. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't ignore the familiarity of the room she was in.

It was her old bedroom, with the same colour, faded posters on the walls, and the scent of her favourite childhood perfume lingering in the air.

"What am I doing here? I clearly remembered I had an accident," Leah asked herself with confusion written on her face. She examined herself, but there wasn't a hint of any scratch or bruise. This made her puzzled.

She remembered her previous life vividly—the heartbreak, betrayal, struggles, and ultimate tragedy that led to her death. The contrast between those painful memories and her current circumstances was overwhelming.

Her thoughts raced as she tried to make sense of her newfound reality. Questions flooded her mind like a tidal wave, "How is this possible? Why am I back here?" These questions remained unanswered, leaving her feeling vulnerable and confused.

Leah stood up and went to the shower.

As she entered, what she saw left her in a daze. Looking at the young, beautiful girl in the mirror, this is exactly how she looked five years ago. "What's going on?" Leah asked out loud, getting confused the more she thought of what was going on.

She felt a sharp splitting headache as she tried to remember what exactly happened.

"Wait, I look younger," Leah suddenly said as she massaged her face. This was the past of her she once loved, but it was ruined by the betrayal.

"Could this be what I am thinking? I find myself back in my room, and my body looks younger. Even though I have watched and read too many reincarnation novels, I clearly remember I died. Did I reincarnate?" Leah asked herself.

The buzzing sound of her phone caused by a notification caught her attention. She picked up her phone to check the date, and truly, the date said May 17, 2018.

"What?" Leah said in shock, almost dropping the phone.

Then realisation hit her. She had been granted a second chance at life.

"I reincarnated into my younger self."

In the future, Leah, the eldest daughter of the Wilson family, was betrayed by her fiancé, whom she loved with all her heart, and stupidly, she gave all her shares of the Wilson company to him.

In the end, he dumped her for her younger step-sister.

Remembering the painful memories, anger swells in her heart, "I promise to get revenge on them. My rebirth is for vengeance," Leah vowed to get her revenge on them.

"With my memories, Kelvin and I are still engaged. I will not let the pain of my last life go in vain. With this new chance to live, I will not be the same little timid girl again," Leah said with a firm and sharp gaze.

She recalled the mistakes of her previous life, vowing not to repeat them. Her goal was clear: to regain control of the Wilson family business, expose the betrayal of her ex-fiancé Kelvin Parkers, and confront her step-sister head-on.

With a newfound sense of purpose and the advantage of knowing what lay ahead, Leah is at an advantage.

The door was soon opened, and Leah, who was diligently planning her next move on having her revenge, saw a familiar face unexpectedly at her doorstep. It was Kelvin, her former fiancé and the source of much of her past pain.

With a composed demeanour, Leah greeted him, concealing the turmoil of emotions that stirred within her. Kelvin's presence was a reminder of her past betrayal, and she had anticipated this moment.

"Leah," Kelvin began, his voice tinged with a hint of hesitation, "I have brought some documents for you to sign. It's regarding your shares in the Wilson company."

Leah's eyes narrowed as she took the documents from him, her fingers tracing over the pages. She had expected this move; after all, her knowledge from her previous life told her that he would attempt to take control of her shares.

She read through the files. Her attention caught a line, 'Once signed by the two parties, The shares of Party A will be directly transferred to party B.'

Cautious of her emotions which felt like they would break loose at any moment, Leah maintained a composed facade as she received the documents from Kelvin. She knew the significance of this moment and wanted to play her cards carefully.

Taking a moment to review the documents, she appeared contemplative, as though carefully considering his proposal. The room was filled with an uneasy silence as she examined the papers, her eyes scanning the fine print.

After what felt like an eternity, she looked up at Kelvin with a measured expression. "Kelvin" she began.

"I appreciate your offer, but this is a major decision. I'll need some time to think it over and consult with my legal advisors."

A frown settled on Kelvin's face, couldn't hide his impatience, but he nodded in agreement. "Of course, Leah. Take your time, but please understand that the sooner this matter is settled, the better it will be for both of us."

Leah maintained her cool composure, not revealing her true intentions just yet. She knew that this encounter was just the tip of the iceberg, and she was determined to uncover his schemes and exact her revenge on her terms.

"I just want you to know that I am doing this for the both of us, as you see. If the Wilson and Parker company merge, it will be a great deal for me, and I know you will be happy about my success," Kelvin said with a satisfied expression.

Hearing his words, Leah felt a surge of disgust; he didn't even bother to hide his ambition. "How did I fall for him in the past?" Leah asked herself, still concealing her emotion with a polite smile.

Seeing that she was not responding as he expected, Kelvin continued, growing more confident in his approach. "Leah I understand this may be overwhelming for you, but it's a tremendous opportunity. Think about our future together, how we can achieve something even greater."

Leah's anger continued to boil, but her resolve remained unshaken. She knew better than to trust Kelvin again, especially after the betrayal of her past life.

Maintaining her polite smile, she replied, "I'll consider it carefully, Kelvin and get back to you. But I need to be certain that this is in the best interest of the Wilson family and me. I won't rush into any decisions."

Kelvin seemed satisfied with her response, believing that he was making progress. Little did he know that Leah had a plan of her own, one that would turn the tables and ensure her victory in this high-stakes game.

As Kelvin left, Leah knew that the battle for control of the Wilson company had officially begun. She was ready to play her cards strategically, using her knowledge of the past to outmanoeuvre her foes and secure her revenge.

"With my memories, I know that my father is still alive. I have to pay him a visit to the hospital," Leah thought inwardly.

Her father was her only source of comfort; it was a shame that he had only two more years to live. Now, Leah decided to spend his last two years with him.

She is legally the next in line for the Wilson Company, owning most of the shares which she inherited from her father the founder.

As she got up, she went to the shower, where she bathed and changed into a new dress. She made a few calls.

"It's time to take over the Wang Company," Leah, dressed in a white shirt and a black suit, applied some makeup and let her hair fall over her shoulder. Her beauty which can captivate the heart of any man was fully displayed, She entered a black Ferrari waiting for her.
