Christian is gone for a little while when I suddenly see Lana walk in front of the breakroom with Laurel. I guess she was watching the news closely, ready to follow through with what I told her to do. They both walk with a determined pace, Lana's hand protectively on Laurel's shoulder, and I can see the slight tremble in Laurel's steps. She's nervous, but she trusts me.
Lana's eyes widen in shock when she sees me sitting there, calmly sipping my coffee as if I belong. I wink at her, holding my finger over my lips in the universal shhhh sign, while using my other hand to gesture to my visitor's badge clipped to my jacket. Her expression quickly masks her surprise, a testament to her professionalism, but I can see the questions forming in her mind. Laurel grins at me, giving a small wave. I get a little worried when I see Hadley suddenly approach them, looking in at me.
