Chapter 7 - Beginning of the Story

The invisible Wizard Kavest showed the courage to stay invisible and asked in a much gentle tone, "Shall I move you to the throne, your Majesty?"

"Lower the seat." I decided not to fume immediately.

Kavest did not say anything and simply, mysteriously manipulated the same bit of storm from before and lowered the seat a little. He then built a form of stairs that I would have to walk upon to reach the throne.

I said no more, and moved my legs to find my back resting on it.

It was a good throne. Indeed. But this Kavest is not. He was definitely plotting something, and I was sure of it. The fact that I can not see him is the prime evidence. However, I am not jumping on a conclusion that he is planning to backstab me because of certain things.

It was evident from the gathering that they, the other spirits or monsters could see the Wizard just fine, unlike me. And that the Wizard was deemed to be crazy powerful. According to Mar Hast, he is the second strongest in the forest, after the Arcane of the Sun's Shadow or something.

I required a more obvious proof before I could sue him.

Sitting on the throne, I looked at the lair in a rather new point of view. The lair was still dark, but it was very clean. There was almost no vines and the ground looked flat. I was sitting on a royal throne although the handles of the throne are too far away for me to catch.

From my seat, the farthest object was no wonder the entrance to this lair. The space in between me and the entrance was practically a void. Behind me, there was my Egg and the old man's grave, supposedly.

It finally felt like I was a King.

"Thank you." said I, neglecting his suspicious attitude for a while.

"It's nothing, your Majesty."

"Can we start talking about the things now?"

"Yes, your Majesty. I have given Mar Hast a role to stand there as the guard for your lair. Is that to your convenience?"

Oh, so it was Kavest's job.

"Yes." I replied, keeping my emotions strict. "What is the history, past and present of this forest?"

"Ah, Majesty. This will take a while."

I stayed quiet at his another unsatisfying response as though I said I don't really care, Kavest.

"I will be in that case, telling you the story from the beginning."

"Go on." my apple-back leaned in a little forward revealing the fact that I was extremely curious indeed. Even though I had no idea where my story-teller is. Perhaps behind me, or right in front of me.
