Fuming in anger at the realization that Wizard Kavest had me under a spell, making me unable to see him I still did not let my emotions be seen.
At the same time, the treasurous Wizard replied to me, "I oblige to that will, your Majesty. That is the necessary thing now."
Necessary...
Without waiting for me to respond, Mar Hast the knight stood up from his position and said, "You have heard his Majesty. Our gathering ends here."
I added, "I will see all of you again."
At that, the spirits and monsters raised up one by one and proceeded and slowly left the place. Even Hahu left, but Mar Hast was there, standing. Perhaps waiting for a commandment from me.
Interesting, he already thinks that I consider him to be more important to me than other spirits. Well, that's not wrong though. And while being around this suspicious wizard, I did rather have a guard than not.
The ground in front of my 'palace' or my lair got lonely once again. The forest returned to dead silence once again. And only then did I move, to enter my lair without saying anything.
Perhaps Wizard Kavest was following me behind. But I had no idea. Mar Hast did not need to be told anything, he simply stood with his giant figure as if he had taken the duty to be my guard voluntarily.
Just as I entered the lair, that wizard sounded, "Alas, your Majesty!"
"What happened?" I asked.
"This place does not befit you. If you just desire, we can build you a palace here. We can even build a greater palace out of your Mother Tree."
"I don't feel the need of a greater palace. You are free to clean the vines though." I replied with little consideration.
"As you wish, your Majesty."
I originally wanted to immediately ask Wizard Kavest as for why did he enact a spell on me, why can not I see him? But he acted so casually, as though he had no idea.
I understood that the late I am, the more awkward it will get to ask him, yet I waited for some time.
Then I heard sound of wind blowing. I had no idea of the origin behind it. I did not feel much wind but there was even the sound of a storm right by my side, somewhere.
No doubt, it was the work of Wizard Kavest. As I watched, a piece of blurry tornado, which I acknowledged as the wind simply gushed over a piece of vine uprooting it and blending it equivalently to the floor.
But the energy of the tornado did not reduce a bit. It went on and 'cleaned' more and more vines. However, my lair was massive. Even if he cleared like that, it would take half an hour or so.
However, he exceeded my expectations.
The blurry tornado got bigger as it cleaned one vine after another. After around ten sets of it, the tornado was double the size it was before and I was rather assures that it would not make more than five minutes then.
I waited, without saying anything. Wondering where was I supposed to sit then. My legs were starting to hurt.
As minutes went on, one by another, and only a portion of the vines were left, Kavest asked, "Majesty, should I make you a temporary throne with these vines?"
That was a fine suggestion, I felt. "Sure."
With another hurl of wind, I was amazed to see the vines seperating from each other and progressively coming into a particular shape.
I acknowledged Kavest to be a fine wizard as I noticed scenario. However that would not excuse him from my wrath of questioning why put a spell on me.
Soon enough, there was a throne, made entirely out of vines. It was beautifully designed, I would not lie. It was better than what I expected thrones to be like when old man told me how thrones look like.
...Wait.
"Kavest! Wasn't here a human corpse?"
"I buried him, your Majesty. Otherwise he might have turned into a spirit."
"What's the problem?" there was extreme seriousness in the tone of my voice.
"Your Majesty, humans are weak and feable. They can not control themselves once they become a spirit. They go rampage and do not discriminate between friends and foe. All the spirits you see, are extremely lucky here, to have retained their sanity." Wizard Kavest explained calmly.
"Is that so..." I could not help but frown. "Where did you bury him?"
"Right in front of your 'egg'."
He knew about my egg. Ah, he must have known that old man used to come and visit me everyday as well. That is why he knew I care about that person and dared to bury him behind my throne, and in front of my egg.
Dissatisfied to some extents, I turned my look to the throne which was just made for me.
Wizard Kavest had cleaned the entire lair of mine. The ground was hard soil and there was hardly any traces left of the vines which were removed. He made me this throne from the part which had the densest amount of vines.
The throne had a long seat, and tens of me could sit there. Perhaps it's my failt that I am so small. I mean, if he made the throne for the size of an apple, I do not think that would be as majestic as the one in front of me.
It bore two pillars to its side and had rather intricate designs. I was in awe thinking how could Kavest make such a beautiful thing in just a matter of minutes.
It seemed Mar Hast the knight made no mistake when calling Kavest the wisest in Astagha forest.
However the throne had a significant flaw.
It's seat was in a higher place than me myself.
This wicked magician was still mocking me. Such a cunning person. He was trying to make me ask for help to lift me up to that throne. He really is, treacherous.
