Chapter 2 - The Sand And The Wind

I felt cold as the water drenched me, I was tired. I stood in a field of corpses but I was glad that a single child was left. I saw it stumble as it walked and I felt relived. Its hollow eyes only made my relief that more distinct.

The wind howled as the ice case cracked. It then shattered to pieces as she was set free. Her once brown eyes had a green glow about them. When she looked around, she noticed the unconscious Kano being squeezed by the golem hand as it prepared to bash him into the ground once more. It was aiming to crash whatever life he had left.

As soon as she exhaled, she raised her arm and opened her palm. A massive gust of wind was released which broke the sand. The fingers crumbled as they dropped him. As they are simple constructs of physical magic, spiritual magic should be enough to distort them. He was falling to the ground when she caught him before landing herself.

He looks really beat up…..he must have tried fighting back. She thought as she placed him gently on the ground. That must have been why he trapped me in there earlier. Even though I was surrounded by ice, I was still warm. It suddenly weakened and began crackingThat just means, he knew that this would happen before hand.

The golden bracelets around her wrists began releasing a green aura as she walked away from him. So the black aura must have been malice detection, never seen anyone who can do that before. The aura that coated the bracelets became thicker as they cracked. They then  broke to pieces. About twenty pieces formed from the two bracelets. You don't have to worry, I will protect you too. Then I will take you to receive some help. She thought.

The wind around her began blowing violently as the tiny pieces transformed to blades. Each blade had one sharp edge and looked as though they belonged to the circumference of a circle. It was as though they were magic projections of the pieces of the bracelets. They carried the shape and were only enlarged and sharpened.

Let's see…..element type; Earth….he has some pretty powerful spiritual vibrations…..he has formed a condensed field so that his attacks can spawn from seemingly out of nowhere.  I think that should be all the important details.  I will cross my field with his. Wind art: Remnant chaos.

Her blades spread around the battle field as she dashed towards him. Sand gathered besid her as it formed a  hand which was cut down by her blades. As she was running,  she was forced to dodge as she sensed magic gather, form a bullet and fire it towards her. There was no way to ignore the fact that his magic control was a speck of genius.  But it mattered not to her, she continued running towards him regardless.

Hands repeatedly formed from the sand as they all attempted to either grab or crash her. She was able to avoid them all. She rolled, jumped at times and even went as far as to direct her blades to cut them down. However, more only formed.

Another hand formed as it attempted to grab her. She jumped to avoid it and landed on its index finger. She then released a gust of wind which not only destroyed part of the hand but also propelled her towards the man.

A giant hand formed from the sand to shield him from whatever she had in mind. She landed on the it as she used it as a foothold. Her blades moved vigorously over the battlefield as she jumped and stepped on the one to her left. The blade released a lot of wind to direct her to her right.

She flew through the air as she stepped on the second one. It propelled herself past his defenses.  She stepped on the one behind him as she jumped going for an ax kick. The sand rose as a giant hand formed before grabbing her.

There is no way on earth that I will be trapped by you. She thought as she felt it squeeze her tightly. She began grinding her teeth as she could no longer breath. It was trying to crush her ribs. Three of her blades turned to bracelet pieces as they penetrated the hand. They produced massive gusts of wind that destroyed the hand, freeing her.

As soon as she landed, she dashed towards him. She could see the sand rising but she honestly didn't care. She was hell bent on breaking past his defenses. As the sand was coming together, two of her blades moved between them and released a gust of wind forcing them to scatter. The formation was completely disturbed. I got you, she thought as she went for a right hook and proceeded to a left, she then went for a crescent kick.

He could feel her hands shiver from the impact and so did her leg. Damn it….his body is being shielded by sand...she thought,  no matter. Five of her blades attached themselves to him as they released massive gust of wind. This dispelled the sand allowing her to land her first clean hit. A well educated right hook which made him shriek from the sheer impact.

She jumped going for an ax kick but he was able to avoid it. As soon as she landed, she went for a spinning back fist. He ducked to avoid it before jumping back. One of her blades blasted him with wind. It was behind him. Three other blades also bombarded him with gusts of wind immediately after the first one.

He felt his breathing get distorted as the sudden change in wind pressure made it hard for him to breathe. As she was dashing,  she thought, wait, sand….The sand gathered as she felt the hand take hold of her as it formed. I let my guard down….I assumed that it rose because of my wind.

The arm which was attached to the hand lengthened as though it came from the earth itself. The rest of the body continued to materialize until it was complete.  It was a headless golem. It had massive four humanoid arms and six pedipalp legs with an upper body like that of a human. It also had a giant hole through its torso.

The place where the head was supposed to be, that was his foothold. She felt it tighten its grip as it became increasingly hard to breathe. Ten of her blades blasted the hand with wind forcing it to release her. She then took that moment to propel herself to the ground. Looks like …he thinks of me as more of a threat now. I have to try to knock him out quickly otherwise I might just pay for it.

