Lana handed the letter to Lisa, but as Vic started to reach for it, Lisa stepped away protectively. "Lisa, let me have that, honey," Vic said. But Lisa's eyes had already drifted down to read the contents, and her gaze lingered on the date it was written. She felt a wave of hurt and disgust wash over her. "Omigod!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion.
Lisa's words cut through the air, laced with venom and hurt. Vic's eyes dropped, his face pale, as he realized the weight of his deception.
"You always said Mom destroyed this family, but it was you, Dad," Lisa spat. "You lied to us, hid the truth, and made us believe she was the monster. But it was you all along!"
Vic's shoulders slumped, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was trying to protect you. You were so young, and I didn't want you to suffer the stigma of having a mother in prison. I thought it was better to shield you from the truth."
