Chapter 161 - Sharing the News

The next morning, Aiko and Ryo woke up feeling the weight of their exciting secret. They had agreed to tell their families first before anyone else. The idea of sharing their joy made them both nervous and thrilled.

Aiko called her parents first. As the phone rang, she glanced at Ryo, who gave her an encouraging nod. "Hi, Mom! Can we come over? We have some news to share," Aiko said, trying to keep her voice steady.

Her mother's curiosity was immediately piqued. "Of course, dear. Come over anytime."

Ryo called his parents next, arranging to meet them later that afternoon. With both meetings set, they got ready and headed to Aiko's parents' house.

When they arrived, Aiko's parents greeted them warmly. They settled into the living room, exchanging pleasantries before Aiko cleared her throat to speak.

"Mom, Dad, we have some wonderful news," Aiko began, her voice trembling slightly. "We're going to have a baby!"

There was a brief moment of silence before Aiko's mother let out a delighted gasp. "Oh, Aiko! This is wonderful news!" she exclaimed, rushing to hug her daughter.

Aiko's father, usually more reserved, had a wide smile on his face. "Congratulations, you two. This is truly a blessing."

Ryo grinned, feeling a wave of relief and happiness wash over him. "Thank you. We're really excited."

They spent the next hour discussing the baby, sharing their hopes and dreams, and receiving invaluable advice from Aiko's parents. The atmosphere was filled with love and excitement.

In the afternoon, they headed to Ryo's parents' house. Ryo's mother opened the door, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Come in, come in! What's the big news?"

They gathered in the cozy living room, and Ryo took a deep breath. "Mom, Dad, we have some incredible news. Aiko is pregnant! We're going to have a baby."

Ryo's mother burst into happy tears, pulling them both into a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you both! This is the best news ever!"

Ryo's father, beaming with pride, clapped his son on the back. "Well done, Ryo. Congratulations to both of you. We can't wait to meet our grandchild."

The joy in the room was palpable as they shared their plans and dreams for the future. Ryo's mother insisted on starting to knit baby clothes right away, and Ryo's father began talking about all the things he would teach his grandchild.

Later that evening, Aiko and Ryo returned home, feeling overwhelmed with happiness. They collapsed on the couch, holding hands and basking in the afterglow of the day's events.

"That went better than I could have imagined," Aiko said, leaning her head on Ryo's shoulder.

"Yeah, it really did," Ryo agreed, wrapping his arm around her. "Our families are so happy for us. It's going to be amazing having their support."

Aiko nodded, feeling a sense of peace and contentment. "I can't wait to see what the future holds for us and our little one."

Ryo kissed her forehead gently. "Me neither, Aiko. Me neither."

As they sat together, they began to plan how they would share the news with their friends. The journey ahead was full of unknowns, but with each other's love and support, they felt ready to face anything. The excitement of starting their family had brought them even closer, and they knew that their love would only grow stronger with every passing day.