She turned to look at Kano as she thought, Sand entered his body when he fought earlier. The foreign magic is poisonous to the nodes. I can't really determine how severe his case is and I am also wearing myself out. She was hyperventilating as she touched her ribs.

As she was thinking,  the golem went for a punch attempting to crush her when she jumped. She got on top of it and continued running up the arm. The golem is made of fine grains of sand held together by magic. Its exactly like the hand that kept forming before which just means it can regenerate.

On the arm, sand gathered and formed hands. They had bats and were attempting to strike her. He is trying to keep me away from him. She thought as she was forced to block the bat. The sand clashing against her forearms gave her pain as she felt as though they would break from the impact.

The sheer number overwhelmed her as she tried to stay a step ahead.  While she was dodging,  she noticed that the golem's other hand was moving towards her attempting to crush her while she was distracted by the small ones.

No choice...Wind art: Rampaging blades; Remnant chaos, she thought as she closed her eyes. She achieved a higher plane vision. It was perfect 360° vision.  She was able to see all that was around her in green and black outline. The background was black and everything appeared green. There was no blind spots in her field.

This technique places a heavy strain on my mind as it forces me to rapidly process my thoughts while maintaining a constant flow of magic covering a certain field  whose range is determined by my blades. I can see all and know all that occurs so long as it is from the living.

That's the middle ground between my wind attribute and my sensory ability.  The perfect vision. She waited for the last possible second to make her move. She jumped right before it hit her so as to allow it to strike itself.  I will relax Remnant chaos and focus on a different attack. Wind art: Rampaging blades; spiraling zephyr, concrete target.

All her blades gathered and formed two masses of rotating circles,  each consisting of ten blades. They barreled their way into the arms cutting them clean off. Thanks to the earlier impact, there were enough cracks to exploit.

As the arms were falling, they crumbled forming sand which flew upwards. It should be going down but since it is going up, I will assume he is gathering magic in the sk….she thought before she was forced to dodge a sand bullet.

Remnant chaos. When she turned to face him, she was suddenly shot by two sand bullets. He lessened the distance they form from me. It does lessen there power as they can't accelerate as much but it makes them hard to dodge. She felt as though it was hard to breathe. When she looked up, she was met by three more bullets. He is planning to knock me out by bombarding me with attacks. Anemone's pain sensitivity to pain was alot higher than that of a normal person.

She propelled herself from the golem before the third arm attempted to grab her.  She flipped through as she landed on its fingers. When she landed, she felt as though she had tweaked her ankle. She quenched her teeth as she propelled herself towards him.

She landed on its bicep. As soon as she did, she was shot by a series of sand bullets. She called in five of her blades for defense.  When she did, she desperately tried to maintain her Remnant chaos with only fifteen blades which generated a few blind spots in her vision. She was only able to observe seventy five percent  of the things around her. There were a few blind spots in her field of vision.

She was able to block but was completely helpless to the bullets that spawned from her blind spots. The more she took, the further she drifted into the land of failed consciousness. She began releasing a green aura as she projected wind towards the man.

Sand formed in front of him as it shielded him. Her body felt stiff as she was having trouble breathing.  Her energy was running thin from her constant use. As she was thinking,  something weighed heavily on her mind. Why wasn't the golem trying to attack her even though she was standing right on it's arm.

She received a few more bullets which she deflected using her wind. This significantly disturbed their course. For the first time in while, the golem finally made a move. It began raising its arms which forced her to jump off as she had no idea what it was up to. She stepped on her blades.

It took hold of the giant hammer that had formed in the sky. It was planning to crush her. She attempted to propel herself backwards when she was met by a series of  sand bullets which forced her forward. She felt the pain corrode her as she felt as though she would pass out at any moment.

I will use whatever I have left, she thought as the blades formed two masses. Wind art: Rampaging blades; spiraling zephyr, concrete target. The blades barreled through the hammer as they sliced it in half while simultaneously pushing the halves apart. This pushed her further into a state of failed consciousness. She was able to thwart the incoming attack but at what cost.

The hammer kept descending but at the very least she was safe from the impact. That's not fair....she was falling,  she was hit by the hammer's handle which lengthened as the dust fragments from the crumbling hammer halves came together to lengthen it. This projected her down violently.

As she was falling, her blades flew towards her as they attempted to cushion her fall. She was shot by a series of sand bullets which only intensified the pain she felt. She fell to ground as her blades transformed back to bracelet pieces and returned to her.

She was coughing as she could barely catch her breath. Her eyes changed back to brown. She looked to the sky once more.  Her vision blurred as blood washed down her face. Though she could barely see, she saw the sand gathering to complete the hammer. It held it up preparing to finish her off.
