I awoke once more to a searing pain in my body. My eyes struggled to adjust to the darkness as I tried to make out the figure looming over me. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I am someone who can help you," the mysterious figure replied in a voice that sent chills down my spine. "I can give you the power to exact your revenge and heal your wounds."
"What do you want in return?" I asked suspiciously. "It's not that easy, is it?"
The figure chuckled in response. "Oh my, my, it's never easy. But your soul is all I ask for. You will no longer be an angel. You will be something far more different, but also far more dangerous."
"What exactly do you mean by that?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease growing within me. "Will I be a fallen angel?'
"You will not be a fallen angel," the figure replied. "You will have power, but it will come at a great cost. You will be forced to do my bidding, and you will have to serve me in the coming wars."
"How often will I have to serve you?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.
"I Only have the power to order you around when the gods go to war," the figure replied. "Which, admittedly, is not very often. But when they do, you will be called upon to fight for me."
"I don't know..." I hesitated, feeling the weight of the decision bearing down on me.
The figure leaned in closer, and I could feel its breath on my face. "Do you not want revenge for what has been done to you?" it whispered. "Do you not want to be healed?"
I closed my eyes, feeling the temptation pulling at me. "Fine," I said my voice barely above a whisper. "I'll make the deal. But I need to know your name."
The figure leaned back, and a grin spread across its face. "My name is M!(#^$^&*.," it said. "All that matters is the deal we've made."
And with that, everything went black once again, and I fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. How many times will I fall asleep in this place??
When I woke up I was still in the same place, but the pain was gone. Where do I go now? I knew that the first thing I needed to do was find a place safer than here. I started walking. As I walked on for what felt like hundreds of kilometers the heat started to catch up to me. It's so hot here. Well of course it's so hot, this place is the cataclysm. On the horizon, there was a place that resembled a jungle. Maybe I can take a rest in there. I wonder if anything lives in there. As I walked forward I saw a river. Is it positioned, or safe to drink? I didn't have anything to check the water so I took a sip. Ah… This wo'er is so refreshing. I sat down and looked at the sky, you could see the clouds from the vortex above the sky. The sky was starless. Back in the first dimension the sky was filled with stars, there were no clouds and there was no darkness, the sky would always be colorful. I sat down happy with the water I had found, then it struck me. If there is drinkable wo'er then there should be some edible plants. I quickly got up and started looking for some plants, even leaves would do. I had no luck for a while. What am I thinking? This is the second dimension, nothing can survive here.
Just as I was about to give up hope, I found a log. I can lie down here, for now, this log tickles. Wait a minute…. BUGS!!! I started grabbing the bugs. I wonder if I can make budda jam. I began to smash the bugs into a type of gloop. This looks so disgusting….I wish I had a Sunday roast right now. Here goes nothing. I closed my eyes as I drank the liquid. I immediately coughed after swallowing the gloop. This is worse than dirt, I guess I have to deal with it for now. I have to survive… I have to eat the gloop. The gloop progressively started getting worse as I drank more and more. I wanted to vomit but I knew I couldn't. There were a few more bugs that were alive once I had finished drinking the gloop. I think they were all so scared that they ran away. I checked my surroundings and then slept. This isn't so bad….is it?
The next morning there were no more bugs, that was the only log I had used so I decided to look for more. While walking around I decided to make a jug for the gloop and water. These leaves, twigs, and cement will be good. I can make the water jug bigger than the gloop jar so that I won't die so fast. I crafted the jugs until they were ready. I immediately tested the water jug, and it worked. Thank the gods, I can continue walking to who knows where. I began to look for bugs, the logs were all empty, filled with dirt but no bugs. I spent another twenty minutes searching for the bugs. I lied down out of exhaustion. How long until I find those bugs? They have to be here somewhere. I looked in front of me, and a log was finally covered with bugs. I quickly made all of it into Gloop and inserted it into the jug for Gloop. It stinks so much, the smell is very pungent. The green gloopy look is still retained after putting the gloop inside the jug.
