Chapter 12 - Chapter 10: Undercurrents

As Daniel Park was nearing his home, his two bodies moved in synchrony, each step reflecting his newfound confidence and determination. The sparring session had left him energized and eager to tackle the challenges ahead. However, unknown to him, powerful forces were at play elsewhere in the city.

High above the bustling streets of Seoul, on the top floor of a towering skyscraper, stood a figure-He is a tall middle-aged man with a dark aura and squinted eyes that make him seem cynical. He has a mauve hue to his stylized haircut and has a full white designer stubble beard that surrounds his lips and cover his cheekbones. He wears expensive clothes that show his wealth and he is Charles Choi. A man of immense influence and wealth, Charles was known for his keen intellect and ruthless business acumen. He was a formidable figure in the world of corporate power, with connections that spanned the globe. With his piercing gaze, he looked out over the city, his mind occupied with plans and strategies.

Charles Choi ( Choi Dong Soo) , also known as Elite, is a major character in Lookism. He is Crystal's father and the CEO of HNH Group, a conglomerate company that own many smaller businesses. He is one of the few people that know about Daniel and Crystal's secret.

Charles Choi was not just any businessman; he was a kingmaker, the man behind the scenes who pulled the strings of many influential figures. His left arm is not there and no one knows how he lost it , was a testament to the battles he had fought and won. He lifted his phone with his remaining hand and dialed a number, waiting for the familiar voice of his daughter, Crystal Choi.

"Crystal," he began when she answered. "How are you handling the preparations? Everything needs to be perfect."

"I'm managing, Father," Crystal replied, her tone steady and confident. "The teams are in place, and the operations are running smoothly. I've taken care of the details you mentioned."

"Good," Charles responded, a rare smile touching his lips. "Remember, this business venture is crucial. Like DG and the others, you have your own responsibilities now. It's time for you to step into the role I've prepared for you."

As their conversation ended, Charles reflected on a recent development that had caught his eye. He opened a social media post on his phone, featuring a handsome young man with an aura of confidence and reliability. The boy's smile was infectious, and his eyes shone with a light that was hard to ignore.

"Daniel Park," Charles murmured to himself. "A perfect body indeed."

He had done his research and knew that Daniel's transformation was extraordinary. The young man had changed drastically from his previous self, and Charles recognized the power of the perfect body—a power he was intimately familiar with. His daughter, Crystal, had experienced a similar transformation, becoming a key player in his plans.

Charles dismissed his unease, attributing Daniel's transformation to the unique charm of the perfect body. He had seen the potential it brought and was confident it could only benefit his objectives.

In another part of the city, Jake Kim-Jake Kim (Kim Gimyeong) is the leader of the West River Gang, Big Deal. He is handsome, with a tall slender figure. his eyebrows always look raised, and a calm expression. His hair is black and his eyes are a deep brown.he has the typical hair length of a Korean male, that is slicked to the side of his forehead.he was grappling with his own set of challenges. For Jake, life was a constant battle to uphold the legacy of his father, Gapryong Kim, a legend who had united all of South Korea under Gapryong's Fist. Now, Jake was determined to protect Big Deal Street and bring back Sinu Han, the previous leader who had sacrificed himself to buy Jake time.

During his middle school years he is laid back and doesn't care about being the leader of the school. Ironically, like his father he is someone who will not tolerate injustices and unfairness demonstrated when he fought the third years for "ganging up" on Brad and Jason when they were in middle school and fighting Samuel Seo to help the vendors of the street Big Deal is protecting

To his allies, Jake is a caring leader. He fought hard to maintain Big Deal's independence, and they care about him deeply, making them one of the most loyal crews. He values people who are honest and fair, and does not like people who fight dirty.

During the series Jake noted himself that he began to sound like Sinu Han, the previous leader of Big Deal who showed Jake the value of "romance" and passion, and ideals which the latter follow. These all gives him reason to not let his crew members or big deal street suffer from anything and as crew head he must ensure that if the wind or rain comes they must paas though him first. While thinking all this Jake entered a dimly lit building, the air thick with the smell of cigarettes and alcohol. He approached his so-called uncle, a former member of his father's gang, who now ran an illegal betting racket. Despite the man's unsavory demeanor, Jake needed his help to generate the funds required to save Big Deal.

With a heavy heart, Jake bowed deeply, his forehead almost touching the ground. "I need your help," he said, swallowing his pride. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Big Deal Street."

His uncle sneered, enjoying the sight of Jake's humility. "You've got guts, kid. Let's see if you can back it up."

Jake endured the man's taunts and condescension, knowing that this humiliation was a small price to pay for the greater good. He greeted others in the building, then left for a simple lunch, his mind occupied with thoughts of Sinu Han and the responsibilities he bore. Despite the illegal racket bringing in significant money, Jake saved every penny, prioritizing the future of Big Deal over his own needs.

Meanwhile, Zack Lee opened his eyes, disoriented and furious. He scanned his surroundings, searching for the boy who had knocked him out. "Where is that fatty bastard?!" he thought, his mind racing.

Seeing the state of Doo Lee and Kang, Zack's anger grew. "I got knocked out by that fatty...," he muttered, feeling a wave of doubt wash over him. For a moment, he questioned his own strength. "Am I that weak?"

But then he remembered the boy's unexpected prowess. "No, that fatty was the monstrous one," Zack concluded. The experience had shaken him, forcing him to reevaluate his actions and the way he treated others.

He thought about the boys he had bullied, imagining how they must have felt—helpless and humiliated. Realizing that he was no different from the bullies he despised, Zack felt a pang of guilt. "I need to make things right," he resolved, standing up with a newfound determination

Without turning to face his sidekicks, Zack addressed them. "Starting this moment, don't you dare bully anyone. If you do, I'll beat you so badly you'll beg for mercy."

His conviction was palpable, and his sidekicks nodded in agreement, sensing the sincerity in his words. Zack left the scene, heading home to practice his boxing and reflect on the day's events.

"The day was sick," he thought, punching the air with renewed vigor. "Let's hope things get better tomorrow. I need to make it up to Mira... she's probably furious with me."

With that, Zack went to bed, his mind swirling with thoughts of redemption.

In the vast web of connections and power plays, Daniel, Charles, Jake, and Zack each navigated their own challenges, unaware of how their paths might intersect since danial is hell bent on protecting and providing the weak the environment to grow and for that he must ensure he is strong enough and he also needs strongest of strongest people around him with same mentality in order to make this simple and small ripple spread far and wide.
