The next day, he was in a large lecture hall. The halls themselves all had a similar design, that being there was a large central stage at the front of the room, and the rest of the desks curve around it allowing everyone a clear view at the stage, as well as the that each row back they are at an increased height, so that if you sat at the very back there would not be many heads in your view, so that you could see the stage clearly.
This lecture in particular seemed to be incredibly filled up, with those of Dharen's class as well as those who wore different coloured clothes, some greens and deep blues could be seen sitting in groups. These Dharen had found out were those from different schools who would be attending this class as it was their chosen elective for the year.
They had been interested in him for a moment, but as soon as Renna had entered all of the eyes in the room had been on her. She was the top student in everything for their class and on top of that she was one of the Dragon-Kin who were rare enough outside of the plateau and then there were her looks.
Dharen could understand why she caught all of the attention, but still he could glimpse into her face that this annoyed her a lot, she did seem to be a person who enjoyed a lot of attention it seemed like.
She then walked over to where Dharen was sitting next to Jason. The three of them caught far more attention than they normally should have, that was the case for Renna too, who as by sitting next to the two boys had earned her more gazes from the men and ladies who were in the room.
"Renna, why sit next to them? You should be at the front like you always are." The one who had stood up and spoke, was someone who if Dharen had remembered rightly, was called Percy. This Percy had nothing really going for him, other than his family's station in their home realm.
Renna though, seeing the grease stained face of the Percy just snorted in disgust before saying, "Just because I have sat there before does not mean I always will. I would much rather sit near people who have more than one brain cell."
Percy just tilted his head slightly. As his mind tried to keep up with all that had just been said, then finally his face began to morph intp anger the Professor walked in and dropped his book onto the singular desk that stood on the stage at the front of the room.
The loud bang, caused all eyes to snap to him and silence quickly descended over the room with everyone going silent. The Professor then was quiet for a few moments as he looked over each and every face in the room ensuring that he had all of their attention fully.
"Today, we are moving onto our next topic as you all should know. We are jumping multiple ages through time from the Chaos Age to the end of the Age of Blood, which the historians in the room will know that this gap will mean we won't be looking into the Age of Magic, or the Age of Faith. Now, who can tell me about this Age?"
As soon as he had finished asking his questions, many hands shot into the air, around Dharen, with Jason and Renna all wishing to answer a question.
"Hmm, go on Percy."
Percy, glanced back with a smug look before speaking. "The Age had many major conflicts break out. The earliest of these was the War of Twilight, in which the Twilight Elves rebelled against the High Elves who had enslaved them."
The Professor nodded his head and silenced him, before letting one of those in a blue uniform speak out, this boys name being Micheal. "Professor another major war, was the war under the mountains after the assassintion of the Dwarven High King by the Rat people, and the grey goblins."
The Professor again nodded his head, before asking a few others who each answered with correct answers varying from major to minor wars which had covered the age. Finally he pointed at Renna.
"Professor, at the end of this Age is when the crusades lead by a Dragon-Kin nicknamed the Crusader had begun and ended."
The Professor, smiling this time, nodded his head before dismissing the rest of the questions, clearly having gotten the answer that he wished from them all.
"So as some of you know now, this topic will focus on the military exploits of the Crusader, who would go on to establish the Second Imperium."
The rest of the class had sped by Dharen, who had after the rest of his classes had the lesson from Renna, in which he learned of the divisions in the plateau and the constant state of war the clans there were all in.
In his room, Dharen had found himself once more looking up at the ceiling, while Jason was busy reading through a textbook at his desk.
"Dharen, you know you really should not be wasting any time like that, you of all people should be studying a lot. The mid semester exams will be here soon and these are followed by finals quickly."
Looking over at the studious Jason, Dharen knew he should be studying but a part of him just could not bring himself to. All he had been finding out had completely flipped his past world view on its head and he just did not know what he should do anymore.
What was it that he should do?
"Dharen study!" Jason's annoyed grumbling yell, soon forced him to move as Dharen mumbled, "Fine." Quickly pulling out a textbook on organisation and studying away.
This lasted for a few hours, with the two of them asking each other questions at times, to further their own understanding and more in Jason's case to ensure that Dharen was actually studying.
The two had formed a bond since Dharen had arrived and Jason did not want his new friend to be expelled simply because he could not bring himself to study.
