Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The next day was an assembly in the cafeteria for the upperclassmen. I looked around but I couldn't find Leo.  I hope he's ok, I'm sure he is. I walked around to the front of the crowd to see the emergency squad and the Dean. My blood ran cold WHAT HAPPENED NOW?!?! "Attention student," the dean, said, "There has been another attack on a student, to keep you safe we have created a new curfew." All the students groaned. I knew this meant that there was more than one student and that the student had to be high-ranking. There would be no other way for this to happen. "The student who was attacked will not be named in order to keep privacy. We also will have no spell-casting without adult supervision. That is all, now make sure that the lower classmen follow this as well. Good night." The dean left the stage and the emergency squad gave a long and boring presentation on how to be safe that we had heard many times before. I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible, but there was no way I could do that.

After the emergency committee was done talking I went back to my room. I was exhausted and wanted some peace and quiet. Maybe I'll see Leo during training tomorrow. He can't be hurt….right? I closed my eyes and imagined the past with me, Leo, and my brother. It was peaceful back then, but then like a hero, my brother went off to fight the vortex. I never saw him again, now Leo could be hurt and there's nothing I could do about it.

The next day Leo wasn't at training or in the shed. I had to train with another student but it wasn't the same. That student was a sore loser who lost on and on.

"AGAIN!" the other student yelled "I want a rematch now!"

"Ok," I responded "Is there any request your Highness wants?" I said in a sarcastic voice.

"Don't call me 'Your Highness'" she yelled. She was obviously ticked off by the question I asked. "But I do want you to fight without your attuned sword."

"Sure thing," I responded. I sheathed my attuned sword and grabbed a trainer sword from the rack of practice weapons. "Ready?"I asked.

"Yeah, I am going to beat you and make you admit I am better, more awesome, and at a better angle." I let her make the first move seeing as she was so confident. She attacked, jumping and aiming for my head. I went back and held onto my sword. It wasn't that I couldn't go behind her, it was that I felt a little bad seeing as she is older than me. "Running away, so soon. You scared?" She charged towards me and used magic to enhance her speed. I evaded the move and moved into an offensive position. She attacked again but this time I hit her sword and made her fall down.

"Do you surrender now?" I asked with my sword pointing at her throat. She nodded her head and I helped her up. We shook hands and I got my sword and headed to the shack. There was a part of me that thought that Leo would be in there with his usual smirk. There was no one there. Where is he….He shouldn't be gone for so long, he just became a Legon. There were no announcements of Legon being sent to the 2nd realm either. Just then someone came inside. I hid in the safe room. The safe room is just a wall with a compartment that fits 2 people and is measured as thin as a piece of wood. The room has a carpet, a lamp, two chairs, a table, and a hole that you could look into but no one could see you from. I saw that it was the girl I had spared with earlier. What did she want? She looked around for a good few minutes and then left.  How did she even find this place? Did she follow me? What did she want? I quickly hid all the important documents back into their safe spot inside the safe room. I'm glad that I had gotten those documents before she came in. I finished cleaning up and then left. I walked back to my room from an inconspicuous corridor. The girl came up to me. "Where were you?" She demanded. "I looked all over the grounds for you."

"I was in my dorm reading," I replied, "Why do you care?" I continued to walk down the corridor but she joined me. "What do you want?" I asked her.

"I want a rematch. If I win you will bow down, if you win there will be a rematch." She said.

"I'm not interested in a rematch, I am just going to have to keep on fighting you and you will never get better because you never take the time to learn the techniques to fight, you only charge straight ahead." I knew what I had said was harsh but I was fed up with the girl asking for a rematch non-stop. It was annoying to the point of me wanting to just cast a silence spell on her.

"You're just jealous because I'm taller than you." She yelled angrily. The tone of her voice was booming with rage.

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked. She stayed quiet and I took this as an opportunity to leave. I went to my room and read the books I had mentioned earlier. These books were like a portal to another realm, although it's not like those don't exist in this dimension.

The next few days were such a bore. I felt like all of this was so dodgy, why wasn't Leo here? I do hope he's alright. It just didn't feel right. I hear a knock on my door. I opened it to see one of the Dean's helpers. "The Dean would like to speak to you."

"Right now?" I asked.

"No, not right now but when you are willing and able to." The Dean's helper answered.

"Ok….Thanks for letting me know." I replied.

"I will be going now….goodbye."

"Goodbye to you as well.." I closed the door after the Dean's help had walked away. What does the dean want now? Could it be about Leo? I will go in a few minutes, although I doubt if this will be good. I quickly hid some important items in another safe storage area in my dorm. Only the caster or casters could open, detect, or use the safe rooms. I put the book, and some money in there. My bag was already packed but I didn't take it, I figured that if it was just a chat I wouldn't be needing this. I walked to the Dean's office. I saw the Dean standing at the window. His long white hair was down, normally he would have a ponytail or a bun. "Excuse me, sir, I was told you wanted to talk with me again?"

"Ah, yes. Please take a seat."He said.

"What am I in here for?"

"I was told that you assaulted a student a few days ago," He said.

"What?" I said shocked, "I never attacked anyone ever. The only thing I have done with my sword is spar with a girl."

"Well, that girl said that, and I quote. 'She assaulted me non-stop. I tried to defend myself but she kept on attacking me with her attuned sword. She had to be the attacker from earlier.'Care to explain?"

"You see that girl kept on wanting a rematch for our spar. If anything she was too stubborn to give up. I never assaulted her. She also requested I use a normal sword for most of the fights and then she would request me to use the attuned sword. I figured it was because she kept on having mixed feelings about not having an attuned sword herself."

"Even if that is so, what is with the shed?"

"The shed?"

"Yes, the shed. She also reported that you went into a shed, the shed had documents about an angle and also had a drawer with a spell book."

"Those pictures are of my brother, I'm still looking for him. Leo was helping me and the spell book was his. He had written some notes and we haven't even read through most of it."

"You're brother…" The Dean asked, "You don't know what happened to your brother?"