An hour later I felt that little jungle, that jungle was like an oasis in a deserted wasteland. This was the cataclysm, after all, it would be expected of it to be like how it is. The sun continued to entrounce me with its heat. It was so hot, that I had wished that I had a block of ice to cool down with. The heat waves were also appearing everywhere. Everything looked the same, barren and desolated. I remember that there was supposed to be a mountain near the entrance of the vortex, Jack Simmons. Wow… The mountain looks a lot taller than I anticipated. Of all the past landmarks of the second dimension, this was the only one that remained. The name was found in a book taken from the second dimension before the vortex was created. I have always wondered, why was it even nammed Jack Simmons. It's such a dumb name, the person must have had an ego to have a mountain nammed after them. Then again, they must have also been strong enough to climb it….I think. Whatever, I need to focus on getting out. I have had luck so far but I can't rely on luck forever, things can't get too bad from now on….right?
I had been walking for a few days now, the heat was still intense. The sky was still red and the pungent smell lingered in the air. I had gotten too used to it now, the smell was all too similar. I need to rest, I can't go on forever. It's been days, and I am already out of water and gloop but I don't feel hungry or thirsty. I should be dead already. I started laughing out loud HAhahahahHAhahaHAHAha. I shouldn't be alive right now. I should be rotting away. Will I even get out of here? Am I going to live in a wasteland of a dump? Can life even live here? I took a deep breath. I need to calm down, I should continue walking. I tried to stand up but I collapsed back down. Maybe I can fly. I tried to open my wings but nothing happened. I could feel my wings, there were tiny wings but the wings were already spread, and they were small. I can't fly, these are not my wings. My wings are gone. They are gone and I can never get them back. I curled up into a ball, I was really going to be stuck here, could I even die? I'll just wait it out until my feet can move again. Till I can walk my way out of here if there was any exist. There has to be an exit out of this dump.
The clothes I was wearing were slowly turning into old rags. I still had the pockets. Maybe I can do some reading while walking. Let's see… I'll read my brother's spell book. I was on page…. Before I could switch to the page a gust of wind blew towards me, even though the wind was hot in this place. I Covered my eyes in fear that some dirt may get into it. When the wind stopped the page had been turned to a black page. I don't recall any blank pages here. Maybe it's a page from one of the locked pages. Did he write any secret messages? I reached into my pocket and pulled out the pen to read these messages. There's nothing there… weird. As I walked along the wasteland of a dump I kept on reading. There were spells that I had never dared to try waiting for me to cast. Ooh… This looks interesting, 'Word of radiance' that seems interesting. It says here I need to find an opponent or creature. I looked around and saw a Unicorn??? What's a unicorn doing here? Whatever I can try to use Word of Radiance on it. I read the instructions and used the spell, the unicorn started burning until there was nothing but ashes left. WHAT!!!! How did that even happen?? I read the description and it said in an asterisk with the smallest print 'will turn your enemies into ash unless they have spell/ fire resistance' Who writes a warning in the smallest print ever, I had to squint to see that one. Are there any necromancing spells? I went through my brother's spell book and found one. This one is called 'Necromance the Dead' I think that's quite literal. It needs, the flesh and blood of the dead thing. I looked at the pile of ashes. Oh well. Too bad. I walked away from that pile of ashes in disappointment. I could of had a steed to ride, then my legs wouldn't hurt so much. As I kept walking I suddenly stopped where I was. There was a huge cliff. I looked down and there was a stream of lava. When I attempted to walk away I felt something grab my ankles and I was suddenly dragged down. I kept hitting my back on the rocks on the cliff while being dragged down to the bottom of the cliff. Ow... This is going to do a number on my back. When I reached the bottom I got up and drew out my sword. "Who dragged me down here?!" I yelled ready to attack the thing responsible.
